After the end of the Second World War in 1945, with the rapid industrialization and technological advancements, earth made all the way into the 2000s many thought another world war was impossible.
Many imagined that with how destructive the weapons of the 2000s were all forces in a bid for self-preservation would hold back on using their arsenals and that the people of Earth would only see a full-scale warfare when humans become interplanetary species and though they were right they were at the same time wrong.
After the Second World War, humans never fought against themselves on a full scale again, but that didn't stop Earth from experiencing a third, fourth and fifth world war and the period of these wars is collectively called the Advent.
During these three subsequent wars, rather than humans fighting humans, they instead found themselves fighting alien spawning portals during the third world war, earth native beings during the fourth and then a full-scale alien invasion from outside during the fifth.
Maintaining their independence and sense of identity after all these wars meant that Earth had been successful but this success came at a price.
By the end of the Fifth World War, the entire world system and geography had been restructured, technology had halted and began downgrading and the humans of current were nearly in no way comparable to those of the past.
All within a century, Earth had changed so much that it would be unrecognizable to the fathers who saw the First World Wars and one of the major reasons for this was the release Tao into the planet.
First discovered and named by the Asians of old, Tao was an energy which spilt into the earth after the alien portals began appearing.
It infected all living things on earth, mutating them over time and by the time a decade had passed leaving changes that at one point could only imagined by the minds of humans.
The changes to the planet were all drastic and consequential, but the change that left the most glaring effect was that on humans.
Super strength, super speed, the ability to breathe fire, the ability to even fly, by the end of the third world war, humans had gotten the ability to perform feats which had once been thought of as impossible.
Despite the efforts of the leaders of the world to acclimate their people to these new changes they horribly failed to manage society and it was only some years after the Fourth World War that the chaos that plagued the world was brought to a stop and a sense of peace was felt by human.
It took the appearance and end of the fifth world war for human civilization to regain a semblance of what it had once been.
Ordered was restored, and an age which saw humanity's most prideful time in the last two centuries was born, the age of heroes.
....
Letting out a yawn as he tried to fight off the sleep that crept around the corner of his eyes, Nash stared at complicated symbols on the board of the classroom his eyes reading the question and solving it in his mind before then moving to the greenery outside the classroom.
It wasn't that Nash was a genius but that he read, and well quite frankly that was all one need to breeze through simple teaching of high school.
"I wonder what the likes of Einstein and Isaac would think if they saw the schools of today" Nash thought but then a grin appeared on his face as he imagined them first being disappointed in the backwardness of the education of the current time before now spotting a hero flying through the air.
Nash imagined their round glasses falling off their faces and them closing their fallen jaws as they rushed over to the hero and began trying to make sense of how he could possibly be defying the once treasured laws of physics.
"Poor Newton, he'll probably curse till the end of the earth."
The thought of an old wised Newton fretting about had Nash chuckling but then he quickly covered his mouth and bent his head, heaving a sigh that the teacher still had his back turned to him and hadn't noticed his nuisance.
"But still though, imagine if we had these great geniuses present in this time, I'm sure they would have found a way to not just detect but also isolate and control Tao"
This thought had Nash gripping his fist tight, a sigh leaving his lips some seconds later as he looked at his watch and calculated how much time he had before he needed to be at work.
Minutes went by and after the bell that signified the end of school was rung, Nash silently left the class unbothered by his classmates as he made his way out.
After paddling under the trees that adorned his streets, enjoying the cool breeze that blew, he pushed his bike into his one-room apartment, collapsing into the bed for some seconds before going to make himself some noodles.
Digging into the hot meal in his bowl, Nash booted up his computer and scrolled through the news highlight that popped up for some seconds.
"Woodman swings in to save the day after..."
"Rachel set to sing at the birthday of Suleman Abdul son of the richest…..'
"Amazon people increase quota of men allowed into their country, click to see requirements to qualify…."
"Frank Heshnetz proposes new theory for steam engine."
As a virile man, well a soon-to-be one, Nash's gaze lingered on the call of the Amazonian's call for more men and he couldn't help but sigh and look forward to turning 18 next year so he could apply to go there.
With a shake of his head, Nash closed the headline page, a smile coming to his face as a web page which contained the image of a man dressed in yellow came into view.
"Yellowman"
Though the name truly wasn't the best and could use a lot of work, it was what he had been given and as the hero he loved and admired the most Nash could only respect his wishes and go about calling him Yellow Man as he made his regular posts about his life and achievements.
Taking a look at a writing and picture he had posted early in the morning just before he went to school Nash raised an eyebrow as he saw that there was a comment.
With a smile, he opened the comment, but after reading it, the smile which had been on his face disappeared and dropping his bowl of noodles to the side he went full-blown warrior on the comment.
