Chapter 51 - Mysterious Onlooker

As Hagan dashed toward his supposed father, Amara shattered the glass of the one way mirror and intercepted Hagan while he was jumping above the table. The two of them flew back and Hagan head connected with the wall. The concrete turned into a web of cracks, and a macabre blood spatter filled them. Hagan's body went limp and the sword dispersed. Hiram shot up and glared at Amara.

"What have you done to my son?!"

"Sir, you need to calm down. I understand he's your son and you are plenty powerful yourself, but I can't allow you to get injured."

"Did you really have to do that? You could've killed him!"

Amara looked at Hagan and her eyes widened.

She only now realized how much force she used while suppressing the meager young man. She looked back into the room she's butted though then quickly dashed away.

Hiram ran over to Hagan and caressed his head, applying slight pressure to where he was bleeding from. He had an extremely worried expression and was being careful with his body. Hagan could have a concussion or another severe head injury and too much movement could put his life in more danger.

Hiram flicked his head back at the detective and the two other people standing behind the shattered mirror, glaring at them. Hiram summoned a Keepsake and doused Hagan's head in water, cleaning off the dried blood along with the new, wet blood. The more blood that poured from Hagan's head, the more grim his expression became. Hagan lost consciousness and his armor was dismissed from his body, revealing bloody bandages. Hiram's jaw dropped at the sight of his sons body riddled with scars. Some seemed to be shallow cuts while others were deep incisions. Hiram wasn't behind the glass while Hagan poured his heart out to he had no idea what had happened while he disappeared for nearly a year.

Hiram watched helplessly as Hagan's face paled more and more with each bit of blood lost.

"I'm sorry, my son. I'm so sorry I wasn't there, that I couldn't be there with you, your sister, and your mom. I'm sorry I couldn't save her."

Hiram silently sobbed as he did his best to keep his son from bleeding out in his arm.

Subtly, the air in the room changed, the light faltered, the shadows faltered, and something else did as well, it was near imperceptible but Hiram noticed it. It seemed as if everything around… slowed but also sped up, as if time was warping. Hagan's body changed subtly as well, he slightly tensed and the bleeding was slowed.

Then, Amara threw the door open and a man in hospital scrubs followed her. He had a needle, thread, and bandages in his hand. It seemed that she didn't merely run away after nearly killing Hagan, she went to fetch a doctor instead.

The doctor rushed to Hagan and took him from Hiram's hand. He cleaned the wound a little more with Hiram's bottle and began to sow together Hagan's torn flesh. His fingers moved quickly but efficiently, neatly closing the wound while keeping a steady hand.

Hiram and Amara watched with anticipation boiling in their hearts.

Another person was impatiently watching as well. They were an unclear image, seeming to be an amalgamation of everything while also appearing as one, familiar form, elusively evading recognition. Somehow, an anxious look was painted on their indescribable, mysterious face. nce the doctor finished stitching, four people let out a relieved sigh, the doctor, Amara, Hiram, and the mysterious spectator.
