The emperor entered the room and found the queen holding their son in her arms. He went and sat besides her. The queen stared at the emperor then at her son and the joy in her eyes could not be concealed especially while staring at her son." Your majesty, look at how cute our son is," the empress Victoria said as she passed the child to the emperor. The emperor Charles took the child in his arms and gently caressed his son with a smile which was followed by a pearl of laughter when he saw his son laughing. The child had golden eyes. The emperor could not help but dote on his son as he found him to be very cute. Moreover,the child seemed to be a genius at birth as when the emperor checked his talent he couldn't help but smile . He found out his son had a unique physique but he couldn't identify the physique that his son had. "Your majesty why don't you give him a name?" The queen Victoria asked with a smile as she stared lovingly at her son and husband. The emperor stared at the sky seemingly thinking of a name that would be befitting of his son. Just as he was thinking of a name an old man appeared before the emperor Charles with a sword in hand. The emperor was shocked as he failed to even notice the way in which the man used to enter their quarters. He stared at the man but he made no attempt to bow to the man even though he knew the old man had a higher cultivation than him. He seemed to not even care about that as if he did not put the man even in his eyes." Senior,may I ask the reason for your special visit to my palace today?" The emperor asked with a calm expression. The old man stared at the emperor and smiled." Charles,why do you act as a stranger before this old man?" The old man said while staring at the child curiously with a smile on his face." It has been a long time since I last saw you and besides I already severed my relationship with the family so why do you seek me today?" Emperor Charles said." The family is facing a hard time. You have been summoned back by the patriarch to aid the family as one of his sons. The other families have decided to gang up on our family so he can only depend on you. Your elder brother betrayed the family and I guess you know the reason why so we can only depend on you to help the family pass through this calamity," the old man said." The Rhys family and I are no longer related or have you forgotten that? It has already been so long that I thought you had all forgotten about me. You never bothered to visit me in your times of need but when you are now in trouble you come seeking me. I am impressed but as you can see I am only a mortal so you cannot expect me to fight against the geniuses of the other families,right?" Charles said as he played with his son in his arms.
"You can fool everyone with this false facade of yours but not me or have you forgotten that I raised you? I am only asking you to go back to the family besides before you left you said that if the family needed help then your sword will be the last link between us so fulfill your promise. A real man doesn't go against his promises. Remember no matter what you are still part of the family so if the family is annihilated then they will hunt you down and at that time everything that you have will be gone," the old man said and for the first time he noticed a change in Charles nonchalant expression as his brow creased. The old man decided to strike when the iron was still hot. After a while Charles finally agreed to go back with the man but the old man would have to wait. After a week of waiting the situation was now getting out of hand and Charles could no longer delay his departure. "I never thought that even after all is said and done I would still have to go back. Vicky,I am sorry. Once our son is old enough don't let him come to that place. I don't want my son to get involved with those old foggies. Forgive me for being unable to bring you with me back but when our son is old you can come over to that place," Charles said as his aura climbed from that of a mortal within matters of seconds to the core condensing realm before it stopped at the peak just a step away from the Lord realm. His figure soon started to disappear before he completely disappeared. Before he left he decided to name his son Gyan Rhys.
Gyan turned ot be a genius just as his father assumed as at the age of two he was now able to walk and had even started to read. His mother Victoria wad very happy with her son.
Five years later....
Gyan was now seven years and today was the day he was to start cultivating. On this day Gyan was very excited. It has been two years since his mother left him in the palace and in these two years he had learnt a lot. He had matured in these two years surprising many people. He taught himself the art of war at the age of four years and could even deploy the army which was not something a kid who was just four years could do. His mother left him a year after leaving the empire in his hands. Since then he had faced many assassination attempts at his life but he managed to survive past them.
He had almost lost his life many times that even he could not count. He was even forced to sleep with one eye open as he feared that he might be killed when asleep and he did not dare to even eat properly in the palace before his food was tested. He did not know where his mother went but he knew that she said she would come back to get him." Your highness, when are you going for your test?" One of the ministers asked during the morning court." Dear Duke of Chu, it seems you arr more interested in my test more than even myself it seems. Do you have any reports for me? If you don't then you are free to leave. The court is dismissed," Gyan said as he dismissed the court.
That same day Gyan privately underwent his test and officially opened his meridians. He was now able to cultivate but just as he was about to start his cultivation he experienced a splitting headache that almost killed him. He was unconscious for almost a whole night before he woke up the next day. When he woke up he found a cultivation method imprinted in his memories shocking him. Since he was now able to cultivate ,then this would definitely be a new beginning for him.
