Chapter 50 - Exchange - Chapter 7

As they continued to fill out the documentation, Grant looked up to him before getting to the last bit of information needed. His eyes seemed as intense as when he first met him, though it seemed he had gained the favor of such a man in a short time.

"You said you were nameless, correct?"

"Yes…"

"Well, the most I can do for you is endorse you and send you on your way, when it comes to your family name, that's something you're going to have to figure out on your own. Do know, that in the academy, you may be looked at differently by others due to this fact."

Dante looked at Terra as she frowned at the statement, knowing that no matter what she did, he couldn't join their family due to the same sentiment. He turned back to Grant with a slightly confident grin on his face.

"I guess I'll have to make a name for myself then."

Grant's expression shifted to one of amusement as he picked up the paper and handed it to him. It's grainy texture felt as if it was really official paperwork. He looked over the information and smiled. Knowing that he'd finally obtained his ticket to getting into the academy. The others clapped in joy at the achievement as Grant sat at his desk and looked at Dante.

"You know you're going to have to turn a lot of heads to rise up for other families to want to take you in. It'll be a tough road ahead, if you need some recommendations to strive for, I'd suggest…"

Dante's face filled with a toothy grin as he looked over his name on the paper. The family name section was bare and unaccounted for at the moment. He turned to look outside of the window of his office and was able to see the wide assortment of buildings surrounding the academy's walls in the distance. He took in the sight with his eyes and turned back to him as everyone focused their attention on his words.

"I'll make a name for myself alright…"

A flash of a memory seemed to be recalled as he watched a flock of birds begin to soar in the sky, covering the sight of the academy with their widespread wings. Soaring in the sky, unbothered and free as always.
