Chapter 4 - Knowledge

"Ahh--yes~yessss! ♡" Florissa screamed as she rode atop Draven's naked body.

Her long blue hair was now a mess, and her cheeks blushed with pleasure.

He reached his hand up to grab at one of her large breasts and enjoyed the softness in his hands.

Her reactions told him that she was sensitive, so he pinched one of her pink nipples with his fingers.

"Mhmmm~♡"

After he was satisfied, he pushed her to the bed and finished on her breasts.

He would never risk planting his seed in a woman. Not again.

As he looked at her naked body, she watched back, out of breath and exasperated.

Her cheeks were flushed and she looked like a doll on the bed. Unable to move from the pleasure.

"T-that was incredible." She said between breaths as Draven put his robe on and made his way to the window.

"No one's ever been able to make me feel that way before."

Draven's face was unbothered as he looked out of the window.

"I know."

The gardens of the palace were large enough to be considered a field. The sun had begun to set, but the maidservants still went about, trimming lawns and tending to flowers.

"Go and clean yourself off and return to your duties. I may call you again in the future if I feel like it." He said over his shoulder to Florissa, dismissing her.

A surprised look came across her face, as though she had expected more, but she knew better than to ask.

She rose to her feet and bowed her head with respect.

"Thank you for pleasuring me, Master. I hope you enjoyed yourself."

Afterwards, she made her way to the bathroom to clean herself off, before leaving the room with the clothes he had taken off her.

Draven was left with his thoughts.

He enjoyed her performance, but it wasn't enough. He could tell she was hardly of high rank in the council. Probably somewhere between 15th and 20th.

I need more.

His mind turned to Serena. The stubborn woman with the white hair. The previous acting head of the clan.

A smirk twitched on his face.

Knock knock knock

"Come in."

The door creaked open, and a young boy walked in with a bunch of books in his hand.

He had blonde hair that went back into a ponytail, giving him a slightly feminine appearance, and he wore black scholarly robes.

"Good evening, Lord Draven. I am Lucian, the scholar that you called for." His voice was childlike, but he spoke with an air of confidence that impressed Draven.

He knows who he stands before, and yet he speaks so calmly. And to be a scholar at such a young age.

He has promise. Why have they not made him a vampire?

Draven had specifically called for Lucian so that he could tell him about the current state of the Noctaris members.

The Clan was sectioned into a hierarchy.

At its top, of course, was the Lord. Draven.

But directly beneath him, the Lord always kept a group of twenty of the strongest vampires that he could call upon at any time.

Draven was even powerful enough to have his words telepathically heard by those of the clan across large distances, though he would not be able to hear their responses.

These 20 vampires were called the Nocturnal Knights, and as Lucian was telling him about the power ranking, something confused him.

"Serena is not the strongest?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. She was in second place, below a woman named Vespera.

"Yes. Vespera is, without a doubt, the strongest. Her bloodline dates back to the Thronsoul family."

Ahh. That makes sense.

The Thronsouls were one of the ancient vampire clans that Draven had brought under his control. They were also the clan that was most defiant; their leader was always insistent on going against him.

If she cares for her ancestry, she may be a problem in the future... I will keep this in mind.

After he had memorised the rankings of the Nocturnal Knights, he was told about the Eversleepers.

They were a new unit of Noctaris vampires not yet strong enough to break into the Nocturnal Knights and were made up of both men and women.

This gave him a chance to ask why the strongest knights were now all women.

"Well, we are not quite sure my Lord. Scientists have said that they believe it to be a result of genetic adaptation, but over the past few centuries, our women have just always outshone the men."

Draven always hated not knowing the reason behind why things worked the way they did, but he accepted it.

More women were not a bad thing for him, after all, and he found great satisfaction in conquering women who believed themselves to be in places of power.

But something irked him about the lack of strong men amongst his top forces.

"Thank you, Young Lucian, that will be all for now."

The blonde-haired boy collected his things and made his way to the exit after bowing. But before he left, he hesitated.

"Um, if it is not tooo much to ask of you, Lord Draven, I have a request."

Draven watched the boy, confused.

He was not shy before, so why now?

"Go ahead."

A few more seconds of hesitation passed, and whatever it was seemed to be troubling him gravely.

"I... I would like to become a vampire. Of course, only if I am deemed worthy. I have practised basic martial arts, and am heavily knowledgeable on the ways of the Nocta-"

"Consider it done." Draven interrupted, as he made his way to his feet and towards the boy.

Lucian's jaw hung agape as Draven approached, a look of disbelief on his face.

He bowed his head so low, his head was practically scraping the floor.

"Thank you, my Lord! It is truly an honour. I will accept the bite from any low-rank vampire, even a vampling. I will work hard to honour our name so that you do not regret your decision."

Draven stood towering over the short boy, waiting for his pleads to finish. Once it had, he leaned over and bit the boy in the back of his neck.

Lucian winced in pain, but the true shock came from something else.

He had been bitten by Draven, the Lord of All Vampires. Something that had not been done in over a thousand years.

The blood of the Noctaris entered his body and filled his veins. But unlike other modern-day vampires, Lucian had been given blood so pure that Draven wasn't even sure that the boy would survive.

After he was done, Lucian held the back of his neck in awe. The blood would take a few days to activate, but if he managed to survive the process, he would emerge as a different boy.

A new Lucian.

"Words cannot express my gratitude, truly." He expressed.

Draven wasn't as bothered by the act as he should have been.

Perhaps it was the time spent in slumber making him whimsical, or the fact that he knew that no troubles could come to him from his decision, as he could just kill the boy if he wanted.

Or maybe he was just fond of the boy and wanted him as an underling.

"Run along now, and get some rest. You have a long few days ahead of you."

With final thanks, Lucian hurried from the room with his books in hand. He would be able to leave his scholarly life behind now if he wished. If he survived.

And once news had spread of what had been done to him, the Noctaris clan would be in disbelief.

Still, Draven did not care. There were not enough male prospects in his clan. People like himself and Dracula, and that would need to change.

"Now then..."

He spoke in an elusive manner, using powers that would make the words revealed to every member of the Nocturnal Knights, and Eversleepers.

"It's time to prepare for battle against the Whiteyes."
