"He's Headmaster Piercen, a well renowned mage that is in charge of the school. He's pretty amazing, given his size afterall."
"How could someone so small be in charge of everyone?"
"Well, he was a top student at this academy many years ago…he's probably around three hundred years old now or so…"
"Three hundred!?"
His yells were clouded by more cheers of the students and clapping. He focused back on his words as the shorter statured man continued to speak to the kids out on the street. He adjusted his cloak and tie before speaking some more.
"You all must be very excited to start a new semester here, some new, some old. Some from near, some from far…but at the end of the day, you all came here to excel. Not only in this wonderful kingdom, but this wonderful academy. I hope to see your faces brimming with joy as you learn under these wonderful professors and learn the many techniques passed along through the academy from the beginning of our history here in Auradelle."
He then clapped once before a magical projection appeared behind him, shocking many of the students seeing how seamlessly he cast it. Information was shown on the projection, showing information on classes, a map of the school, and some smaller details for students to remember.
"You will all be placed into your classes shortly, students who were already attendees will be placed back with your class from the previous semester, while our new inductees will take a trail in the courtyard, held by yours truly! I love seeing the latent potential in each of my new students, so placing you all in the correct courses should be easy as dye!"
"Sir, it's 'as pie'."
"Oho! Excuse me for my blunder, I'm not the best with the talk of today. Though let me be frank and say I'm excited to see what you all can do…"
Suddenly, the projection shifted once more to show which direction each of the types of students would be heading after the introduction speeches were over. Current students would be heading down to the main hall, while new students would be heading to the courtyard for the evaluation trail. Dante looked at the protection and gulped as he held his wand in his pocket. His nerves were all over the place from the commotion happening around him. Terra suddenly tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.
"Hey, you got this! Don't worry too much about doing well, just try your best and see what happens. You've already gotten through the paperwork and fees so no matter what, you'll have a dorm and class."
"I know…but I'm not the best at casting, I barely even know how to use a wand…"
"Really, just do your best. When you're casting…think of a small flame."
"A small flame?"
"Yeah…usually each spell is chanted and followed by a word to seal it. So…when you try to do the spell asked of you, think of the small ember at the tip of your wand…and imagine shooting it in a straight line."
"Will that help?"
"I'm…not too sure, but do your best and you'll be fine!"
