Chapter 28: The Confrontation 2
Alexander arrived at the police station, his demeanor serious. He was determined to ensure that Eleanor faced the consequences of her actions. As he entered, the officers greeted him with respect, their demeanor shifting immediately.
"Mr. Hart, what brings you here?" the head police officer asked, his tone respectful.
"I heard someone who wants to harm my wife and unborn child is being bailed out. Am I wrong?" Alexander asked, his voice low and intense.
The officer hesitated. "Who are you referring to?"
"Eleanor," Alexander replied, his eyes narrowing.
The officer's expression changed, and he quickly informed his colleagues not to accept the bail. "We didn't realize the victim was your wife, Mr. Hart. We will ensure she remains in custody."
Eleanor, her parents, and her husband were shocked to see Alexander. "What are you doing here?" Eleanor asked, her voice filled with disbelief.
"I'm here to make sure you pay for what you did to my wife and child," Alexander said coldly.
Eleanor's mother stepped forward, her voice pleading. "Alexander, please! She didn't mean to hurt anyone."
"She nearly killed my wife and unborn child," Alexander shot back, his voice firm. "I won't let her go free."
The Family Confrontation
As Alexander prepared to leave, James mother stopped him. "Wait! You can't do this!" she exclaimed.
"Really? Why don't I tell the officer to keep her here for one month?" Alexander retorted, his tone icy.
"Alexander, you are being heartless!" James said, frustration evident in his voice.
"Heartless? I'm protecting my family," Alexander snapped. "Eleanor is a danger to us."
James's father stepped forward, trying to reason with Alexander. "Please, think of the children. They need their mother."
