Its been a year since i took Amber, she become more closer than i expected. Amber become the star of my cafe, everyone was having fun with her wgile drinking some coffee and eating some snacks. I'm glad i took her, because since i took her my cafe become more popular. She was my lucky girl.
The cafe becomes more lively ever since Amber lived with Elliot. More customers came to his cafe to hangout or find a peaceful place to do their works. Even Amber is kinda gluttony, she still controlling herself when serving some peoples around the cafe. At this day, Amber knew that the day was for her, since its the day she start living with Elliot.
"He probably gonna surprise me later! It was my anniversary!!", she said with a wide smile.
She look at Elliot trying to make him realize that it was Amber's anniversary. Sadly, Elliot look at her with a smile, looks like he didn't remember the day she lived with him. It makes her sad for some reason, she walk back at the kitchen, and took a slice of strawberry cake at the fridge. She sit at the floor, and start eating it with tears falling on her eyes.
"...i guess, i'll wait until night...and if he still not remember...i don't know..", she said.
She put back the slice of cake back at the plate, and leave it since she lose her appetite after thinking the worse. Even she was down, she continue assisting at the cafe while checking Elliot if he already remember the date of her arrival on his life. Sadly, he didn't remember until night has come, Elliot close the cafe so early because he needs to go somewhere. He came inside of the apartment, he took all his stuff and was about to leave the apartment but he remembers something.
"..oh yah, i forgot...", he said.
Amber get up immediately, and look at Elliot with a bright smile and excitement inside of her heart.
"...Amber, watch the house for me, i'll go in the mall...i need to meet someone..", Elliot said and left the apartment.
Amber's heart has shattered, not just he didn't remember her anniversary, but he also meeting someone. She want Elliot to focus on her, not with other woman who will hurt him for sure. She immediately change her clothes, and left the apartment to follow Elliot. As she got down the stairs, she was too late because Elliot already got inside of a taxi going towards the mall.
"...no!! I need to get inside of the mall!!", she took out her pouch, seeing if she have money.
Luckily she have, enough to get there. She wait for a taxi, and get inside of it.
"Sir!! Please to the mall!!", she said.
The man was confuse why a kid wants to go to the mall...ALONE.
"Hey kid, where is your parents? I can't just take you without your parents...", he said.
"Just take me!!!", she shout.
"...no i can't, where is your parents?", he ask again.
She got pissed, and kicked the driver's seat, bumping his back head at the seat. He tries to grab the girl but Amber already got out the taxi and start running towards the mall, luckily she knows the directions.
"...what's up with that kid?", he ask.
The alley was dark, only few lamps are working. Amber was running trying to follow Elliot at the mall, she doesn't want him toose interest on her, she want Elliot to focus himself to her, she doesn't want him to get hurt at the end. Even she was only a child, Amber knows what love means is, her mother told her about that, she must choose a person that will take care of her forever.
She run and run until she fell at the ground, tears falling on her eyes, her feeling is mixed with sadness and worrieness. Amber slowly get up, and start crying. Calling Elliot's name few times, she knows he will not come since he was busy meeting with someone. Suddenly, a hand touches her shoulder, a soft and gentle voice, speak behind her.
"...are you lost with someone kid?", a young lady speaks on her.
She stops crying for a while, she shook her head, indicating that she's not getting lost. The young lady get her up, and dust off her clothes. She wipes her tears with a towel, she smiles at Amber.
"...why you crying then? Do you want ice cream? I know some ice cream shop nearby..", she said with a warm smile.
The young lady has short, choppy, vibrant purple hair that mirrors her bold personality. Her piercing green eyes are sharp and observant, always assessing her surroundings with a mix of confidence and curiosity. She wears a practical clothing, often wearing an oversized graphic t-shirt paired with cargo shorts and sturdy sneakers. She look like a teenager, also the young lady has bandages on her hand and feet, some band-aid at her beautiful face. Amber nods at her, the young lady smile and took her on a nearby ice cream shop to have a talk.
The outside is painted in pastel colors, with a big sign shaped like an ice cream cone. There are a few colorful chairs and tables outside where people can sit and enjoy their treats. Inside, the shop is filled with fun decorations like balloons, rainbow lights, and pictures of happy faces. The counter has rows of ice cream tubs in every flavor you can think of, from classic vanilla to crazy mixes like cotton candy swirl. There's a topping bar with sprinkles, candy, and syrups so everyone can make their own perfect sundae. The staff is always smiling, handing out free samples and making sure everyone has a good time. Kids laugh, and families take photos with their ice cream creations. It's a happy place where every visit feels like a little party.
"..so, you following your brother figure? Why? Where he going?", she ask.
"...he will going to meet someone, that's what he said..", Amber answers.
"...oh? What's wrong with that?", she ask her again.
"...i don't want someone in his life, i want her to focus on me...i want him to be my number one priority!", Amber said while licking a ice cream.
"..aww, i understand that but you need to understand that no always, your brother figure will focus on you...he have other goals too...", she said to her with a smile.
"...don't be like my boyfriend who always want my time, even i'm busy in my school works...", she added with a slight smile.
"...is it why, you have bandages? Is he beating you?", Amber ask.
The young lady suddenly felt uncomfortable, she gave her another ice cream to eat, and look away.
"..oh, why don't i take you at the mall? We can go there with taxi..", she said.
"..ahh! Really? I tried it earlier but they don't let me, since i don't have my parents..", Amber said.
"Aww, don't worry i'll bring you there..", she said, standing up.
Amber get down, but ate the ice cream first with one bite. The two of them wait for some taxi, luckily there's one coming. They enter inside and ask the driver to take them at the nearest mall. The taxi drove away, and took them at the Central Mall.
Central Mall in the heart of the city. The outside has tall glass walls and a huge, glowing sign at the top. People come and go through wide doors, and there's a big fountain in front where kids love to play. Inside, the mall is bright and full of energy. It has several floors connected by shiny escalators and glass elevators. The shops are lined up on both sides, offering everything from clothes and gadgets to books and toys. In the center, there's a large food court with all kinds of food, from fast food to international dishes. The air smells like popcorn and freshly baked pretzels. There's also a movie theater, an arcade with fun games, and even a small play area for kids. The mall feels alive with music, chatter, and laughter, making it a place where everyone can find something to enjoy. This is the famous one around the city, everyone is going here to have fun or to spend their time with their love ones. On the other hand, Amber seems fascinated and full of excitement when she step foot at the mall for the first time.
"Wahh! Its so big! Big than our apartment!! Its so bright!! Lively!! Beautiful!! And looks fun!!", she said while jumping around.
"...well, glad you like in here...but i need to go now, he probably waiting for me now, cna you find your brother by yourself?", she ask.
"...yeah, i know him...i can take care of myself..", Amber said with a bright smile.
The young lady then left the mall, Amber walk around the mall searching for Elliot. Instead of finding him, Amber lose focus because of the huge food court in the center of the mall.
"..wahh!!! So many foods!!", she said and run towards the food court.
As she enter the food court, she suddenly see Elliot talking to a woman on a line. Amber felt heavy for a moment, seeing Elliot laughing with the woman its making her sad, tears slowly falling on her eyes. Peoples are staring at her, start judging her poor appearance, people whispering some weird thoughts about her, a little girl with poor clothing, crying or probably begging, dirty body. Because of the surroundings, Amber sobs and start crying at rhe food court. Everyone start yapping about her being noisy at the food court.
"Huh? Look a poor girl is crying over there..", the woman besides Elliot point Amber.
"...huh? Wait....Amber?", he ask and take a careful look.
"Amber? The girl you talking about?", she ask, Elliot immediately came towards her, the woman follows him.
He kneels infront of her, trying to calm her. But anything he do is not working, he even have her chocolate but she still crying. The woman hears the whispering of the people about Amber. She tapped Elliot and whispers.
"...let's take her somewhere..", she whispers and pull Elliot out of the food court.
They stay on a park outside of the mall, Amber told them why she followed Elliot all the way here.
"You serious? This is my bestfriend, she always helping me with some things here in the city, since i'm just new here...", Elliot explain to Amber.
"...i'm asking her help this time about a gift for a girl like you...its your anniversary right? This is the night you came on my life, you change everything...even my cafe", he added.
"...s-so you didn't forget about it?", Amber ask.
"..no, why would i forgot that? I just want to celebrate it the same time i met you...and since your herez and its already that time...i wanna treat you in the food court since that's your favorite place...", he said with a chuckles.
Amber smile widely and wrapped her arm on his neck, hugging him. Elliot smile and wrapped his arm too. The woman smile at them, and wrapped her arms on them two.
I don't know but...i feel proud on what Amber did that night, but of course its still had since she might get abducted by random people. Well, done is done i guess Amber become so closer to me, i become someone's important person on their life, i'm glad. I'm gonna do my best to give her a better childhood.
On a apartment building near the cafe, the young lady who help Amber, enter inside of her room. Once she get inside, a can of beer suddenly flew towards her head, it hurts her.
"...why you took you so long!?", her boyfriend said and it seems mad.
