After Lucius woke up, he went to the bathroom to take a bath and after that aat on the bed with a towel covering his family jewels. Nothing about him had changed or at least he thought so. From the information he had gathered, he learned that there were many cities like this one but with different names and only one of ten names could be given to a city.
Fire City, Water City, Earth City, Wind City, Sun City, Moon City, Light City, Dark City, Lightning City and finally Snow City. The city could only be named after these cities.
He also found out that cities had different grades and Bronze Level Cities being the lowest grade city and Platinum Level Cities being the highest level. The grade of the city determined the Level Cap of its citizens. For example, in Bronze Grade Cities, only people at Level 0 to Level 20 could live there, anyone above that would be automatically be teleported to a higher grade city.
There was Bronze Grade, Silver Grade, Gold Grade, Diamond and Platinum Grades, each housing higher level beings. And not just that but that Guilds also existed here, together with the Holy Church and the Mages Tower. Each of these organisations was a force to be reckoned with and didn't take kindly to insults. These organisations valued their public image more than anything so very few people crossed paths with them.
While Lucius was still digesting all of this information, there was a knock on the door but before he could answer, the person had already entered. It was a middle aged man with silvery eyes, blond hair, and a crystalline body as though moulded from diamonds. This man wore a white doctor's coat and had an amiable smile planted on his face. He was very good looking.
"It's good that you're finally awake. My name is Robert and I'm a healer hired by Guest Inn to serve wounded guests or potentially wounded guests like yourself. The others woke up much earlier than you but what's important is that you woke up." said Robert patiently.
"Lucius Loth… wait! Did you just say there were others like me who are also here?" Lucius who was in the middle of introducing himself couldn't help but ask. As fellow Earthlings, they had to look after one another right and he was hoping to find his family.
"Well, some do have the same skin colour as you but there were others with a much lighter skin tone and…"
"Great! Where are they? Can you take me there to meet them, I'd really appreciate your help Sir Robert." said Lucius while interrupting the man.
"I wish I could help you with this but unfortunately I can't. Many of them died while adventuring in the wilderness and the rest levelled up and were teleported out of Fire City."
"Do you have drawings of the deceased? I'd like to verify if any are my family or friends or just people I know."
"Of course we have their illustrations. I kept these drawings for this exact moment but the Holy Church has already buried them. After All, even if we wanted to, we can't have corpses just lying around for six months so they were buried after a week of their passing." explained Robert.
"Of course! Of course! For a corpse, six months is a really long time…WAIT! WAS I ASLEEP FOR SIX MONTHS?!!!" Lucius widened his eyes in shock and even dropped the drawings on the floor. He had thought that a few days had passed, a week at most. Never did he expect six months to already have gone by.
"If such a long time has passed, why aren't I dead yet from lack of nutrition or at least skin and bones, I haven't eaten for six months after all!"
"That's simple. I've been taking care of you this whole time so of course dying is impossible. And I've been feeding you a nutrient solution every week to ensure that your body is full of energy and vitality. It's not for free of course. After your awakening at the Holy Church, you'll have to pay back the Inn all the money owed so there's that."
"If you don't mind Sir Robert, I'd like to be alone for a while. Also, can you provide me with some clothes, I'm not used to being naked for such a long time." said Lucius.
"Of course. Here, I've kept your clothes for you in my storage ring, you can have them back. As for a diagnosis, I don't think there's a need for it anymore since you've woken up and from my analysis, you're fine."
"Thank you again Sir Robert." said Lucius while shaking Robert's hand. What he didn't realise though was the Mana Robert transferred into his body that moved as quick like lightning and did a full body scan. All he felt was comfort and that Robert's hand was really warm. Robert then quickly left Lucius's room with a sigh of relief. He was probably relieved that Lucius had finally woken up.
Sitting alone in his room, Lucius was lost in his thoughts as he truly didn't expect for such a long time to have passed. Not just that, he actually recognised some of the deceased as his distant neighbors. He didn't know whether to be grateful that it wasn't one of his family members or sad that he didn't have a lead on them. He hoped that they were safe wherever they were.
Ge sat in the same position for an entire thirty minutes before coming back to his senses. He quickly wore his clothes, shorts, shoes and t-shirt and walked out of his room. It was finally time for him to get some fresh air and tour the city.
…
Robert, the healer who had just left the Guest Inn, walked around the city as though he didn't know where he was going but his steps were firm and calculated so he was obviously going somewhere. After a few twists and turns on a few alleys, he finally reached his destination. It was a small house no different from the rest and not conspicuous.
He then knocked three times before opening the door, entered and closed it behind him. The house only had a table and chairs, on the table was a lit lantern and sitting on one of the chairs was an old man who seemed to be in his eighties. The old man was bald but still had the same skin colour and eye colour as Robert. The only difference between them being that the old man seemed to be shielded a golden aura that was extremely faint and almost unnoticeable.
"And?" asked the old man with a soft and kind voice.
"He's not like the others. He neither has any kind of abilities or innate talent and he also doesn't have "It" like the others. He's a completely ordinary person with the only notable thing about him being his Soul. It's slightly stronger than that of an average awakened." said Robert.
"I see but still keep an eye on him. There might be more to him than meets the eye. The rewards for discovering these foreigners with unique talents is quite huge. Last time we discovered them too late and almost lost an opportunity, we won't make the same mistake twice. Dismiss." said the old man then Robert stood up, bowed and left.
Sitting alone in the small house, the old man sighed deeply with eyes filled with regret.
"If only I had a discerning eye like the City Lord, that guy benefited the most out of all of us… especially after discovering that person. Lucius, show me you're worth waiting for." said the old man as he blew on the lantern to extinguish the flame. When the candle was extinguished, he too had disappeared.
