Chapter 53 - Scarlet

Celine felt herself falling endlessly without any senses. She could not hear, see, or feel anything but the endless void beneath her. It was surreal.

Eventually, she accepted the feeling of nothingness and admired the black void around her while smiling.

Soon after, a small amount of red scarlet entered her view. It looked like small streaks of lightning across the night sky that all pointed towards one direction.

The beautiful display converged slowly and gradually as Celine watched a figure of elegance form from the scarlet void.

They had a comically large red witch hat and an elegant scarlet robe with a red mask hiding their face. Their figure radiated brimming elegance and had a slight manipulative feel to it.

Celine, who was still falling, heard the charming voice speak to her.

"So you are one of the lucky five," the witch tilted her head slightly endearingly and lightly graced Celine's body with her slight touch.

Celine immediately felt the sensation of infinitely falling and the void slowly dissipate. She laid on the floor in shock of the weird feelings.

The scarlet witch however, still traced her touch across Celine's body.

She started at her lower body and lightly dragged her finger teasingly with ease across Celine's stomach. Through Celine's confusion, the witch didn't stop as her finger slowly climbed towards a peak on Celine's chest.

The witched teased slightly while playfully moving her fingertip around the top of Celine's womanly chest despite the yelp Celine gave.

Celine had never felt so naked and vulnerable in her life.

Nevertheless, the witch didn't stop as she gracefully descended the womanly peak and crawled up Celine's neck. Without fail, she gently placed her hand behind Celine's head and pushed forward gently.

Celine was brought into a seated position while the witch had a loving palm holding her right cheek.

"What is your name, dear? You must be a god as well, so what number is your original lifetime?" The loving witch said with a smile hidden by the scarlet mask and her head slightly tilted.

For some reason, Celine felt compelled to answer like she was unable to resist. It was a weird scarlet-shaded power that Celine had never encountered in her life.

"I am Celine Lithold, the 73rd God. My original life was lived in the 73rd lifetime," Celine mindlessly stated while being captivated by the endless beauty of the witch.

"I'm Scarlet," the witch smiled. "I know it doesn't look like it, but I don't like to manipulate people. So, just listen to my story and I'll cancel the spell I've casted upon you."

Celine felt herself regain consciousness and proper thinking but remained silent and waited for the story.

"A long time ago, I discovered something unfathomable for us normal elves. I found out that the tower we all feared wasn't the first," Scarlet looked amazed at the thought.

"I discovered remnants of past races fighting for their survival on our conjoined planets. Species that I had never even imagined possible were real, but relics of an untold past."

"Then, I started to go down the wrong path. I was a normal, mortal, elven mage but I believed myself to be on the levels of Gods with my hubris. I was a genius beyond comprehension and that fueled my stupidity as I invented a method to revive the lost species."

"Time Travel"

"I went back and communicated with them. I learned about their tower and how it wasn't too different from our own. I also went farther back into the past and saw how lifeless are planet was before the first life forms appear from nothing. As if a God placed them. I theorize that True God had created and placed the first species for some purpose but I will never know."

"These fascinating thoughts let me make the mistake of going to the future. I seeked knowledge on how to win an upcoming battle and I looked into the future to know how. Then, I followed it up by killing the past version of my nemesis, an even more tragic mistake."

"It turns out, 'something' is protecting time and making sure it flows smoothly. Things like fate and the belief we live a predetermined life aren't necessarily real but time has a protector ensuring that everything moves to the correct flow. Different branches and different timelines form, but they all have a natural flow due to the protector."

"Nevertheless, as a punishment for breaking the regular flow of time, I was excluded from existing in time whatsoever."

"Being excluded from time let me see this place that I can't describe. I can only think of one word to even give the simplest description. Beyond."

"Beyond is unfathomably scary. Beyond is incomprehensible and doesn't normally exist. Mortals aren't supposed to view Beyond and neither are normal Gods like you supposed to either."

"Nevertheless, I survived viewing 'Beyond' because I split myself into a million pieces. All my thoughts, my entire life, were all scattered right before the Beyond and poof! I exist now. I don't know why one of my consciousness was in the form of a miasma, nor do I know why all of my pieces are scattered across time but I would like to be whole again."

"So, with all this information, I ask you to find the five fragments of me that can be found within this time. After that, I will regain the knowledge to manipulate time again and I can promptly leave while trying to regain myself."

Celine, who studiously listened to the entire story, had her jaw stuck wide open. An impossible time traveler, something even God's couldn't do, was right in front of her! And she was asking for help!

Celine cleared her head and got out of her daze while responding.
