"Kara! Kara! It's the first day of senior year". Nareen yelled from the stairs.
Kara woke up in shock. She picked up her phone from her table and checked the date and time. It was August 16th, 2023, 11:00am.
"What the.....". Kara said in shock but got interrupted by her mum.
"Sweetie, what are you doing? You are not even dressed. You were so excited for senior year, what's going on. Did you have a bad dream? You can share it with mummy". Nareen said and touched Kara's forehead.
Immediately, Kara remembered the words of Angel Michael. "Say nothing about what happened here".
She quickly took her mum by the hand, forced a smile and said "Mum I'm fine, I overslept. Guess I was too excited that I couldn't sleep at night. Give me fifteen minutes, I'll be down".
Nareen felt something was off, but ignored her feelings and left the room.
As Nareen left the room, Kara went to the bathroom. She glanced at herself in the mirror. "What is truly going on? Was all this a dream". She asked herself.
"Yes, an awful dream. Hurry, take your bath and get ready to slay today at school". An awkward voice spoke to Kara.
Kara paused. She recognized the voice. Though slightly different, she could tell it was Lucifer. "Why did his words sound enticing?". Kara thought to herself.
She stood, looking at herself in the mirror for some minutes before she finally took her bath.
When she got out of her room, she thought of what she would wear. Then she remembered, she had arranged her outfit the night before. It was a blue mini skirt, with a blue crop top, and a blue high boot.
She rushed to open her wardrobe and Lo and behold, the outfit was right in front of her.
"Oh my God! If you wear this, you would look so sexy. Remember who's going to prom queen, it's you. You didn't get to be this last time". Lucifer spoke to her again.
Kara unintentionally smiled. It has indeed been her dream to be that prom queen but it didn't happen at that time instead her best friend Becky took the crown. Then she thought to herself. "How possible would it be, that I was in heaven. That was all a stupid dream. What, I am to lead the people I mislead back to God. This is crazy. This year I am going to become prom queen".
"Yes, yes, it is indeed. Quit thinking and put on the dress". Lucifer tried persuading her.
The moment Kara tried to pick the dressed.
An image came to her mind. It was her father burning in hell. She remembered the things he said to her.
"Kara, Kara! Kara! You made it. You made it. I am sorry that you have to see me here. I didn't live the right way. I knew all the laws God gave, but it was so hard following them. It was so hard being a true Christian. I sold my soul to the devil for success. I did all manner of things. I am glad that you made it there".
On remembering that, Kara burst into tears. "It was real. It was all real". She said to herself.
She began scanning through her wardrobe for a descent wear. On the process of searching, a long pink flay skirt fell from the top of her wardrobe. It was a gift from her grandmother. It looked so descent.
Kara smiled, she picked it up and got herself a simple shirt to match with it.
She moved over to the mirror and applied a simple makeup, then she styled her hair and ran downstairs.
"Kara, honey you took a long t...". Nareen paused on the sight of Kara's outfit.
