Chapter 4 - First crush

Chapter 4

[Name: Tyler Haller]

[Age: 17]

[Level: 27]

[EXP: 1390\2700]

[HP: 270\270]

[MP: 0\0]

[Stats]

[Strength: 20]

[Agility: 20]

[Stamina: 19]

[Intelligence: 0]

[Charm: 7]

[AP: 29]

My charm grew naturally due to my age but my other stats didn't. No matter how much I worked out, no matter how many pushups I did, I just couldn't get them to increase.

With each level up, I gained three stat points that I could invest in any stats points I wanted.

I decided not to invest any of them in any other stat except for my physical stats. Even though I could have completed the quest all that time ago, but being a gamer, I knew that if I did without proper preparation, I might get a quest that would be even harder. I saved some stat points until the deadline.

The five years' deadline would end tonight.

I decided to wait until I got home to do this; invest the last of five stat points into stamina to push it to twenty and complete the quest.

I would still be left with a lot of stat points and I would only then decide how to invest them into anything.

The classes ended without a major event and I made my way to the doctor's office.

Why?

Because my childhood crush worked there. The only woman who ever took one of my virginity by giving me a handjob in the middle of a lot of pain.

Also because I had a debt to pay. If all those years ago, she hadn't considered my position, I would be a laughing stock to this day.

"Afternoon." I gleefully said as I entered the doctor's office. Lana, the school's doctor was sitting behind her desk checking some files with her glasses on.

I placed my bag on the side table next to the medicine cabinet, put on my gown, sanitized myself fully, and then put on my scrubs and gloves.

"Good afternoon." She said, still buried in the files in front of her, frustration obvious on her face.

"Need any help with that?" I asked.

"No, the help you already do is enough." She replied.

Well, that was because she wasn't allowed to have a staff at school. The students were encouraged to join clubs and the doctor's office was one such club. Students were advised to act as help and it was up to Lana to try to recruit them.

But let's be honest.

Who would want to be a nurse and do actual work when they could be anything else and not do any work?

Granted some guys came because of Lana's beauty but they were soon to give up when they had to treat injuries from the sports groups.

Lana even offered money for some to stay but money was of no use in this school where even the losers carried a couple hundred bucks as casual lunch money.

I was the only one who ever applied, voluntarily.

It surprised many as well because I was fit as hell. Even better than the instructors themselves.

But I still chose to do this and that too for free.

Needless to say, some enthusiasts tried to change my mind and even asked the principal but the principal knew better than to tell me to do something.

I had my grandmother as a backup.

And the excuse that I dreamt of becoming a doctor also played a part in convincing my grandmother.

Of course, she started to build a hospital in my name so that by the time I would get my medical degree, I would have an entire hospital at my beck and call.

Also, the reason why I decided to major in medicine. Since the lie had begun, might as well take it to the end.

"How was your day?" I asked Lana as I took my seat on the other side of the desk across from her.

"I have no problem answering that but when I asked the same question and you replied 'A good day', I'm gonna snap," Lana said, her head still buried in the paperwork.

"Then I won't ask." I jokingly said.

"Good choice." She replied.

"So what have you planned for the vacation?" I asked.

"I'm gonna cry myself to sleep every night, reminding myself how terribly single I am," Lana said.

"Then why not go out?" I asked.

"Because for some reason, I only ever attract nut jobs. My experience with dating's been so bad, I feel afraid of dating." Lana replied.

Lana had a bit of a difficult dating life and in the two years that I have been working for her, I only saw her getting ready for a date only once, which the next day she told me was ruined.

It wasn't that she wasn't beautiful.

At 5 foot six, with green piercing eyes, sharp features around the face, and her hair slightly reddish, she was a woman of any man's dream.

She was a woman of dead men's dreams, let alone happily married for years.

The only reason she had a so bad dating experience was exactly because of how beautiful she was.

With how beautiful she was, the first impression any man would get would be, 'She's slept with a lot of men'.

I wouldn't have blamed them had I not spent two years with her. I wouldn't say I know everything about her, but I will say I know enough to know that she just deserved to be happy with a decent guy.

"And what about you?" she asked.

"Well, I haven't deci--" I was about to reply when the door to the infirmary swung open and a group of boys carrying an injured one entered the room while yelling, "Doctor."

"Haa…" Lana sighed as she raised her head from the paperwork but I quickly covered her, "I got it. Don't sweat it."

I made my way to the group of boys who when saw me, scrunched their faces. Still, they said nothing to me as I treated them because none of them could. Each and every one of them had received their fair share of beatings.

It was no surprise guys like these would injure a less popular teammate to take him to the doctor's office to 'get him treated'.

But all they actually did was gawk at Lana. Lana knew that but there wasn't much she could do about it. That was why I volunteered to deal with cases like these.

Not to mention that I was very fast at first aid, anything that was not complicated and required a doctor's expertise, I was better at it than Lana.

Well, that probably contributed to my stats.

I just finished dealing with that guy when another group came in, girls this time. And no, this time, they weren't here to meet Lana, but me.

Still, I treated them without batting them an eye. After that, a few more students came in. Some were seriously injured while some trying to take advantage of the time.

Classes in our school lasted until 3 in the afternoon. After that, until 6 was the club practice time, and since most of the clubs were physical, the number of injuries was way much greater during that time period, whether intentional or unintentional.

That was why I also only helped during this time.

Lana couldn't hire a personal assistant because she was also doing this part as an option. She didn't have to be here after school hours and the school would have to pay her extra if she did, which she did.

But today…

"Before you go, I want you to know that I won't be getting in in the afternoon after the vacation," Lana told me before the clock was about to strike six and I was cleaning myself.

"Why?" I asked curiously because I had urged her to do the same many, many times but she never listened.

"I got a job in the new hospital, The Saint's General," Lana replied.

I was surprised to hear the name because it was one hell of a familiar name. 'I guess it's finished.'

Last I checked, my grandmother told me that she was nearly finished with the hospital and she was also conducting interviews on the side.

"Congratulations are in order then, huh," I said with a smile.

"Yeah. I mean, I was offered, and I didn't see a reason to decline given the crappy pay I get here for all the ogling." She replied.

"Good choice," I replied.

"But I guess there's one drawback." She said.

"What would that be?" I asked.

"We won't be spending time anymore," Lana said with a cute smile.

"Well, you can always call me and I will appear like a genie out of the lamp," I replied.

"Sure." She replied in an Arabic accent.

We talked for a few more minutes before I left for home after making sure she would be there for my big day.

She said she wouldn't miss it no matter what.

I returned home and saw the mansion being prepared while my mother yelled orders at the servants of the house.

I greeted her and then went to my room to get ready. There were still two hours left before everything so I made sure to finish the quest today.
