Chapter 2 - Mirror tray and the Crystal ticket

Be sure to keep coins for your travels no matter how much profit you think something might bring, it was a motto he held himself to for overtime it seemed that he spent all his coins on any business venture he always got screwed. So Tristan always made it a habit to keep some savings close to his chest to never spend lest it was an emergency. His savings were much larger now that his company had expanded so much but some old habits die hard, he Always kept a pouch of gold coins tucked in his breast pocket and a second pouch on his waist for any purchases he might make. While his wallet pouch had many a kind of coin for any expense he might have the pouch he kept tucked close to his chest only held 42 coins, it held about 40 gold coins, a sum large enough to buy a house and live comfortably for the next few years, and with those 40 coins he held 2 platinum coins, a denomination so large most people thought it didn't exist because they had never seen a platinum coin in person, normally only nobles and royalty had such wealth but the Ashcroft merchant company was an exception to most people.

That night Tristan prepared for bed, he found it quite lonely but he was not the type of man to simply bring a stranger to his room because he feared being cold at night. He poured a small drink, tequila it was a spirit he imported from the south, their warm climate grew quite the number of products he sold in the city, drinking it down in one shot he took the necklace from around his neck and the pouch of coins from his breast pocket before placing them on the tray he now had on his nightstand. Laying down to enter the land of dreams he almost thought he had heard a whisper but thought nothing of it as he hard the russling of the winds scrape against the window.

Unbeknownst to Tristan the carvings on his bedside tray began moving as if alive then started speaking to one another" to think this man not only found a caravan station but a crystal ticket aswell what fortune this man must have." The silver carving spoke with a hint of surprise in his tone.

" Not only that," corrected the golden carving "He Even has enough platinum to travel first class the gold is a nice bonus too." He seemed to look around for a moment before he looked back at the carving made of silver. " It seems we have a Vip passenger on our hands to think we'd find one on this barren planet I didn't even know if this world even had any tickets to collect we've been eating stuck at the station for so long.

The silver carving corrected his colleague. " You know very well the caravan never goes anywhere where there isn't a profit to be made and even more so we never leave till our debt is paid, I suppose this young man is the reason boss told us to stay.

" Well then, let's give this young lad the journey of a lifetime, to bad he only has enough for a one way ticket. Hope he can find his way back someday.

" That's not our problem though is it were just the ones that check the ticket." The Crystal necklace resonated and glowed with the light of the cosmos as the golden and silver carving grabbed it at the same time. Like magic it sunk into the mirror tray adding a new crystal the the surfaced decoration. The gold and platinum melted like wax as the golden carving glowed in response the silver carving looked a little annoyed at the action " alright fine," the golden one said. " I'll give you an 8th of my coin as compensation no more alright.

" Works for me" the silver carving smiled at his friends action they each grabbed hold of a glob of platinum, the golden carving broke off a tiny chunk and threw it to his friend. As they grabbed hold of the platinum they devoured it in one go as if they hadn't eaten in years. Their eyes seemed to gain a faint glow as if the platinum had given a blind man back his sight with a spectical of light.

Without any further argument a hand of reflective silver bulged up and broke out of the mirror trays center. Grabbing hold of the scruff of Tristans silk nightshirt all that could be heart was a faint scream as his eyes shot open only to see himself being dragged into a mirror tray, he tensed thinking someone was about to slam his head into a table but before he knew it his entire body had fallen right through the table tray and out the other side. All around him was black with streeks of reflective silver flying past his eyes. He couldn't tell if he was falling forever or if it only took a few seconds, all he could remember thinking is, ' I must be dreaming' but the pain that assaulted him after he hit the ground told him far different. He didn't understand anything after that passing out cold in a sleep he never even realized there were two beings glancing at him as he was knocked out

" Is this really vip treatment Im not so sure."

His golden companion seemed to understand what the silver merchant was asking. " You've never delt with a Vip before have you it doesn't mean the ride won't be bumpy, vip just tell us how important his next journey should be, think about it like this if he was a regular rider he might just end up some side character or something. From the looks of it I think we just have a Ride to a new MC."

"MC what's that" the silver merchant asked confusion plastered all over his face.

" Think about it like this, do you remember who you were before you joined the caravan?"

" I think it's been so long I can't really remember I think I ended up escaping my planet tho, it was quite the feat we were stuck on the digital age hitched a ride on a passing mercenary light cruiser."

" Well that makes things easy the best way to describe it is that at one point you were and MC, how may people defy the rules of their planet to explore the cosmos completely by chance?" A look of realistion speared on the silver merchant's face. " Alright then let's get moving" with a crack of a whip a wooden cart showed up in front of the two, after they got on it a ripping sound was all that could be heard as they disappeared like a flash of light.
