Covered in flames, Charizard surged forward with unrelenting speed.

The earlier Ember attack had left Ayako's Magneton no room to recover. Ayako seemed caught off guard by the sudden escalation in pace. Scrambling for a counter, she called out, "Magneton, use Thunder!"

Tyson anticipated this. "Charizard, counter with Flamethrower!"

A torrent of fire roared toward the electricity, colliding in a dazzling explosion that electrified the crowd. Yet Charizard maintained its momentum, giving no quarter to the beleaguered Magneton.

"Charizard, Fire Blast!" Tyson commanded.

A flaming kanji-shaped attack surged forward, overpowering Magneton's Thunder. The residual embers struck Magneton, dealing further damage. Without missing a beat, Charizard executed another Flame Charge, closing the distance and maintaining its dominant position.

"Magneton, use Discharge and retreat!" Ayako called, desperation creeping into her voice.

But Tyson was relentless. "Keep up the pressure! Flame Charge, followed by Flamethrower—don't let them breathe!"

Charizard's fiery aura intensified as its speed increased yet again. Flames and electricity clashed midair, each collision forcing Magneton further onto the defensive. The Magnet Pokémon struggled against the searing heat and relentless pursuit.

"Magneton, Thunder!" Ayako shouted, hoping to turn the tide.

But it was too late. Charizard had already closed the gap, launching a barrage of Embers to disrupt Magneton's rhythm. With a final Flamethrower, the embers overwhelmed the Thunder, striking Magneton head-on.

Ayako tried one last desperate maneuver. "Magneton, use your strongest Discharge!"

However, the energy surging around Magneton only slowed Charizard momentarily. Wreathed in dragon energy, Charizard soared high and unleashed Dragon Rush, crashing down with immense force. Magneton was slammed into the battlefield, and a follow-up Fire Blast sealed its defeat.

The referee raised a hand. "Magneton is unable to battle! Charizard wins! Tyson advances!"

Ayako recalled her Magneton with a sigh. "You fought well. Rest now." Despite her disappointment, she acknowledged that both she and Magneton had given their all. Tyson's precise control of the battle tempo had simply proven too much.

Behind the Scenes

After the match, Tyson hurried Charizard to the Pokémon Center for treatment. Inside, he noticed Mizutani Raima—his next opponent—standing nearby. Raima's expression was smug, his tone dripping with arrogance.

"So, you're the one who made it through," Raima said, a condescending smirk spreading across his face. "As the sole heir of the Mizutani family, I'll give you an opportunity. Throw the finals, pledge your loyalty to me, and I might just spare you a little prestige."

Tyson didn't bother to respond. Instead, he brushed past Raima, heading directly to the nurse to ensure Charizard's recovery.

Raima's voice rang out again, louder this time. "What did you just say?!"

"I didn't say anything," Tyson replied coolly, glancing back with a look of disinterest. "But I'm starting to wonder if you're both deaf and delusional."

Raima's face twisted in fury, but Tyson had already walked off, confident in his abilities and unshaken by Raima's threats.

The Finals

As the final match approached, the atmosphere in the arena was electric. Raima glared at Tyson across the battlefield. "You'll regret disrespecting me," Raima sneered. "I'll teach you and your pathetic Pokémon a lesson you'll never forget."

Tyson tightened his grip on Charizard's Poké Ball. "Charizard, listen carefully. When we step onto that field, hold nothing back."

The referee raised his flag. "This is the final match of the tournament. Trainers, send out your Pokémon!"

Tyson and Raima locked eyes, their determination evident.

"Battle begin!"
