Chapter 13 - Lovers Feud

Odalys dashed towards Draven so fast that the essence she was carrying with her struggled to keep up.

Draven himself was caught off guard; Odalys had her arm prepared to deliver a devestating uppercut to his chin.

However, if Draven was known for one thing, it was the speed of his blood manipulation.

The blue drop of blood quickly expanded into a small flat disc, barely the size of a fist.

Yet it worked as a shield.

He placed the blood disc between his face and the incoming punch.

However, Odalys' strike was enhanced by her new powers, and she hit the disc with force.

The power itself sent Draven flying into the roof of the cellar, crashing through layers and layers of stone, until he exited through the roof and floor of the palace, before finally exiting into the bright sky.

As he flew from the punch, only one thought was running through his mind.

I was hit...

The thought came with a smile. For some reason, it was a riveting feeling.

He looked down from the sky to see Odalys charging towards him, shooting into the sky from the palace like a bullet.

Draven manipulated the drop of blood into the shape of a bullet and shot it towards her.

It took Odalys in the shoulder, sending drops of her own blood spiralling into the sky, but it hardly stopped her.

Her flight continued until she crashed head-first into him, sending him even further upwards.

Then, from below, she concentrated the blue magical essence into a large gathering of energy in her hands.

She was going to send a blast towards Draven.

Excellent...

A powerful beam shot from her hands, and came crashing towards him like a bolt of lightning.

It seemed to leave cracks in the air as she travelled. It was so fierce.

"You are excellent, Odalys!"

Draven roared as he bit deeper into his finger so that a stream of blue blood flowed from the wound.

Then, he created a shield large enough to block the blast.

It crashed against his shield, sending him flying further once again, so that he was close to the clouds, looking down upon everything from above.

The force of the blow self a bolt running through his arm. It was powerful.

But the damage was blocked entirely.

Now that he had decided to use more blood, the battle had been decided.

Odalys followed him into the clouds, using the blue energy to propel her forwards.

But as she followed, Draven was manipulating his blood once again.

He moulded it to his will, creating what might be able to pass as a weapon.

But in truth, it just looked like a blue stick.

Odalys was now close enough, so Draven charged towards her. He moved through the air using a similar technique that she did, by using blood to propel himself forward.

They clashed forces.

Draven swung the stick towards her head and Odalys lifted an arm to defend it.

But she had underestimated the unconventional weapon.

As it crashed into her arm, it passed through the magical essence around her body, and and shattered the bone of her arm.

Ignoring the pain, she struck with her other arm. But in less than a second, Draven changed the form of the stick into a shield and used it to block the punch.

He was still sent flying a few meters backwards from the punch, though this time, as he did, he went on the offensive.

The blue shield he had created returned to its liquid form, before breaking into tiny droplets of blood.

Ten of them.

And with a push of his hand, he sent them flying towards Odalys'.

As she saw the attack coming her way, her face twisted into one of fear.

They moved with a speed that was impossible to block, piercing through her naked body in all different places, and exiting through her back.

Although the drops were small, they seemed to hit vital points. Her body felt limp, as though it was fighting against her.

"No." she coughed as she struggled to maintain flight. Blood fell from her mouth as she moaned.

Against her will, her body began to slowly fall from the sky, as Draven floated in the clouds, looking down on her.

Like a god.

Her descent slowly began to speed up, as Draven's form fell further from her eyesight.

She was so high up, that the fall was able to reach incredible speeds.

---

Is this how I am defeated? She Odalys' to herself as she fell.

So easily. Despite my new strengths...

He is truly the strongest...

She closed her eyes as she fell through the sky.

No... Maybe he's not.

After all, she exists.

The Mother.

She chuckled to herself, but the noise was lost in the wind.

Don't underestimate the humans, Draven... They are not as you once knew.

---

Draven stood in the clouds as he continued to watch one of his former lovers descend into death.

If anyone were spectating the battle, they would have thought it was an easy fight for Draven.

But he was not pleased with the outcome.

She should not have been able to become so strong in such a short amount of time.

If the humans truly have powers like this, and perhaps even stronger, then...

It was an outcome that he didn't like to think of, but it seemed to be one he was not able to avoid.

It seems like Lunaris Silverclaw is not the only one we will have to worry about. The humans have some tricks up their sleeves as well.

His thoughts were interrupted as a dull crash came from the grounds of Velhalla.

Odalys had fallen to her death.

Not wishing to waste any more blood on the flight, he allowed the droplets to dissipate into the air, though he kept one out to help him descend gracefully.

Now then... It seems there is much for me to do.
