After graduating, Mark had been searching for a job, but he couldn't find one. In an attempt to make a living, he decided to start trading cryptocurrency. Unfortunately, he lost all his money and everything he had invested. To make matters worse, his house bill was about to expire, and he could barely afford a single meal a day. He was struggling to survive.
One day, Mark and his friends attended a wedding, and, to his surprise, one of them offered him a job. Mark went home that evening feeling ecstatic, thinking he would finally be able to get back on his feet. His friend sent him the job link, and Mark quickly applied, eagerly awaiting a response.
A few days later, while cooking his dinner, Mark heard a notification on his phone. He checked it and saw that he had received a message inviting him for an interview the next day. Overjoyed, he prepared for the interview the next morning. He arrived at the interview, and the interviewers told him they would get back to him. Though nervous, Mark tried to stay optimistic, wondering if he would get the job. Fortunately, he received a call later that day and was accepted for the position of Assistant CEO.
On his first day at work, Mark met the CEO, Mr. Jay. However, their relationship started off on the wrong foot. Mr. Jay was very particular about the cleanliness and organization in the office and often complained about small issues. He had a reputation for firing employees who didn't meet his high standards. Mark, however, worked diligently, trying his best to avoid making any mistakes.
After a few weeks, things were going smoothly at work, but Mark faced another challenge. He came home one evening to find his landlord demanding that he leave the house. Mark begged for more time, promising he would pay the rent as soon as he received his first salary. The landlord, however, only gave him two days to pay the bill, threatening to evict him if he didn't comply. Mark panicked, desperately trying to find a loan, but he was unable to secure one. When the deadline arrived, the landlord evicted him, leaving him with nowhere to go.
With no other options, Mark decided to work late into the night at the office, hoping to find somewhere to sleep until he received his paycheck. After some time, Mr. Jay noticed that Mark wasn't going home. He asked him to leave for the day, but Mark insisted that he had too much work to do. Mr. Jay grew concerned when he noticed Mark was not looking well. When he asked Mark what was wrong, Mark replied that he was fine, but suddenly fainted and collapsed onto Mr. Jay's shoulder.
Mr. Jay tried to contact someone who could help, but Mark had no family, and all his friends were busy with their own lives. With no other choice, Mr. Jay took Mark to his house and cared for him until his fever subsided. "It's too late to go out now. You can leave tomorrow," Mr. Jay told him.
The next morning, Mark woke up early and made breakfast for Mr. Jay as a gesture of gratitude. Mr. Jay was impressed by the delicious food. "I didn't know you were such a good cook," he said. Mark replied, "I grew up alone, so I had to learn to take care of myself."
Mr. Jay then noticed that Mark had been overworking and had gotten sick from the stress. "You've been pushing yourself too hard," he said. "Anyway, thank you for the breakfast. Where do you stay? I can give you a ride."
Mark hesitated, not wanting Mr. Jay to know about his housing situation. "It's okay. You've already done enough. I'll go on my own," he said, but Mr. Jay insisted. "No, I want to make sure you get home safely and take your medicine. I don't want my employee to take a day off because of sickness."
Reluctantly, Mark agreed, and they drove to his house. When they arrived, Mark received a call from his landlord, demanding that he remove his belongings from the house. Mr. Jay overheard and immediately offered to help. "I'll help you get your things," he said.
Together, they went to Mark's place to collect his belongings. When they were finished, Mr. Jay asked, "Where are we taking all this stuff?" Mark, feeling embarrassed, replied, "I don't know where to go. Can you keep my things for now? I'll take them back once I find a new place."
Mr. Jay agreed and told Mark to take the day off to search for a new apartment. Mark tried to find a loan, but once again, he was unsuccessful. As he walked, thinking about what to do next, Mr. Jay called and asked to meet with him. Mark was honest with Mr. Jay about his situation, and Jay felt sorry for him. He offered Mark a place to stay at his house until he received his first paycheck.
With no other options, Mark reluctantly agreed, knowing he had no choice but to accept. Jay also asked Mark to help with chores around the house in exchange for staying there. Since Jay appreciated Mark's cooking, he requested that Mark continue to cook for him every day.
Mark, though hesitant, agreed to the arrangement. Despite his challenging circumstances, he was determined to keep working hard and get back on his feet.
