Avery's was quite narrow. In her opinion, her sister moved back in mainly because she was worried about her getting hurt again or being bullied by Ethan. On the other hand, it was also to take care of her and ease her worries.
However, Ethan saw things differently. He had long seen through Alexis' intentions for moving back in, and they were definitely not pure. Regardless, he would not let Avery know. Her thoughts were too simple and not suitable for knowing such things.
The most important thing was that this time, he would not let Alexis cause any trouble. He would nip it in the bud and deal with any low-level means of buying people's hearts immediately.
At other times, he would ignore her as much as possible and try not to have any direct contact with her.
But with another person suddenly under the same roof, Ethan felt like there was an extra thousand-watt light bulb. During dinner Alexis sat next to Avery, constantly serving her food and soup, acting like a good older sister.
After dinner , she followed Avery to the bedroom. When Avery went to take a shower, Ethan peeked through the door crack and saw Alexis rolling around on the big bed. Avery was unaware of all this.
Ethan thought that as long as this woman did not cause any substantial harm to Avery, he would turn a blind eye.
Tonight, he had planned to sleep with Avery in the bedroom.
However, he had a serious case of cleanliness, both physically and mentally, and could not accept any woman other than his wife sleeping in his bed.
Ethan returned to the study and sent a text message to Avery:
"Go to bed early tonight, I'll sleep in the study, no need to wait for me."
Avery had just come out of the bathroom, wearing only a bathrobe. Her phone received a "ding" notification sound.
Coincidentally, at this time, Alexis heard the sound and half sat up, ready to take the phone on the bedside table, but was preempted by Avery.
Avery wasn't too wary of her older sister, so she came to the other side of the bed with her phone, just as she lay down and saw the text message from Ethan. A place in her heart was instantly emptied.
In the afternoon at the Wells company, she had already made a deal with the ice-faced man to give herself to him tonight. If he continued to sleep in the study tonight, how could that be possible?
She and him were already husband and wife. He even called her his wife, acknowledging that she was his wife, so they couldn't sleep in separate rooms anymore.
Thinking of this, Avery quickly made a new decision.
She put away her phone, turned her head, and found her sister staring at her phone, which startled her.
"Sis, you scared me." She patted her chest, took a few seconds to calm down, and said, "I have to get up early for class tomorrow, so let me take you back to your room to sleep."
Alexis felt dissatisfied in her heart, but smiled on her face. "No need, Avery, I'll go back by myself. You do whatever you need to do, don't worry about me."
She put on her slippers and walked out of the room, closing the door behind her.
After Alexis left, Avery didn't immediately go to the study.
She couldn't concentrate on modifying the ring design when her sister was around.
She took out the draft paper and sat in front of the dressing table, biting her pen and thinking hard, but still couldn't come up with any ideas. Even looking through the materials didn't help.
Although she was in a hurry to revise the draft, Avery knew very well that when it came to designing, inspiration couldn't be rushed.
After sitting for about twenty minutes, the clock hanging on the wall showed that it was almost eleven o'clock. Thinking of Ethan who lived in the study, Avery ended her contemplation and quickly tiptoed out of the bedroom, heading straight for the third-floor study.
Little did she know that as she went upstairs, Alexis, who was staying in the guest room, quietly followed her to the third floor.
Outside the study, Avery knocked on the door softly and said, "Hus...husband, are you asleep?"
She felt awkward calling him "husband" after calling him "Mr. Blackwood" for so long, but she didn't want to see Ethan frown again, so she forced herself to say it.
Maybe if she said it a few more times, she would get used to it.
Inside the study, Ethan had just finished his work.
He closed his computer and opened the door, surprised to see Avery standing pitifully outside the door, holding a pillow in her arms. A hint of surprise flickered in his indifferent eyes.
"It's so late, what are you doing in the study? Didn't I tell you to rest early? Why aren't you obedient?" As soon as he finished speaking, Avery walked in with a red face.
"I, I want to sleep with you tonight." She lowered her head and walked to the bed in the small compartment behind the desk, placing the pillow on the bed.
As a married couple, there was no reason for them to sleep in separate rooms right after getting married. Avery had decided to be a good wife and if he didn't come to the bedroom, she would come to the study to find him.
Seeing her come in, Ethan's lips curved slightly.
He closed the door and walked slowly behind her. His deep and mesmerizing voice was cold but with a hint of charm, "I forgot that my wife said she would offer herself to me tonight."
Hearing his words, Avery's face turned even redder.
It was already not very reserved of her to come to the study in the middle of the night, and now hearing him say this, she felt even more embarrassed.
She simply lay down on the bed, covered her face with the pillow, and muttered softly, "Hate you."
These two words, like a coquettish act, made Ethan's heart tremble. It was as if something had hit his long-buried heart.
It was coquettish, but also provocative.
The man looked at the girl lying on the bed, her face covered with the pillow, and his handsome face showed a complex expression.
Step by step, he walked towards her. The closer he got, the faster his heart beat.
Never had she thought that her heart could be moved by someone again.
Is it because of Avery? No...
There was a clear answer in his heart.
It's not because of Avery, it's just because of her face.
"Be a good girl and move the pillow away." The man stood in front of the bed, bent down, and as he spoke, he had already moved the pillow that was blocking Avery's face.
Looking at her shy and blushing little face, Ethan felt a special sense of cuteness.
He took off his suit jacket and unbuttoned the first two buttons of his shirt at the same time.
The half of the face that was so beautiful that it was suffocating slowly came into Avery's view , and his delicate lips were about to kiss her.
Looking at the man's handsome face about to come down, Avery felt inexplicably nervous, but still obediently closed her eyes.
