In a world where dungeons and monsters dominate the land, humanity thrives under the guidance of awakened talents—extraordinary abilities fueled by star power. For centuries, these powers have determined an individual’s fate, separating the strong from the weak. Jae-min, an ordinary student at the prestigious Titan Academy, is on the verge of despair. With the lowest star power in his class, he faces the grim reality of being unable to awaken a talent during the upcoming Talent Awakening Ceremony—a pivotal moment that will shape his future. Mocked by his peers and burdened by self-doubt, Jae-min believes his dreams of greatness are out of reach. But fate has other plans. On the brink of giving up, a mysterious *Star Power Amplification System* appears before him, offering an unprecedented chance to rewrite his destiny. Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

### **Chapter 1: The Awakening of Star Power**

The sun rose slowly over the horizon, casting a golden hue across the sprawling city of Vorn City, its towering skyscrapers and futuristic structures gleaming against the backdrop of a cloudless sky. The world had changed, but some things remained the same. And for Jae-min, the day that lay ahead seemed no different from the rest.

A typical morning at the prestigious *Titan Academy*—a school known for producing the world's strongest dungeon explorers and mages—began like any other. Students in their neatly pressed uniforms walked in clusters through the massive campus, their voices filled with excitement, chatter, and the usual pre-class energy.

Jae-min, however, walked alone. Unlike the other students, he lacked the natural radiance that others exuded—both figuratively and literally. The *talent awakening* ceremony was only three days away, and despite his high hopes, Jae-min knew deep down that he stood no chance. His star power was the lowest in the entire class. He was destined to awaken a talent so weak, it might as well be nonexistent.

"Why even bother?" he muttered to himself as he made his way to the main building, his footsteps heavy with the weight of uncertainty.

As the world around him buzzed with anticipation for the awakening ceremony, Jae-min felt a gnawing emptiness. He had grown up hearing about the glorious talents his classmates would unlock—abilities that could alter the very fabric of reality, control elements, or summon powerful creatures from dungeons. Talents that would make them heroes in the eyes of the world.

But what about him? What did he have to look forward to?

In the final stretch before the ceremony, the students of his class were already gearing up for what would be the most important day of their lives. And for Jae-min, it was just another reminder of how insignificant he truly was.

---

As Jae-min entered the classroom, his eyes scanned the rows of eager students. His classmates were a striking contrast to him—handsome, beautiful, and radiating with palpable energy. They spoke with confidence about what their awakenings would bring. Some of them already had a clear vision of their futures, knowing their talents would propel them to greatness.

Jae-min sat down at his usual desk in the corner of the room, away from the others. He leaned back in his chair, absentmindedly staring out the window. His thoughts were a swirling mess of frustration and resignation. He had been training for years, pouring his heart into every lesson, every sparring match, but his star power had never grown beyond a mere flicker.

The clock ticked louder in his ears.

Suddenly, a voice broke through his thoughts.

"Jae-min, you've been spacing out all morning. What's going on with you?" It was Ha-ri, one of the few people who still spoke to him despite his low standing. She was one of the brightest students in their class, her talent already growing at an exponential rate. Her long, dark hair and sharp eyes made her a striking figure. She was perfect, in every way that Jae-min wasn't.

"I'm fine," he said with a forced smile, not wanting to burden her with his thoughts. "Just thinking."

Ha-ri raised an eyebrow. "About the awakening ceremony? You're not really going to back out, are you? I mean, I know you're nervous, but you've been preparing for this for years, right?"

Jae-min just shrugged, not answering.

It wasn't that he didn't care. It was that, no matter how hard he tried, his star power had never risen. No matter how many dungeons he cleared or quests he completed, his potential was always just below the threshold. The *threshold* that every student needed to reach in order to awaken their true talent.

"You're going to be fine, Jae-min," Ha-ri said, giving him an encouraging smile. "You just need a little more time to catch up. Don't lose hope."

Jae-min couldn't bring himself to agree with her. He could see the hope in her eyes, and he wanted so badly to believe it, but deep down, he knew. His time was running out.

---

Later that evening, after a grueling day of lessons, Jae-min returned to his small apartment in the heart of the city. He sat down at his desk, the only piece of furniture in the room apart from the bed. The room was stark—bare walls, a small window with a view of the cityscape. He stared at the dull blue screen on his device, watching as the system flashed a message, notifying him that the *Talent Awakening* ceremony was only three days away.

"Three days," he murmured, his eyes heavy with exhaustion. "Three days until I prove once again that I'm worthless."

He ran a hand through his short, messy hair, a feeling of dread settling in his chest.

Then, as if the weight of the world had decided to settle even further upon his shoulders, something strange happened.

A soft, mechanical chime echoed in the room. Jae-min froze, looking around in confusion.

"What...?"

The air around him seemed to shift. The lights flickered briefly before stabilizing, and an unusual sensation crept through his veins, like the hum of electricity.

A deep voice filled his mind, smooth and neutral.

**"Congratulations, Jae-min. You have been selected for the [Star Power Amplification System]. Your current star power is insufficient for the Talent Awakening ceremony. However, through completing tasks, you will increase your star power and become eligible for the awakening process."**

Jae-min blinked. "What... what is this? A system?"

**"Correct. Your star power will increase by completing missions provided by the system. This will be your path to awakening your talent and beyond."**

Jae-min stood up, his heart racing. Was this some kind of trick? A prank? His body tensed, as if he was preparing for something—or someone—to jump out from the shadows and laugh in his face. But nothing happened.

"Is this... really happening?" he whispered, half to himself. "I... I don't have to just accept this fate?"

The voice in his mind responded calmly.

**"No. You may choose to ignore this system, but know that the potential to reach a higher level of star power and unlock your true talent is now in your hands."**

Jae-min's hands trembled as he looked at the blue screen that had appeared before him. There was a task listed there, simple enough to follow.

**Mission 1: Complete the basic training session.**

He could feel the weight of it, the weight of an opportunity he never thought he'd have. It was fleeting, just like the hope that had once burned in him when he was younger. But now, it seemed like something real. Could he really defy the odds?

"Three days... three days to prove them all wrong," he muttered, a newfound fire in his chest.

---

Little did he know, this was only the beginning. What lay ahead would push him to his limits, make him question everything he thought he knew. But one thing was certain—his journey was about to begin in ways he never could have imagined.

As Jae-min closed his eyes that night, the world outside seemed to stand still, waiting for him to take the first step toward his awakening.

And with the power of the system now in his grasp, he would find out what he was truly capable of.
