Chapter 49 - Exchange - Chapter 6

After some time traversing the busy streets of Auradelle, the three finally arrived at what seemed to be a workshop of sorts. Looking at the glass window outside of the shop, Dante looked to read out the words, painted in golden script on the glass.

"Holdensburg Creative"

"Where prized possessions become much more."

"Huh, what does that mean Terra?" Dante said as pointing at the script. She turned to look at it and gave a small yet light laugh. She had a feeling the shop would surprise him, as he'd never seen such back in the village. She stood next to him and explained to him exactly what her godfather did for a living.

"He's a wandmaker…tinkerer…and somehow really good with paperwork. He's a pretty handy guy when it all comes down to skill. Though he can often get caught up when he's invested in something, or someone." She then looked Dante up and down before the door suddenly flung open. This startled the group as they looked up to see if it was Grant that had done so. But to their surprise, there was a small figure stepping out of the door at the time.

"I'll catch ya later buddy. I got some deliveries to make in the undercity, those grubby dealers down there don't like to wait!"

A red tail waved behind him as he walked by the three. It was like before in the tavern, where another cat creature came along. Dante stared intently at their big ears and lowered eyes. They wore a blue bandana and had a satchel on their back. The group looked at him curiously as he seemed to notice the amount of eyes on him.

"Folks, it's not a gallery. So quit it with the staring!" he snapped as the others flinched back in response to their snippy attitude."

The three stepped back slightly as he adjusted his bag before scurrying off about his business. Looking back at the door, they were greeted by the same man from before. He had his sleeves rolled up and goggles on his head, he seemed to have just finished working on whatever the feline had taken with them.

"Didn't expect you to come over so fast, you brought them over like I asked."

We then opened the door wide, allowing them inside. Dante took a glance around, looking at all of the different wands and blue prints of different items. The three continued behind him as he led them to what seemed to be an old office in the back of his shop. Sheets of paper and bolts were scattered across the ground.

"Sorry about the mess, I didn't get the chance to clean up after I got into the swing of things here. I'll get your paperwork ready Dante."

"No, it's okay. I don't mind."

"Our talk earlier ended up getting me inspired, I was just conceptualizing some things I'd like to run by you after—"

"Ahem."

Terra's cough to attention stopped the man in his tracks as he fumbled around his desk for the paperwork needed to establish not only his newfound citizenship, but his endorsement from an established family to be able to attend the academy with no trouble. He grabbed his pen as he began to write out his details before getting to the spots where Dante would be needed.

"How old are you?"

"Sixteen sir."

"Birthday?"

"May 25th sir."

"Birthplace?"

"Riverant Village…sir."

"What did I tell you about calling me sir…?"

"Sorry sir– I mean Grant."
