Chapter 63 - Declaration of WAR

The nose of the jet erupted in flame as a detonation pilloried the plane mid-flight. Wind howled into the cabin with righteous fury as flames licked up the walls, fuel lines bursting out with intense propulsion as the electronics sparked and fizzled. A golden energy field surrounded every person in the jet as sparks flew off said energy and splintered into the remainder of the screeching structure around us.

Momentum launched hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of alcohol and other luxuries from the now opened cockpit. The only reason we hadn't been swept away was the timely reaction of Artoria, Twitch and the Uchiha Shinobi who all used their own powers to aegis us.

Blinking rapidly, attempting to process what had just occurred, I looked behind me and noted all of the Uchiha, most of them still alive. Voices and shouts were muffled amidst the howling of wind through exposed metallic framework and jutting flames. This didn't stop Artoria from praying, her golden apocalyptic energy surrounding all of us still. Just as comfort began to sputter within me, it was snuffed... Momentum grasping onto the exterior of the jet and pulling us down.

The entire remaining parts of our aircraft were spinning on the X-axis, flames trailing from the engines and smoke building within the little space that we had left. My eyes darted over to Twitch and Susan, the latter wide-eyed and feeling frightened.

"TWITCH! Get Susan out of here now, treat her as if she were your own master. We'll reconvene on the ground!" I had to shout, my attempts to voice my commands slightly dulled by the impact of other wreckage into the side of our cabin.

"Yes Master! Trust me, I'll do this." Twitch didn't hesitate any further, seriousness glimmering across her eyes, turning red as her hair became bright white... Like Kaneki's from that one anime. Susan tried to yell out to me but was whisked away by my servant as she pulled some angel wings from a chat screen and clicked her fingers. Within instants they were gone, or should I say, we had plummeted even further.

"Artoria, is there any way that you can save us?"

"No. I do not have the ability to fly, I can perhaps save you, but the others would be an impossibility."

The Uchiha all looked at me with acceptance in their eyes. All of them were thinking I'd let them die for my own safety... They were all obvious delirious, as If I would take the easy way out!

"Fine! Then let me try to do something."

My consciousness slithered inside my own mind as the buds that were present for psychic powers flexed and snapped towards me. Their movements resembled sea-weed as they moved.

The plane tumbled over and over itself as Freya began to float in the air. Artoria grabbed onto her and looked out through a fractured window, the lights of an expansive city unfolding below them. Uchiha clung to the walls with Chakra as they too worriedly looked outside. A group of them began to pull out substitution Jutsu papers, but that was a desperate attempt from the outset.

I moved closer to these sprouts and witnessed Yggdrasil expand before me, my skill tree. Each of these buds resembled a power that was possessed by me but locked behind a pay wall... A skill-point wall. Looking in desperation at each of these sprouts I witnessed hundreds of Psychic abilities locked behind certain paths. Each sprout cost five points to unlock. Five points were required for each ability unlock in the unlocked path.

The plane was now slightly rotating along the Y-axis, the front open section now revealing city light as everybody clung onto the cabin in desperation. "Master! PLEASE!" Artoria begged the woman who had just saved her from her failure.

Each bud had a psychic ability attached to it... Each level inside said path corresponding to a strengthening of said ability in major ways. Telekinesis hung above one singular bud. Without hesitation I expended all ten of my skill-points to upgrade my Telekinesis. Power began to flow, but I ignored it, snapping out of my mind space and reintegrating myself with reality.

Buildings were now tumbling past us, or more aptly, we were tumbling past them. Purple energy flickered in my eyes as my entire mind expanded to take in the space around me. All of my summons and the Jet I had rented filling my mind-scape as my very first ability, Telekinesis, flexed with the strength of a whale breaching the ocean and splashing down.

Momentum slowed powerfully as the rate at which we were falling slowed. Wind howled and then imploded as we exited terminal velocity. The G's were horrifyingly powerful outside of Artoria's shield as our Jet was now listing completely vertical, the road of some city showing below us as we plummeted towards it at a continuingly uncomfortable rate.

"WHOEVER DID THIS WILL PAY FOR THIS, A MILLION TIMES OVER...!!!" My words exploded out as the wreckage impaled itself into the road below. The plane itself was prodding from the ground like a cross as remnants of the plane pierced cars and people alike, screams ushering over the entire area.

On the top of a nearby building. a duo of masked men had stopped, one in particular stopping the other as the wreckage wreaked havoc over the economic district of their city and caused mass hysteria.

"Little D! Hold up!"

...

Omega stood next to a Patriot SAM; Surface to Air Missile, system as around him were many pale figures. Red eyes regarded him neutrally as all of them were dressed in spec-ops uniforms of American make.

"Hahaha! Thanks bastards! That techo-bitch is now dead and Beta still thinks he has everything in hand... Hehehe, all we need to do now is steal her company and her tech, then we'll have a distinct advantage over those other dickheads."

A spec-ops man stepped up and handed a tablet over to Omega whilst he revelled in the fire that still sparkled through the night-sky. His expression which was already happy extended even further into an evil full-teethed grin.

"HAH! That Lex Luther is such an unlucky fucker! DESERVED! Really... Just as we do this he launches a new cooperation with DARPA, how helpful of him."

Sirens wailed in the distance as the missile's presence wasn't hidden for the most part. His smile remained the same, his tablet being torn to shreds without any movement as the SAM behind him melted into a molten slag-heap, a flaming man directing massive amounts of flames into every section.

"OMEGA! Tell me where my sister is!" The flaming man stopped his destruction of evidence, rounding on the relatively short looking Omega.

"Oh? That's right, you were here, weren't you..."

"STOP PLAYING WITH ME!"

Omega chuckled a little, his average stature shifting with the growing laughter.

"Hehehehe, I am not playing with you. I just showed you where your sister was."

The flaming man frowned, his flames growing brighter orange with some of the fringes sparking into blue.

"What!? What do you mean!?"

Omega shook his head and walked past him, the pale soldiers walking alongside him as the flaming man followed his movements.

"Your sister was on the plane, dickhead. Really, how Reed ever worked alongside you is a question for the ages!" The flaming man reeled backwards, stepping onto his back foot as if he had been speared by something. Shock, anger, hatred, sadness, all flooded into him at once.

"YOU BASTARD!!!"

"You're a little late. Alpha."

"Apologies venerable Omega, complications arose of chaotic nature."

Omega winced as a shadowed figure began walking beside him.

"That Joker up to things again?"

"Indeed, in fact, the host of Nabu was fighting him alongside the Bat Man."

"STOP IGNORING ME BASTAR-"

A spear of blood jettisoned from the hand of the 'Alpha' figure into the heart of the flames... Heat dying down as what were once flames morphed. Skin, eyes, clothes, hair, Jonathan Storm was revealed fully now as a lance punctured his lungs and liquified around him. Gasps beginning to cry out into the night.

"Heh! Should of shut the fuck up Jonathan." Omega walked off as Alpha followed beside him, a pitch black cape dragging along the open courtyard as they both dispersed into shadowy ink within a dark flash.

Minutes passed as Jonathan slowly died, a singular figure dropping down from a rooftop... A bat symbol flaring in the sky behind him as siren wails called out ever closer. The last thought Jonathan had before slipping into unconscious was of his precious sister... Who he had killed...

...

In Cerebro Xavier awoke from the machine's interface and immediately tapped an emergency button, several of the X-men rushing from their bedroom down into the massive chamber.

A minute passed in nervous waiting as the X-men assembled, all of them waiting outside of the chamber for the old man. Xavier himself wheeled himself outside finally and closed the chamber behind him, his eyes starkly cold and angered.

"Professor, what is wrong?" Storm was the first to speak.

"Our friend, Freya, has been attacked. A missile of some description was turned onto her plane and lead to the destruction of her Jet. A perilous fall proceeded, plunging her and her plane into the heart of Gotham."

"Is she dead?" Xavier ground his teeth a little at that before exhaling slightly.

"I can't confirm, she is very powerful now. It is possible she survived... In order to find that out I need everyone to go over and find out."

Logan sneered but grudgingly accepted, he was rather annoyed from being woken up. Jean was contemplating her time with Freya, which was admittedly small, and found herself feeling a touch sad at her possibly having been killed.

"We'll go right now professor." Cyclops spoke up for the entire team and quickly darted away, all of his fellow X-men following after as Xavier watched on feeling slightly helpless. All he could do was sit here and watch the happenings of a friend's predicament.

...

As the Uchiha and Freya tumbled through the air Shisui and Naori received text messages from their clan members guarding Freya. Both were having dinner together as they discussed the political meanderings of Washington DC... Both looked down at their phones.

"This is a declaration of war..."

"Indeed. Now, we need to find out who did this and hunt them to extinction."

Shisui nodded in agreement as he began flaring his chakra. This entire event would be discussed in the Senate tomorrow, the media would get wind of it minutes from now, and the entire military would hear of this not too long afterwards. The American Government would soon be in full swing, attempting to find the source of this attack.

"Naori, contact the Mikaelsons. If we can, I want them to immediately head over with the rest that the clan can spare... We need to confirm if Freya survived or not."

Naori wordlessly agreed and began making calls as the entire power structure Freya had created began to churn powerfully, menacingly, all towards the singular goal of ensuring her livelihood and discovering who their foe was.
