"I didn't expect your judgment to be so accurate this time. That kid successfully awakened."

"But I don't think he's someone who can be easily controlled. Are you sure he won't betray you in the future?"

Inside the golden-hued Saffron Gym, Sabrina, who had halted the ongoing gym battle, spoke calmly, her voice carrying a touch of intrigue.

"Don't worry. I have confidence in my ability to handle this," Shadow's voice replied through the communicator. "Besides, once he sees more of the bigger picture, I Believe he'll be more determined to align with me."

"Tch, let's see how you handle it if things fall apart," Sabrina quipped, her tone like that of a teasing child. Without waiting for a reply, she hung up the call.

At the hotel, Tyson sat quietly, reading through the book he'd received as part of Shadow's reward. His excitement was barely contained. While he had speculated about the reward, he hadn't expected such a valuable surprise.

The text detailed the intricacies of superpower awakening, distinguishing between innate and acquired abilities.

Innate awakening referred to being born with psychic abilities, while acquired awakening required external intervention—typically through the help of an advanced psychic. There was no inherent superiority between the two types; some born with abilities never advanced beyond basic psychic power, while others awakened later in life and reached extraordinary heights.

However, the process of acquired awakening was notoriously difficult. It demanded the guidance of a highly skilled psychic, and even then, success was not guaranteed. Most people deemed it too risky and expensive to pursue.

Now, with Sabrina's help, Tyson had successfully awakened his psychic powers. The book contained Sabrina's methods and personal experiences in psychic development—priceless information for anyone gifted with such abilities.

After calming his excitement, Tyson decided to begin practicing immediately. He followed the techniques outlined in the book, gradually tapping into the psychic energy within his mind.

It felt as though an untapped reservoir of power had awakened, and as he focused, the energy began to flow. Kadabra, ever observant, sensed the fluctuation of psychic energy in Tyson and seemed impressed by its potential.

As Tyson continued experimenting, he quickly realized his psychic abilities were still weak—capable only of minor effects, insufficient for combat. Pushing himself further led to dizziness, a clear sign of overexertion.

"Alright, everyone, relax," Tyson announced with a small laugh, shaking off his weariness. "Charizard, you've had a tough battle today—rest up. There's another knockout round waiting for us tomorrow."

Charizard settled into a comfortable position, while Kadabra stood guard, its psychic powers enveloping the room protectively.

Closing his eyes, Tyson focused on recovery. He practiced the techniques Sabrina described, allowing his psychic energy to replenish. Through repeated release and recovery, he could gradually enhance the strength and quantity of his abilities.

The book explained that once his psychic powers reached a certain threshold, he could attempt to expand the "source" of his abilities within his mind. Each expansion marked a breakthrough, with the third expansion signifying an advanced psychic level.

For now, Tyson focused on mastering basic techniques. The book included instructions for telepathy—a skill typically accessible to beginner-level psychics. Following Sabrina's guidance, Tyson diligently worked on it.

Moments later, Sylveon perked up, its ears twitching as it "heard" Tyson's voice in its mind.

Having seen Kadabra use telepathy before, Eevee wasn't particularly surprised. However, it grew curious about Tyson's newfound ability. Then, in typical playful fashion, it decided to forgo learning telepathy itself, reasoning that Tyson could handle it for both of them.

As Tyson practiced, Eevee communicated with him telepathically, its cheerful tone filling his mind. Though Tyson was elated at his progress, his ability was still new and unstable.

"Alright, Eevee, enough for now," Tyson said with a chuckle. "Let me focus so I can get better at this."

Sitting cross-legged, Tyson resumed his practice. His determination was twofold: to strengthen his abilities for battle and to ensure he could fulfill Eevee's expectant gaze without faltering.

Although sleep was unnecessary for advanced psychics, Tyson was far from that level. By 9 PM, he turned in for the night to prepare for the next day's competition.

The next morning, Tyson awoke at 6 AM, feeling invigorated. After a quick shower and another round of psychic exercises, he headed to the tournament venue.

The waiting room was filled with tension as only 20 trainers remained. At this stage, the matches had become one-on-one, with no room for error.

Tyson's presence did not go unnoticed. Among the competitors, he was one of the strongest, alongside the serene yet commanding Ayako, the aloof Mizutani Raima, and Tyson, another formidable trainer.

Settling into a chair, Tyson observed the subtle glances cast his way. It was clear—no one wanted to face him in battle.

For Tyson, this was a familiar feeling, and he welcomed it. After all, his journey wasn't about avoiding challenges; it was about rising to meet them, one step closer to becoming the strongest trainer in the world.
