" You know, Kiddo, your mom was an amazing person. She was my sister, and I loved her so much". Alex being so curious asked."What happened to her, Uncle? I already heard she won't make it so please tell me what happened?". John paused, collecting his thoughts. "Well, she got very sick. The doctors did everything they could, but unfortunately, she didn't make it and I'm very sorry Kiddo I know how it feels to loose someone close to your heart". Alex tearfully said "I miss her so much, Uncle. she said she will be back and never returned". John nodded " I know, kiddo. I miss her too. But I'm glad you're here with me now. You know, after your mom passed away, I knew I had to take care of you. That's why you're here to live with me in the city. Alex sniffles "I'm glad I'm here with you too, Uncle. You take good care of me". John smiled " Of course, Kiddo. I'll always be here for you. Your mom would want me to take care of you, and I'm honored to do so". Alex hugged his uncle " I love you, Uncle" . John hugged him back " I love you too, Kiddo" he said tapping his back. " Okay, kiddo! Welcome to our home. I want to show you around so you can get familiar with everything". John said standing up. Alex got excited following his uncle "Yeah!" he exclaimed trying to overcome the the sorrow. John smiled "Alright, let's start with your room. " This is where you'll be sleeping" . He opened a door to a cozy bedroom. Alex eyes widening "Wow, it's so nice!" John smiled "I'm glad you like it. You'll be sharing this room with me, but don't worry, I'll give you plenty of space". John pointed to a bed " That's your bed, and you can put your clothes in that closet over there". Alex nodded " Okay".
john continued the tour "Now, let's go to the living room. John lead the way to the living room "This is where we'll spend most of our time. We have a TV, a couch, and a dining table".Alex looked around "It's so big!" he exclaimed. John laughed " "Yeah, it's a pretty big room. Now, let's go to the kitchen. John lead the way to the kitchen . " You can help me with cooking if you want". Alex excitedly responded "Yeah, I want to help!" John smiled "Great! Now, let's talk about the rules of the house. First, If you make a mess, please clean it up. Second, you need to respect my belongings and not touch anything that's not yours. Third, you need to be quiet after 10 PM because I have to work early in the morning. Alex noded "I'll remember" he responded.
john smiled "Good! I'm glad we had this talk. If you need anything or have any questions, just let me know. I'm always here to help". Alex hugged him and said "Thanks, Uncle. I'll be good, I promise" .
john hugged him back " I know you will, kiddo" . that night, Alex cried all night but he tried not awake his sleeping uncle so he kept all the pain within. He hardly slept,he kept on wondering what actually happened to his mother which lead her to her death. the morning drew nearer and Alex was still up, he couldn't sleep so he had to pretend to be asleep when his uncle stretched in bed in attempt to wake up. "Good morning, kiddo! How did you sleep?" Alex pretending to be awaken by the voice of his uncle responded "Good morning, Uncle. I slept well, thanks" sitting on the bed John smiled and said" Great! get up and clean up I'll prepare something for you" Alex climb down from the bed and headed straight to the bathroom while John walked to the kitchen. John is a business man, he owns three shops in town. he deals with cars spare parts and other items. he's known and loved by his customers because of his generosity . "Alex!" John shouted from the kitchen hurry up we somewhere to go! " okay uncle Alex responded walking out of the bathroom. John placed the prepared food on the dinning table making himself comfortable on the chair. Alex headed straight to the dinning table after dressing up. "you're looking handsome this morning" John said smiling " thank you Uncle" Alex responded blushing. John broke silence between them as they ate "kiddo, I have some great news to share with you"
Alex curiously asked "What is it, Uncle?" John smiled "I've already bought your university form, and you're all set to start school soon!" Really? That's amazing, Uncle! Thank you so much!"
John smiled and responded "You're welcome, kiddo. I'm glad I could make it happen. Now, I know you're probably thinking you'll be staying at the school hostel, but I have a surprise for you.
Alex asked curiously "What is it?" John smiled "The university is actually very close to our house, so you'll be staying here with me while you go to school. You'll go to school in the morning and come back home in the evening. Alex excitedly responded "That's great, Uncle! I'll get to spend more time with you and still get my education". Exactly! I'm glad you're excited about it. Plus, it'll be more convenient for both of us. You'll save on accommodation costs, and I'll get to see you every day". Alex couldn't hold back his tears "Thanks, Uncle. You're the best!" He said crying " Anytime, kiddo and stop crying. I just want what's best for you. "I'm a bit scared, Uncle Alex said nervously. John reassuringly responded "Don't be scared, Kiddo. You'll make plenty of new friends, and I'll be with you every step of the way. Just remember to focus on your studies and be the best you can be".
Alex noded I'll try, Uncle. " You know, your mom always wanted the best for you, and I know she'd want you to excel in school. So, let's make her proud, okay?" said John on serious tone. tearfully Alex responded "Okay, Uncle. I'll make her proud" . That's the spirit! Now, let's get ready and head out. We don't want to be late on your first day. Alex noded Okay, Uncle. And remember, I'll be here to support you every step of the way. You're not alone, kiddo. said John standing up. Alex now got his smiles back "Thanks, Uncle. I love you". John smiled back " I love you too, Kiddo. Now, let's get moving!"
As the car glided smoothly along the highway, 19-year-old Alex gazed out the window, his eyes wide with wonder. He had never seen a city like this before. The towering skyscrapers, the bustling streets, and the endless stream of cars honking their horns all blended together to create a symphony of sounds and sights that left him breathless. His uncle, John, chuckled as he glanced over at Alex. "Pretty cool, huh?" he asked, Alex nodded enthusiastically, his messy brown hair bobbing up and down. "Yeah, it's amazing!" he exclaimed. "I've never seen so many tall buildings in my life!" John laughed. "Well, you're in the big city now, kiddo. This is what it's all about."As they drove, Alex couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. Excitement and nervousness swirled together in his stomach like a tornado. He was starting at a new school today, and he had no idea what to expect.
But as he looked out at the city, he felt a sense of wonder and possibility. Maybe this new place wouldn't be so bad after all. Maybe he would make new friends, learn new things, and discover a whole new world. The car turned a corner, and Alex caught sight of a massive park stretching out before them. Kids were playing soccer, laughing and shouting as they chased after the ball. Alex's heart skipped a beat as he watched, feeling a pang of longing. He loved playing soccer.
"Hey, Uncle John?" Alex asked, turning to his uncle with a hopeful expression.
"Yeah, kiddo?" John replied, glancing over at him. "Do you think I'll make friends at my new school?" Alex asked, his voice barely above a whisper. John smiled and reached out to ruffle Alex's hair. "I'm sure you will, buddy. You're a great kid, and I know you'll fit right in."Alex smiled back, feeling a sense of reassurance wash over him. Maybe this new city, this new school, wouldn't be so scary after all. Maybe it would be an adventure, a chance to start fresh and make new memories. As the car pulled up to the school, Alex took a deep breath and grinned at his uncle. "Thanks, Uncle John. I'm ready for this."
