Chereads / I Love You from the Other Side / Chapter 2 - Chapter one

Chapter 2 - Chapter one

The sound of waves in the sea was clearly invading my ears even in broad daylight.

It feels great and peaceful.

However, I nearly became agitated in the sun, but I want to hear and feel it repeatedly.

Even though my pale skin is burning from the sun, I continue to walk slowly until I reach the end of the island.

The opposite side of this place is blocked by a massive black stone.

When I look around, there is no path leading to the other side, but I can climb up this stone and enter the other part of this island.

"What are you doing here, Winter!?" When I heard my nanny's voice, I froze; she was both angry and horrified.

"I just want to take a walk." I respond, but to my dismay, she grabs my arm with force; the pain hits me suddenly, but I can handle it.

This is not the first time I have felt this way.

"Out in broad daylight! If your father finds out, he will kill me." She shouted in my face, which is why I struggled in her grip and began to walk back into our home.

That woman never allowed me to roam freely.

She is been angry and irritated with me ever since we returned to our home.

Perhaps because she no longer wants to take care of me.

I want her out of our lives; I know she likes my father and wishes to seduce him.

I always make an effort to prevent it from happening.

I will always find a way to keep Papa from marrying for the third time.

My father has married twice since my mother died, and each of his previous wives only wanted one.

That is Papa's wealth; his first marriage occurred when I was in elementary school; I was ten years old at the time.

It lasted three years before Papa discovered that the woman was gradually stealing money from him.

And his second marriage happened when I was in middle school, at the age of fourteen.

And, like his previous wife, she is doing the same thing, except she is also hurting me.

I was bullied by her and her sister, who also lived with us.

Dad was always preoccupied with his business, so he did not know everything right away.

I keep my silence because they treatend me to hurt him, I love my dad that's why I didn't report.

Then, knowing that he had heard the two, he did everything he could to punish them.

My father is wealthy and has many connections in Japan, which is why his marriage to the woman was quickly annulled, and he even imprisoned her.

Since then, he has never looked for a wife, and when I was in junior high, we moved to Australia because my father became ill.

He received treatment there, and this is where we met Laura, the nurse who cared for dad while he was being treated.

When we decided to return home to Japan, that girl came along and offered to be my nanny.

Yes, I am nearly seventeen years old, but I still need a nanny.

I have Albinism, a rare disease that causes me to be sick.

My hair is white, my skin is white, and my eye color changes whenever I am exposed to sunlight.

It means I am a weirdo, but this has never disappointed me.

I am still a person who wants to live a peaceful life, regardless of whether I am capable of doing so.

And I have a secret that is as big as my illness: I can see ghosts, or dead people.

I have been interacting with them since I was a child.

Because I am used to socializing with them, I am used to having someone constantly following me.

Aside from that, they are not evil entities; rather, they are wanderers seeking the light that will lead them to the paradise known as heaven.

In other words, they do not last long in this world, so I became accustomed to it.

Dad had already come down and was standing when I arrived home.

"You still go out even though it is extremely hot outside Winter." I waited for him to approach me after he said that.

After glancing at my attire, he simply grinned.

I am wearing boots, a heavy jacket, and jogging pants. I am also wearing sunglasses, so if someone sees me, they will think I am weird.

"Papa, I just want to go outside." I told him that I was supporting him to go to the living room.

Laura entered the scene and approached Papa right away.

She speaks gently and softly in front of Papa, as she always does.

I just shook my head, taking off my jacket and glasses.

"Yeah. I know Laura; maybe now is the time to talk." Dad had finished speaking, so I frowned.

Dad motioned for me to sit down, and I did.

"You should return to Australia now, Laura; I have asked my attorney to give you the compensation you deserve for caring for me and my daughter." This was like music to my ears, what my father said.
