"This is indeed something to celebrate."
Seeing Milo and Murdoch reach a preliminary agreement in just a few words, Redstone raised his glass with a smile. "I believe this calls for a toast."The amber liquid clinked against Milo's glass, and Murdoch promptly downed his whiskey."This is just the beginning," Milo said, not taking a sip but swirling the wine in his glass and gazing down at the party below."Yes, just the beginning," Murdoch echoed, exhaling a long breath. The Australian tycoon then frowned. Both he and Redstone had finished their drinks, but Milo's glass was still full. Was he being intentionally disrespectful?Following Milo's gaze, Murdoch also looked down. The main party area was a scene of dazzling lights and swirling conversations, with gentlemen, socialites, celebrities, and wealthy women gathered in small groups. Disney's party was a large affair, with two to three hundred guests, all of whom were important figures—at the very least, rising stars in the entertainment industry, or owners and executives of small to medium-sized film companies. The sheer number of people and the lively atmosphere made it impossible for Murdoch to discern what or whom Milo was looking at."Excuse me," Milo suddenly said, his voice quiet but audible amidst the boisterous conversations. He placed his glass down and turned to leave, his long strides making him stand out among the older men.Michael Eisner, noticing this, had to interrupt his conversation with Warner Bros. CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg. He walked over, looking questioningly at Murdoch and Redstone."What's wrong? Did you two upset our young master?" "Young master" was the private nickname these Hollywood power players, these media tycoons, had for Milo Blackburn.Redstone shook his head. His and Murdoch's positions were higher than Eisner's. While Michael was the CEO and Chairman of Disney, they were the true owners of their respective media empires. Eisner, however powerful, was still an employee, albeit a highly successful one. They were the bosses. When they were speaking with Milo, no one else dared to approach. They were at the top of this particular food chain.Murdoch remained silent, and Eisner didn't press him. He joined Murdoch in looking down at the ground floor. He saw Milo weaving through the crowd, quickly reaching a small group in a corner of the main party area. Milo seemed to be in a heated discussion with one of the men in the group.Eisner couldn't help but ask, "Are those people from his film company?"Redstone and Murdoch didn't bother to answer such a trivial question."One of the women seems to be the female lead in his film," CBS CEO Donaldson Duncan, standing next to his new boss Redstone, offered. "She's been on some of our network's TV shows. I don't recognize the others."They then saw Milo and one of the men in the group engage in what appeared to be an argument. The man was gesturing animatedly, looking agitated."I don't think we're the ones who upset the young master," Murdoch said, a hint of schadenfreude in his voice, his eyes fixed on the scene below. "Michael, it looks like one of your guests has displeased him."Michael Eisner was speechless.Just then, they saw Milo wave behind him."The man talking to him is Robert Downey Jr.," Donaldson Duncan added.Robert Downey Jr. was a well-known name. The tycoons had all heard of him. Three years prior, he had received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of Charlie Chaplin in the biopic Chaplin, even winning the BAFTA Award for Best Actor. He was considered one of Hollywood's most promising young stars, hence his invitation to Disney's party. They now saw that Milo was gesturing to a waiter carrying a tray of champagne."What's he doing?" Redstone muttered. They soon found out. Milo took a glass of champagne from the waiter's tray. Without hesitation, using his significant height advantage over Downey Jr., he slowly poured the champagne over Downey Jr.'s head. The liquid, whether wine or champagne, drenched Downey Jr.'s meticulously styled hair and face."Fuck!" Eisner cursed under his breath.Trouble had erupted.Eisner immediately turned and headed downstairs without a word."Hahaha," Murdoch chuckled, gleefully. "This is going to be interesting."All the guests on the second floor crowded around the railing, eagerly watching the scene unfolding below.Downey Jr., soaked and clearly furious, began yelling at Milo. The soundproofing was too good for them to hear what he was saying. However, the "young master" apparently heard him and reacted. The tycoons saw Milo suddenly strike out, quickly slapping Downey Jr. several times."Oh, he's hitting him," Redstone said with a light chuckle. The old man's tone was so humorous that it drew laughter from the others.Disney had been thriving in recent years, and their competitors couldn't help but feel a little envious. Tonight was Disney's night, their important party. This disruption was something they were more than happy to witness. It was Eisner and Disney who would lose face.Downstairs, the slapped Downey Jr. was clearly stunned for a moment. Then, enraged, he raised his fists, ready to retaliate. But Milo was faster, stronger, and much taller. Before Downey Jr.'s fist could connect, Milo kicked him, sending him flying. At that moment, Disney security and Eisner finally reached the scene. Robert Downey Jr. was helped to his feet and restrained from further confrontation. Michael Eisner stood beside the towering Milo, speaking to him."Tsk, that was over quickly," Sumner Redstone said, sounding slightly disappointed.Donaldson Duncan commented, "If it hadn't ended there, it would have been a one-sided beating. Judging by their sizes, three Downeys probably couldn't take down Blackburn."Redstone didn't reply. He saw Murdoch heading downstairs. He knew exactly what Murdoch intended to do and, without hesitation, followed him. The other tycoons quickly caught on and began making their way downstairs as well.
