.... Asher's POV...
"He's... coming, Asher!" She say looking surprised.
"Who, Adena!?" I say this time a bit annoyed.
Before she could say anything a man came he looks more than just rich . I'm not even bragging, he was deadly handsome. I leaned near Adena and whispered in her ear, "were you talking about him?" She nods .
Without even giving it a second thought, I punched him in his stomach hardly. "How dare you! Rich brat! You teased my friend, huh!?" Before I could say or do anything else to him I was pinned to the wall. 'this is gonna ruin my image ' I think, regretting what I did cuz he's stronger than I thought. I can't even move under his grasp.
"How dare you,huh!?" He looks directly in my blue eyes with his grey ones . He looks almost 30 years old.
His question filled me with anger. " And how dare you to harass my friend?"
"Harass?" His grip loosens around my wrists as he looks towards Adena then back at me . " And what makes you think that?" A smirk playing on his lips. I literally want to slap his smirk , how can he still be this relax after doing this to my friend.
"It's clearly written on your face!" When I was about to lose control on myself and actually going to scratch his pretty face. Adena cuts in. " Will you guys please stop!?"
"What? I'm helping you!" I say annoyed by her ungratefulness.
"Shut up, Asher!" She rolls her eyes and turns to that man . "I'm sorry, mister.....my friend misunderstood you." She glares at me like she'll eat me alive.
"Misunderstood...?" He says looking amused. "So he should be the one saying... sorry, right?" He says looking in my eyes with unbearable intensity.
"I didn't misunderstand anything. You don't need to cover-up, I'll handle him . Just tell me what he did to you, Adena." I say with my jaws clenched, thinking she's trying to keep me away from trouble.
"Asher...will you come with me for a minute?" Adena says with a fake sweet smile on her face.
"Talk right here.." the man orders with blank face but I know he's enjoying our conversation and I hate it.
Before I could say anything Adena puts her one hand on my mouth and says, "as you wish, sir."
Her voice lowers as she continues. "I was running because I saw him coming here . Not because he harassed, because I thought he's rich and you can get a job, cuz I know you don't want to work for the king." She says in a persuasive tone making sure no one except us three heard our conversation. She removes her hand from my mouth. I look down in regret.
" Ummm, sorry for my behavior." I say in a low, hesitant voice.
"Uh...what ? I didn't quite hear what you just said." He says teasing me.
My cheeks red by controlling my anger, I look at Adena she signals me stay calm with her eyes. " I said, I'm sorry for my behavior." I say a little louder.
"And....?" He says enjoying seeing me helpless, and I hate being like this, it's not I've never been helpless before, but when I hate when the opponent is someone rich.
I was engrossed in my world of thoughts when Adena pinched my shoulder and gestured me to talk.
"And , I misunderstood you, I'm sorry for it." I say , actually feeling guilty.
"I'm not convinced.." he says simply with blank face. I don't understand why is it so hard to read his expression.
" How can we convince you?" Adena asks as I let out a cold sigh at his words.
"What is wrong with you? I know it was my mistake, and I apologized for it! What do you want now!?" I say frustratingly.
"I want you to work for me."
