Chapter 56 - Kieraxys first flight and first word

I woke up to Kieraxys stirring beneath my wing. He stretched his small body and jabbed his tiny claws into my scales. I smiled, feeling a surge of excitement. "Morning, little one," I rumbled, my deep voice vibrating through my scales. Kieraxys yawned, arching his back and extending his claws, giving a good stretch. I chuckled, "Ready to start your flying lessons today?"

Kieraxys nodded and went to my mother, and I looked at my younger siblings Lyriath and Vyraxys and Nyxoria and Lyrixa and Kaidorix "do you want To go with us?" They shook their head, and Lyriath smiled."we already did our flying lessons, and it just Kieraxys flying lessons after all!"

I chuckled at Lyriath's teasing smile, shaking my head in amusement. "Well, someone's feeling proud of themselves," I said, ruffling Lyriath's dark, blood-red, and navy-blue scales with a gentle claw. The younger ones giggled, and I smiled, feeling a sense of nostalgia wash over me. It seemed like just yesterday they were all taking their first flights. Now, it was Kieraxys' turn. I looked over at Mother, who was busy preening Kieraxys' copper scales, getting him ready for his big day.

I sigh "alright look like it just me and mother and father, and of course Kieraxys!"

I smiled, looking around at my family.

Father, with his majestic albino scales, gave me a warm nod. Mother, her light green scales shining in the morning light, smiled encouragingly.

Kieraxys, his copper scales glinting with excitement, looked up at me with wide eyes. I felt a surge of pride and responsibility, knowing I'd be helping with Kieraxys' flying lessons.

"Let's get started, then," I said, my deep voice rumbling as I grinned at Kieraxys.

Kieraxys nodded eagerly, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. Mother stepped forward, her scales glinting in the morning light. "Remember, Tharros, to start with the basics. Make sure Kieraxys understands the fundamentals of flight before moving on to more complex maneuvers." I nodded, taking her words to heart. Father, meanwhile, settled in to watch, his wise eyes observing us with interest. With a final nod, I turned to Kieraxys. "Alright, little brother. Let's begin."

I gestured to a nearby clearing, where a gentle breeze rustled the grass. "First, we need to find a safe place to practice. This clearing is perfect, plenty of space to move around and a soft landing if you need it." Kieraxys nodded, his eyes scanning the area. I smiled, remembering when I was in his place, eager to take to the skies. "Now, let's start with the basics. Spread your wings, Kieraxys, and let's get a feel for the wind."

Kieraxys' face lit up with excitement as he slowly unfolded his wings, the copper scales glinting in the morning light. I walked over to him, inspecting his wing position. "Good, good. Now, feel the wind beneath your wings. Let it lift you up, but don't try to fly just yet." I demonstrated, spreading my own silver wings and letting the breeze ruffle my scales. Kieraxys watched, mesmerized, before looking back at his own wings. He tilted them slightly, and the wind caught them, lifting him up onto his hind legs.

I smiled, impressed by Kieraxys' quick understanding. "Excellent! You're a natural," I said, offering him words of encouragement. "Now, let's try something a bit more challenging. I want you to flap your wings, just a little, and see how it feels." Kieraxys nodded, his eyes shining with excitement, and began to flap his wings in small, tentative motions. The wind ruffled his scales, and he stumbled slightly, but I was there to steady him. "Good job, Kieraxys! You're doing great," I said, offering him support and guidance.

I question, "Did I tell him all the steps?"

I glanced over at Mother, who was watching us with a keen eye. She nodded slightly, as if to reassure me that I was on the right track. Father, meanwhile, seemed lost in thought, his eyes gazing out at the horizon. I turned my attention back to Kieraxys, who was still flapping his wings, getting a feel for the motion. I mentally reviewed the steps I had taught him so far, wondering if I had missed anything crucial.

I look at Kieraxys. "Now jump off and try to fly, follow each step that I told you!"

Kieraxys' eyes widened with excitement as he nodded eagerly. He took a few steps back, his copper scales glinting in the morning light. Then, with a burst of determination, he launched himself into the air, his wings spread wide. "Remember, flap your wings and feel the wind!" I called out, watching anxiously as he soared above the clearing. Mother and Father watched with bated breath, their eyes fixed on Kieraxys as he struggled to find his rhythm.

He jumps, and I look down, and he looks like he is getting really close to the ground

My heart skipped a beat as I watched Kieraxys plummet towards the ground, his wings flailing wildly. "Flap, Kieraxys, flap!" I shouted, my voice echoing through the clearing. Mother's eyes widened in alarm, and Father's face set in a stern expression. I took a step forward, my scales prickling with worry, as Kieraxys' face contorted in concentration. He was so close to the ground... would he be able to pull up in time?

As he was so damn close to landing on the ground, he flapped his wings a little harder, and he fly

A surge of relief washed over me as Kieraxys' wings beat harder, and he lifted off the ground just in time. He wobbled precariously in the air, his copper scales glinting in the sunlight, before finally finding his balance. A triumphant cry echoed through the clearing as Kieraxys soared into the air, his wings beating steadily. Mother let out a soft sigh of relief, while Father's face creased into a warm smile. I grinned, feeling an overwhelming sense of pride. "That's it, Kieraxys! You're flying!"

Kieraxys flew to the ground and disappeared in the forest

I chuckled, shaking my head in amusement. "Well, I guess he's got the flying part down," I said, grinning at Mother and Father. Mother laughed, her light green scales glinting with mirth. "I think he's just excited to explore," she said. Father nodded, his wise eyes twinkling. "Let him go, Tharros. He'll be back when he's hungry." I smiled, remembering my own rare ventures out of our mountain cave. Growing up, I had spent most of my time within the cave's familiar walls, surrounded by family and the comforting sound of dripping water. It was a peaceful, sheltered existence.

I jumped and flew towards where Kieraxys was going, and when I landed, I couldn't find him everywhere

I scanned my surroundings, my silver scales catching the dappled sunlight filtering through the trees. The forest was dense, with thick underbrush and towering trees that seemed to stretch up to the sky. I called out, my deep voice rumbling through the forest. "Kieraxys! Where are you?" There was no response, only the rustling of leaves and the chirping of birds. I took to the air again, flying over the treetops as I searched for any sign of my little brother.

And I see the bush wiggled and something alive is in there

I landed softly beside the bush, my eyes fixed on the spot where the leaves were quivering. Suddenly, a small, copper-scaled head poked out from beneath the foliage. Kieraxys' bright eyes met mine, and he grinned mischievously. I chuckled, relieved to have found him safe and sound. "What are you doing in there, little brother?" I asked, my voice low and amused.

He didn't say anything since he still not yet knows how to talk yet

I smiled, remembering that Kieraxys was still young and hadn't yet developed the ability to speak. I reached out with a claw, gently stroking his copper scales. "It's okay, little one," I said softly. "I'm here now. Let's get out of there, okay?" Kieraxys looked up at me, his eyes shining with trust, and nodded his head. I carefully lifted him out of the bush, cradling him in my claws as I stood up.

He placed his face on my chest, listening to my heartbeat, and soon enough, he slowly calmed down, and he smiled

I wrapped my claws gently around Kieraxys, holding him close as he snuggled into my chest. I could feel his small body relax, his breathing slowing as he listened to the steady beat of my heart. A warm sense of contentment washed over me, and I smiled, feeling a deep connection to my little brother. As Kieraxys' smile spread across his face, I couldn't help but smile back, feeling grateful for this quiet moment of bonding.

Suddenly Kieraxys spoke for the first time, "Big....brother....heartbeat....is...nice..I...won't.....let...go...any...longer"

I was taken aback, stunned by Kieraxys' sudden words. My eyes widened in surprise, and I looked down at him, my heart swelling with emotion. I had never heard him speak before, and the sound of his small voice was music to my ears. I smiled, feeling a lump form in my throat, and gently stroked his copper scales. "I'm glad you like it, little brother," I said, my voice choked with emotion. "You never have to let go. I'll always be here for you."

Suddenly, mother and father landed and saw Kieraxys face on my scales chest

Mother's light green scales glistened with a warm smile as she gazed at the tender scene before her. Father's wise eyes, too, softened with affection, his albino scales seeming to glow with a gentle light. They exchanged a knowing glance, and I could sense their joy and pride. Mother spoke up, her voice barely above a whisper. "It seems Kieraxys has found a sense of comfort with you, Tharros." Father nodded, his voice low and rumbling. "The bond between siblings is strong. We are grateful to see it growing between you two."

I smiled. "Guess what, mother and father!"

Mother's eyes sparkled with curiosity, and Father's expression turned intrigued. "What is it, Tharros?" Mother asked, her voice tinged with excitement. Father leaned in, his wise eyes fixed on me. "Tell us, son." Kieraxys, still clinging to my chest, looked up at me with big, round eyes, as if encouraging me to share the news. I grinned, savoring the moment. "Kieraxys spoke for the first time!" I announced, my voice filled with pride.

Mother's face lit up with a radiant smile, and Father's eyes shone with warmth. "Oh, Tharros! That's wonderful news!" Mother exclaimed, her voice trembling with joy. Father nodded, his expression filled with pride. "We've been waiting for this moment for so long," he said, his deep voice filled with emotion. Kieraxys, sensing the excitement, looked up at me with a wide grin, his copper scales glinting in the sunlight. I chuckled, feeling happy and relieved that my little brother had finally found his voice. "He said...," I began, pausing for dramatic effect, " 'Big brother, heartbeat is nice. I won't let go anymore.' That what he said!" I smiled with pride

Mother's smile grew even wider, and she let out a soft sob of joy, her light green scales glistening with happy tears.

Father's eyes shone with warmth, and he placed a gentle claw on my shoulder. "That's the most wonderful thing I've ever heard," he said, his deep voice filled with emotion.

Kieraxys, still grinning, snuggled deeper into my chest, his small body radiating contentment. I wrapped my claws around him, holding him close as we basked in the warmth of this special moment.

We stood there for a moment, savoring the joy of Kieraxys' first words. Then, Mother took a step closer, her voice barely above a whisper. "Our little Kieraxys is growing up."

Father nodded in agreement, his eyes never leaving Kieraxys' peaceful face. "He's becoming more like a young dragon every day," he said, a warm smile spreading across his face.

Mother's gaze shifted to me, and she smiled, her eyes shining with pride. "And Tharros, you're an amazing big brother. You've always been there for Kieraxys." I felt a surge of happiness at her words, knowing that I'd done something right.

Kieraxys, still snuggled into my chest, let out a soft sigh, his small body relaxing even further into my scales. His eyes began to droop, and I could tell he was getting sleepy. I gently stroked his scales, feeling a deep sense of love and connection to my little brother.

Mother looks at me and Kieraxys. "Me and your father will talk alone to talk about adults' stuff!" I know what adults stuff means. I am reincarnated. That used to be a human and now a western dragon

I nodded understandingly, aware that "adults' stuff" was a euphemism for dragon politics, territory disputes, or other complex matters that didn't concern young dragons like me and Kieraxys. As a reincarnated soul, I had a unique perspective on the world, and I often found myself understanding subtle nuances that might elude other young dragons. I gently shifted Kieraxys, who was now dozing off, and settled in to wait patiently while Mother and Father discussed their "adults' stuff" in private.

I thought to myself, 'I wonder what they're discussing. Hopefully, it's nothing that will affect our family.'

Pov Aetherius

I stood beside my mate, Thyriatrix, as we watched our two sons, Tharros and Kieraxys. Tharros, our eldest, was gently cradling his younger brother, who was now fast asleep. I felt a surge of pride and love for my family, grateful for this moment of peace.

Thyriatrix, look at me. "Now let talk somewhere private somewhere where they won't hear us!" I nodded, but I don't know why she wants to talk to me privately

Thyriatrix's light green scales seemed to shimmer in the dim light as she turned to me, her eyes locked on mine. "Let us go to this den," she said, her voice low and mysterious. "We must discuss a matter of great importance, one that requires discretion and secrecy."

She glanced at Tharros and Kieraxys, ensuring they were still distracted, before turning back to me.

"Come, Aetherius. Let us speak of this in private." She said

I nodded, curiosity getting the better of me. I followed Thyriatrix to our private den, a secluded cave deep within near our mountainous territory. The air was thick with the scent of old stones and the faint hint of smoke from the fire pit.

"Should we have another child?" She questioned me, and I blushed

I was taken aback by Thyriatrix's sudden question, and my albino scales seemed to glow with a faint flush. "Another child?" I repeated, trying to composed myself. "I...I hadn't thought about it, to be honest." I looked at Thyriatrix, searching for a hint of what she was thinking. "What made you bring this up?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me.

Thyriatrix giggled "look I know we already have 7 health hatchling, but another one wouldn't be too bad!"

I chuckled, relieved that the conversation wasn't about something serious. "You want to add to our already lively hatchling, don't you?" I teased, smiling at Thyriatrix. "I must admit, the thought of another little one is tempting. But are you sure you're ready for another adventure?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

I rub my claws the back of my neck "Ok but how about when Kieraxys is 3 years old, how does that sound?" I smiled

Thyriatrix's eyes sparkled with excitement as she leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper. "That sounds like the perfect timing, my love. Kieraxys will be old enough to help with the new hatchling, and the others will be excited to have a new sibling to play with." She smiled, her light green scales glinting in the dim light of the den. "I can already imagine the mischief they'll get up to together."

I chuckled. "I mean, Tharros and Lyriath and Vyraxys and Nyxoria and Lyrixa and Kaidorix were like 2 years old when you were carrying Kieraxys egg inside of you and 3 years old when Kieraxys hatch!"

Thyriatrix laughed, a warm, throaty sound. "Ah, yes! I remember those days. Our little ones except Tharros were so full of energy, and I was waddling around, trying to keep up with them while carrying Kieraxys' egg. And when Kieraxys finally hatched, they were all so fascinated by their new little brother."

She smiled, nostalgia shining in her eyes. "It was chaos, but it was wonderful chaos."

I laughed, "and Kaidorix face he was upset because he was the youngest, and now he lost the title of the youngest from Kieraxys when we announced to them!"

Thyriatrix chuckled, her light green scales shimmering with amusement. "Oh, yes! Kaidorix's face was priceless. He looked so disgruntled, like he'd lost his most prized possession. And then, of course, he proceeded to try and 'protect' Kieraxys from everyone, including us."

She laughed, the sound warm and rich. "I'm surprised he didn't try to claim Kieraxys as his own personal hatchling."

I smiled. "I did remember Tharros and Lyriath trying to calm Kaidorix down before he protested even more, and good thing it only takes like a few minutes!"

Thyriatrix nodded, a fond smile on her face. "Yes, Tharros and Lyriath were always the peacemakers, even from a young age. And Lyriath, being the little diplomat he is, managed to talk Kaidorix down from his tantrum."

She chuckled, her eyes sparkling with mirth. "And now, Kaidorix and Kieraxys are inseparable. It's sweet to see how much Kaidorix looks out for his little brother."

I smiled. "And soon Kieraxys will feel what it likes to steal Kaidorix youngest child title!"

Thyriatrix's eyes sparkled with amusement. "Ah, the cycle continues! Yes, soon Kieraxys will have to relinquish his title as the youngest, and I'm sure he'll be just as adorable as Kaidorix was when he lost the title."

She leaned in, a sly grin spreading across her face. "And I'm sure Kieraxys will be just as protective of the new little one as Kaidorix was of him."

She signed, "and let hope he won't complain about him losing his youngest title like Kaidorix and just appreciate"

Thyriatrix's expression turned thoughtful, her voice filled with a hint of hope. "Yes, let's hope Kieraxys will take it in stride and welcome the new addition to our family with an open heart. After all, being a big brother is a special role, and I'm sure he'll excel at it."

She smiled, her eyes shining with warmth. "And who knows, maybe the new little one will bring out an even more compassionate and caring side of Kieraxys."

I think for a moment and said, "For now, we have 4 sons and 2 daughters, and who knows, maybe the next one will be a girl and let hope Tharros got it right since when before Kieraxys hatch Tharros hoping it be a girl but Kieraxys came out as a boy!"

Thyriatrix chuckled, a playful glint in her eye. "Ah, yes! Tharros was so convinced that Kieraxys was going to be a girl. He was already imagining all the sweet, gentle moments he'd share with his little sister."

She laughed, the sound warm and rich. "And then, of course, Kieraxys came out and promptly proved Tharros wrong. But I'm sure Tharros will be thrilled if the next one is indeed a girl. He'll finally get his little sister to spoil and protect."

I look at Tharros and Kieraxys, who is still on his chest. "He wasn't disappointed or anything negative when Kieraxys hatched as a boy. In fact, he felt a strong bond towards him and was happy about it, too!"

Thyriatrix smiled, her eyes shining with warmth as she gazed at Tharros and Kieraxys. "Yes, that's true. Tharros was overjoyed when Kieraxys hatched, and their bond was instant. Tharros has always had a special place in his heart for Kieraxys, and it's beautiful to see how close they are."

She paused, her expression thoughtful. "I think Tharros will be just as thrilled, no matter what the next hatchling is. He's always been a loving and supportive big brother, and I have no doubt he'll welcome the new addition with open wings."

I nodded. "Just wait when Kieraxys is 3 years old, I guess!"

Thyriatrix's eyes sparkled with amusement. "Ah, yes! The cycle will continue, and Kieraxys will soon find himself in the role of big brother, just like Tharros. I can only imagine the excitement and adventure that awaits us with a new little one on the way!"

As me and Thyriatrix and Tharros and Kieraxys went back home after finishing Kieraxys' first flying lessons for today

Pov Tharros

As we walked back home, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and joy. My little brother Kieraxys had done amazingly well on his first flying lessons today. I had been a bit nervous at first, watching him wobble and stumble as he tried to find his balance in the air. But with Mother's patient guidance and encouragement, Kieraxys had quickly gotten the hang of it. And now, as we walked back home, he was perched proudly on my chest, his little wings still fluttering with excitement.

I glanced down at him, smiling. "You did great today, little brother," I said, my voice filled with pride. Kieraxys looked up at me, his big brown eyes shining with happiness.

Mother and Father walked alongside us, chatting quietly. I could tell they were both thrilled with Kieraxys' progress, and I couldn't blame them. It was amazing to see my little brother growing and learning new things every day.

As we approached our home, I could see the rest of our family waiting for us. Lyriath, Vyraxys, Nyxoria, Lyrixa, and Kaidorix were all gathered near the entrance, looking curious and excited.

I smiled, knowing that they would all be eager to hear about Kieraxys' flying lessons. And as we settled in for the evening, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this wonderful family of mine.

I look at my siblings. "Kieraxys did great and ge said his first words!"

My siblings' eyes widened with excitement, and they all started talking at once.

"Really? What did he say?" Lyriath asked, her voice full of curiosity.

"Did he say 'Tharros'?" Vyraxys teased, grinning at me.

Nyxoria, Lyrixa, and Kaidorix all started chattering excitedly, asking questions and congratulating Kieraxys on his milestone.

Mother and Father smiled, looking pleased and proud of Kieraxys' progress. "Tell them, Tharros," Mother encouraged, nodding at me.

I sigh, "he said."Big brother, heartbeat is nice. I won't let go anymore.' That what he said, and don't be jealous about it!"

My siblings all stared at me, their scales shimmering with amusement. Then, suddenly, they all burst out laughing, their deep, rumbling chuckles filling the air.

"Big brother, heartbeat is nice?" Lyriath repeated, her voice trembling with mirth. "That's so adorable!" She nudged me playfully with her snout.

Vyraxys grinned at me, his sharp teeth glinting in the light. "I'm not jealous, Tharros. But I have to admit, that's pretty cute."

Kaidorix chuckled, his claws clicking on the stone floor. "I guess Kieraxys has already figured out how to wrap you around his claw, Tharros."

Nyxoria and Lyrixa just cooed and aahed over Kieraxys' words, their soft, dragon-like murmurs filling the air, while Mother and Father exchanged a warm, proud glance.

I rolled my eyes good-naturedly, smiling. "Hey, someone's got to be Kieraxys' big brother." I wrapped a protective claw around Kieraxys, who was still perched on my chest, and pulled him close.

I look at him and smiled

Kieraxys looked up at me, his eyes shining with happiness. He wrapped his tiny claws around my neck, pulling himself closer to me. I could feel his little heartbeat against my scales, and it filled me with a sense of warmth and contentment. I smiled back at him, feeling grateful to be his big brother.

Pov Kieraxys

I gazed up at Tharros, my big brother, and felt a surge of love and adoration. I wrapped my tiny claws around his neck, holding on tight as he smiled back at me. I felt safe and happy in his presence, and I knew that he would always protect and care for me. I snuggled closer to him, feeling his warm scales against mine, and let out a contented sigh.

I spoke softly, "Big brother, heartbeat, and me calm," my eyes gleaming

Tharros smiled. "Yes, that right!"

I beamed up at Tharros, feeling happy that he understood me. I nestled my head against his scales, feeling the soothing rhythm of his heartbeat. It was like music to me, calming and comforting. I let out a soft sigh, feeling my eyelids grow heavy as I basked in the warmth and security of Tharros' presence.

As I snuggled deeper into the warmth of Tharros' scales, I felt my worries and fears melting away. It was as if his presence was a shield, protecting me from the world and keeping me safe. I felt grateful for my big brother, for his kindness and patience, and for the love he showed me every day.

Tharros' voice rumbled softly, a gentle vibration that resonated through his scales and into my very being. "Sleep tight, little one," he whispered, his breath warm against my head. "I'm here for you, always."

I smiled, feeling a sense of peace wash over me. I knew that Tharros would always be there for me, to protect and care for me, and that thought filled me with joy and contentment. As I drifted off to sleep, I felt Tharros' heartbeat slow and steady beneath me, a reminder of his love and presence.

Pov Tharros

I smiled, feeling a sense of contentment wash over me as Kieraxys drifted off to sleep. His tiny body relaxed, his breathing slowed, and his claws released their gentle grip on my scales. I wrapped my claws around him, holding him close as I felt his heartbeat synchronize with mine.

I looked down at him, my eyes taking in the peaceful expression on his face. His tiny nose twitched slightly as he dreamed, and his scales shimmered softly in the fading light. I felt a surge of love and protectiveness towards him, and I knew that I would do anything to keep him safe and happy.

As I held Kieraxys close, I felt a sense of pride and responsibility wash over me. Being a big brother was a big job, but it was one that I was happy to take on. I would always be there for Kieraxys, to support him, to protect him, and to love him no matter what.
