Aura stood in the middle of Logan Mason's luxurious penthouse, feeling completely out of place.
The last time she had seen him, he had been sitting in front of flashing cameras at his press conference, shutting down rumors with his usual effortless confidence. Now, just days later, she was standing in his living room, watching him pour a glass of whiskey like they were old friends.
"You look surprised," Logan said, leaning casually against the sleek marble counter.
Aura folded her arms. "I am."
He arched an eyebrow. "Why?"
She narrowed her eyes. "Because you're a damn celebrity, Logan. And yet, you asked me to come here like it was the most normal thing in the world."
Logan smirked. "It is normal. You're my…" He trailed off, tilting his head. "What are you exactly?"
Aura stiffened. "A complication, apparently."
Logan let out a low chuckle. "A very interesting complication."
