Mark and Mr. Jay agreed to live together, but with one condition: they would not get involved in each other's personal issues. Mark knew it wouldn't be easy living with his boss, but he was determined to make it work. He moved in, and Jay assigned him a room.
On the first morning, Mark woke up early to prepare breakfast for Jay. Once everything was ready, Jay told Mark to eat first and head to the office. Mark rushed through his tasks, knowing he needed to return home in time to prepare dinner. However, things didn't go smoothly at work. Jay kept piling on extra tasks—asking Mark to clean his office, order his lunch, and run errands. Despite the challenges, Mark managed to finish everything on time and prepared dinner that evening.
When Jay tasted the food, he didn't appreciate it, claiming he was a picky eater. Mark offered to cook something else, but Jay refused and went out to eat at a restaurant instead.
The weekend arrived, and they were both at home with nothing to do. Mark took the opportunity to ask Jay if they could get to know each other better.
"What do you want to know about me?" Jay asked.
"Everything," Mark replied with a smile.
Jay said, "You can ask anything you want, but not about my personal life."
Mark nodded and asked, "What's your favorite food?"
"Spaghetti and meatballs—sometimes with cheese. I prefer healthy meals for breakfast," Jay replied.
"Coffee or tea?" Mark asked.
"Coffee," Jay answered.
"Iced or hot chocolate?"
"It depends on the time of day, but I don't like sweets," Jay said.
They continued chatting, slowly learning each other's likes and dislikes. Over time, they began to enjoy each other's company.
Eventually, Mark received his first paycheck and decided it was time to move out. He found a new apartment and moved in. Jay, however, felt Mark's absence immediately. The house felt empty without him, and Jay missed Mark's cooking and companionship. At work, Jay kept finding excuses to call Mark into his office—asking him to make food, keep him company, or run errands.
One day, Mark confronted Jay and said, "You need to stop asking me to do these things. I need to focus on my actual job."
Instead of backing off, Jay asked, "Why don't you move back in with me?"
Mark was taken aback. "Why? I already have a place to stay," he said.
Jay insisted, "Let's live together like before. You don't have to pay rent; just stay with me."
Mark shook his head. "I can't, sir. The reason I stayed before no longer applies, and I've already paid for my new apartment."
"I'll reimburse you for the rent," Jay offered.
Despite Jay's persistence, Mark initially refused. However, after much convincing, Mark finally agreed to move back in. This time, Jay treated him with more respect, and their relationship grew friendlier.
One day, Jay had to travel out of town for a business meeting but was involved in an accident. Mark immediately went to the hospital to take care of him, managing Jay's office work while also looking after his recovery.
After Jay was discharged, Mark continued to care for him at home. Every morning, he prepared meals and ensured Jay took his medication. In the evenings, after work, he took Jay for walks to help him regain his strength. They often had dinner together at restaurants, and their bond deepened.
One evening, Jay pretended to have a headache and asked Mark to stay with him. Mark sat by his side until Jay fell asleep, but they both ended up dozing off. In the middle of the night, Mark woke up and noticed that Jay had developed a fever. Alarmed, he quickly fetched a towel and cold water to bring down Jay's temperature.
Day by day, as they spent more time together, Mark found himself developing feelings for Jay.
