"The man who said I should call for him was no where to be found when I needed him," I grumbled in exhaustion as I stomped my way back to Tobias's mansion.
I had discovered I really needed his presence halfway through the arrangement process but he was no where to be found thus a situation had come up at his company headquarters 30 minutes prior and he had to go sort it out.
Lora and Annalise were having a conversation I didn't bother getting involved in and laughing to themselves as they strolled behind me. Janetta whom I'd come to notice to be the serious one was off to spend time with her parents for a week.
"Only the Supreme Being knows how tired I am," I groaned out as I arrived at the door of the mansion, nodding tiredly at the guards at the entrance in greeting before I shoved it open and ambled in.
I leaned on the wall and carefully untied my shoelaces, releasing a breath in relief as I discarded them, Lora and Annalise strolling past me to climb the stairs, probably to finish their conversation.
Dragging my feet to the nearest couch, I slumped in the seat, leaning my head and back on it. As I tried to catch my breathe, my nose caught the aroma of something nice.
I slowly unraveled my lids and sat up, my eyes and nose scanning the perimeter for the source and it didn't take long for the source to appear in the form of Tobias.
Dressed in only black sweatpants and a towel around his neck, he appeared more delicious than whatever he was bringing out from the kitchen, his skin glistening under the glow of the living room chandelier and his abs on display for my eyes only.
His eyes hadn't met me yet but it was clear he was aware of my presence from the crooked smile that curved his lips as he perceived my scent and felt my gaze on him.
Not giving him the pleasure of saying something cocky hence I knew he would be anytime soon, I hurried up from my seat and strode toward him as he placed the dishes carefully on the dining table.
"Something smells delicious," I announced as I approached the dining area.
"I'm thinking you meant to say I look delicious," he said in a smirk and I scoffed, folding my arms. "Your intense gaze were about to swallow me if it was possible."
"Whatever makes you sleep at night," I rolled my eyes and leaned over the chair on the side of the table to fix my vision on the nicely fried chips and chicken dipped in tomato sauce.
The sight and appealing scent made my mouth instantly water and my stomach let out a growl to remind me I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast. "Sorry."
"I figured you'd be hungry after the day's stress," he snorted, his glance shifting briefly to my stomach before back at my face.
"I have to be," I murmured in a sigh and pulled out one of the chairs, instantly getting seated. "You were out before the main work began."
"Yeah about that." He scratched his forehead with his index finger and I was surprised to see him show a sign of nervousness as he stared at the plate of chips instead of my face. "I'm really sorry. It was a matter I couldn't ignore."
"It's fine," I chuckled nervously, his behavior making me nervous too as it was my first time noticing such reaction. It was a new discovery that felt weird and at the same time? Surprising to the point of awkwardness.
"Are you sure?" He raised a question, lids narrowing in my direction his stare showing disbelief as he peered at me.
"I am," I assured with a wave of my palm.
"You aren't annoyed or a bit disappointed?" He interrogated and my mouth almost hit the floor in shock.
Turning away from him to face the door I muttered the words, "what the fuck happened to the ruthless and heartless Tobias?" I didn't make a sound as I asked the silent question to no one in particular. I didn't ask it in my head for fear of him hearing me through the mind-link.
"I'm not Tobias," I repeated, angling my head to smile genuinely at him though my eyes must have given away my surprise.
"Okay," he nodded and pulled out the chair at the head of table. "I guess I was a bit worried that I cooked to help fill you up and soften the mood."
"I should be getting angry often don't you think?" I implored in a smirk and he sent me daggers through his blue eyed vision.
"Thank you for the meal," I rushed to say and instantly diverted my attention the food before my very eyes. I grabbed a plate and fork and began piling chips on it. "Is it good to eat chips at night? Or should I say French fries?"
"Do you want to eat or do you want to worry about your calories?" He growled out the question, seeming upset and I suddenly felt foolish.
Here was a man who was worried I would be angry and hungry and went the extra mile and I was stupid enough to wonder if I could eat it or not.
"I'm sorry again Tobias," I apologized and grabbed the large spoon beside the sauce bowl and scooped a portion of the sauce to sprinkle over the fries.
^^^^^^^^
"So what was the issue at work?" I implored as we were halfway through dinner. To be honest I was on my second pile up of fries while he was halfway with his first pile.
I munched on the food as if my life depended on it. Heck my life depended on it thus I needed food in me to survive. I had never remembered the last time I was that hungry.
Even back at the Blood pack, the only good thing I enjoyed was the abundance of food, regardless of Lincoln's stupidity, I had unlimited access to the kitchen as the Luna, therefore I never starved.
"One of our investors showed up unannounced at the headquarters and wanted to check out how the factories in the vicinity were doing," he said in reply to my question.
"Shit," I let out in understanding of the situation that pulled him away earlier in the day. "Is this investor a human or otherwise?"
"Human," he blurted in a calm tone. "You know how a few of them can be."
"Werewolves can be petty too so it's no surprise," I shrugged and picked up a napkin to wipe my lips as I was done eating.
"True," he concurred and leaned back in his seat, pushing his plate that still had some fries on it with sauce away.
"You don't seem hungry," I frowned.
"Oh I am," he declared and sent me a look. "For something else though."
Catching his drift, I slowly rose from my chair, my eyes focused on his as my lips curled in a seductive smile. Flipping my hair over my shoulder I crossed my leg over his and sat on his lap, my face nearing his till our breaths mixed together.
"Mmmmmh," he hummed at the sound that followed as his palm descended on my ass and I quivered, inhaling a deep breath at the sensation that sent to pussy. "I thought you were tired?"
"Well I'm not anymore," I bit my bottom lip and eyed him. "I have to make sure you get satisfied."
