By the time Tyson returned to the lounge, the second match was already underway.

Contrary to everyone's expectations, the second competitor to take the stage was Ayako, whose choice of Pokémon surprised the audience—a trio of Magneton. Despite their name, Magneton cannot naturally learn moves like Self-Destruct or Explosion.

Ayako's opponent was a Fearow, a Pokémon known for its agility and aerial prowess. However, Ayako's Magneton demonstrated an equally impressive speed and flexibility in the air, thanks to its Magnet Pull ability. While this ability typically prevents Steel-type Pokémon from fleeing or switching out, Ayako used it creatively to improve the accuracy of her Electric-type attacks.

The battle showcased Ayako's strategic finesse. Magneton's mastery of magnetism allowed it to remain as swift and maneuverable as Fearow, despite the type disadvantage. Yet, to gain this upper hand, Ayako had to push her Magneton to its limits, much like Tyson had done earlier with his Charizard against Hitmonlee.

As he observed the battle, Tyson couldn't help but strategize. If he were to face Ayako, how would his Charizard fare against her Magneton? Though Magneton had exceptional resistances—immune to Poison and resisting ten other types—it was glaringly weak to Fire, Fighting, and especially Ground. Charizard's Fire-type moves would give him the edge, even with the Electric disadvantage due to its Flying type.

Still, Tyson reminded himself not to underestimate the competition. He glanced at Mizutani Raima, the aloof trainer who had yet to reveal the full extent of his strength. Others in the room could also be hiding formidable abilities. Tyson resolved to stay vigilant until victory was in his grasp.

The match concluded as expected, with Magneton's precise Thunderbolt overwhelming Fearow. Ayako advanced to the next round, proving she was a force to be reckoned with.

The elimination matches progressed, with each trainer revealing more of their strategies and Pokémon's capabilities. Unlike Tyson, who had the advantage of favorable type matchups, other trainers faced uphill battles. Those who still managed to withhold their true strength were nothing short of impressive.

The morning's final battle featured Mizutani Raima, whose Electric Pokémon, Electivire, squared off against a Charmeleon. The clash of fire and lightning created a dazzling spectacle that left the audience breathless. Mizutani dominated the match, controlling the rhythm with his superior tactics and power.

Unlike Magneton, Electivire posed a significant threat to Tyson. Its Electric moves wouldn't be hindered by Charizard's Fire typing, and its Static ability could immobilize Charizard upon contact. However, Charizard's air mobility and mastery of ranged attacks like Flamethrower and Air Slash would allow Tyson to dictate the pace of their battle. He remained confident that his meticulous training would carry him through.

With the morning matches concluded, Tyson returned to his hotel to practice his developing psychic abilities. Not only did these sessions sharpen his focus, but they also invigorated him—a perfect way to prepare for the next day's decisive battles.

The afternoon matches followed the same pattern: Tyson, Ayako, and Mizutani Raima advanced to the semifinals without much suspense. By now, it was clear that these three were the frontrunners destined for the final showdown.

Semi-Finals

The semifinals began with Mizutani Raima easily defeating his opponent, setting the stage for a highly anticipated finale. The next match pitted Tyson against Ayako, both trainers exuding an air of determination as they took their places on the battlefield.

"Magneton, Thunderbolt!" Ayako commanded the moment the referee signaled the start.

"Charizard, Flamethrower!" Tyson countered with equal intensity.

Flames and electricity collided midair, resulting in a burst of light and heat that drew cheers from the crowd. Unfazed by the spectacle, both trainers pressed on. Charizard flapped its wings, releasing a scorching Heat Wave that raised the battlefield's temperature.

Ayako responded swiftly. "Magneton, use Thunder!" The crackling bolts of electricity targeted Charizard, whose slower movement during Heat Wave made it vulnerable. Tyson quickly commanded Charizard to cease the attack and evade, shifting the momentum in his favor.

The battle turned into a war of attrition, with Magneton expending significant energy to maintain its attacks while Charizard's aerial mobility allowed it to conserve stamina. Spotting an opening, Tyson gave the order: "Charizard, Flame Charge into Flamethrower!"

Charizard enveloped itself in fire, accelerating toward Magneton before unleashing a devastating stream of flames. Magneton tried to retaliate with Thunderbolt, but
