'Boom.'
A figure is blasted from the top of a huge pagoda. Another figure is seen flying out of the building with a carefree and nonchalant expression on his face. Blood could be seen dripping from his face. The man blasted from the pagoda stood up with an indifferent expression. Even if he knew that his death was drawing near he showed no change in his expression. What was there to fear? If it is death everyone will die at some point. The young man is called Gyan.
"Have you made up your mind?" Gyan asked as he stood up from the rubble. The man ascending from the top of the building just snorted at him and stared at him in disdain. The man was called Kyrian. Kyrion was one of Gyan's best friends and the person he once grew up with ever since he was young.
"Gyan, the past is already behind us. We can't go back to that past . You are the cause for all of this. If you only you were not his son," Kyrion said and for the first time he showed a different expression.
"We can never change what has already happened. The past is already history. If you want to fight then fight already," Gyan said as he wiped dust off his now tattered clothes. For one reason or another Gyan has always hated explaining himself. In this life he was given the ability to cultivate and try to strive for the peak so he always used his fists to communicate. So what if they were once friends. The Kyrion he knew although had a fiery temperament he was always gentle towards friends but the then Kyrion and the one he was now facing were two different people. The Kyrion before him was not his friend anymore but someone who was now consumed by hatred.
Seven hundred years ago.....
This was where it all began. At that time Gyan who was just a few years born was on a journey with his parents but they were intercepted on the way. His parents were injured and could not fight. Moreover they couldn't bear to leave their son who was also injured so they escaped with their son but Gyan was bleeding and if not treated he would have probably died so they had to look for a way to treat his wounds.
At that time they met two couples on a boat and they gave the child to the two couples at the river while they continued to escape. That was where Gyan happened to meet with Kyrion. Kyrion was a refined young man who was at that time a cultivation genius. Well he still is a cultivation genius. He is now in the Return to Origin realm and was probably at the peak only a step away from the creator realm. When Gyan met him he was just at the peak of the mortal realm only a step away from the core condensing realm.
Gyan stayed with the two couples and Kyrion for ten years without seeing his parents. He did not know about what happened to his parents as after they left him they never returned until ten years later when Gyan was at the peak of the overlord realm and failed his ascension to the upper realms. That was when Gyan and Kyrion separated after ten years of brotherhood and friendship. They met a hundred years later and happened to have the same feelings for the same girl which was probably very funny. It was like fate was pulling them apart . That breakup from those many years was more of a precursor to their huge breakup a hundred years later. Gyan was willing to give up the girl and everything for a chance for things to be the same again but at that time Kyrion was determined and could not see any reason rather he thought of Gyan as a coward. After a fierce fight at Valhalla the duo separated. No one was clear about the results as Gyan at that time was only at the overlord realm but Kyrion at that time was at the first stage of the False God realm. Gyan left the city with a broken leg and his robe was sleeveless. Moreover their was an 'x' mark on his chest which was drawn by blood. After that Gyan went back to his hometown Nova city and declared that he would be going to seclusion for a long time. Since then nothing was heard about him and Gyan became a legendary figure that was praised by many as a genius of his generation. The same was true for Kyrion but unlike Gyan it was like he disappeared into thin air and no one heard of him after the fight. Gyan did not bother to search for him after that fight.
After so many years, these two old friends finally meet again but unlike before they meet as enemies rather than friends which was ironical. Gyan still had the same cultivation base and had not broken through yet but now Kyrion was many miles ahead of him yet Gyan was still able to put up a fight. Even Gyan could not understand why Kyrion was so hellbent on fighting him but he couldn't be bothered to ask or to explain anything moreover he knew Kyrion better and he knew that he would not listen to his explanation so he didn't bother.
"Let us finish what we left about six hundred years ago or what do you think?" Gray asked as he stared at Kyrion with a smile on his face even though he was injured." Back then,I was naive and fought you because of a woman but this time only one of us will leave this place alive and I am sure it won't be you," Kyrion said coldly as he stared at Gyan with a condescending attitude. Gyan did not reply rather he just stared at Kyrion with a soft smile.
A halberd appeared in his hand and his aura changed completely." Let us bring it to an end. Buddy accompany me on this fight one last time," Gyan said as he stared at the halberd." You have finally decided to take out your weapon. Let us get this over with," Kyrion said as a sword appeared from nowhere in his hand. He also stared at his sword and his aura completely changed. It was no longer refined and scholarly like before rather it was now fierce and bloodthirsty. He now looked more like an aura that came out from the depths of he'll.
"Kyrion,is this the only way?" Gyan said as he stared at his halberd and then sighed. He stomped his foot on the floor and appeared in the sky. An apparition of a dragon appeared behind him as he waved the halberd. The two engaged in a fierce exchange with no fancy styles rather they just fought using basic moves. Each move was filled with their understanding and essence of their weapons. It was the highest display of strength." It seems you have not been idling since you left," Gyan said after exchanging about a thousand moves with no one gaining the upper hand. Gyan knew that in this fight he was likely never going to win but it mattered not to him. He was Gyan.
He would rather die in a fight than die surrendering. Even on his last breath he showed no fear for death rather he only showed contempt in the face of death. His death did not matter to him. So what if he had no talent and could not break into the overlord realm. Despite failing to breakthrough he was able to fight with an expert who was only a step away from the creator realm. He was already satisfied and had no regrets.
With no suspense after another thousand moves Gyan lost the upper hand and was now completely suppressed and could not even fight back. At this point he was now all bloody and his clothes were torn and in tatters. Kyrion's situation was not any better if not worst as Gyan decided to leave him with many cuts. His body was also a mess. Even he couldn't remember the last time he was so seriously wounded. Just as his sword was about to cut off Gyan's neck an old man with white hair appeared . A sigh rang out throughout the whole city as a barrier appeared blocking the sword.
" Let it end this way. There is no need to go so far. He has already lost more than enough so let it be. He is already at the end," the old man said as he disappeared together with Gyan leaving Kyrion staring at him with a nonchalant expression. To him Gyan was already dead so no one could save him no matter what so he did not bother to pursue the old man. Moreover he was already severely injured and had to treat himself.
