Because of my special talent, I was the top student in the agent school.
When it was time for me to finish my studies in the agent's school, there came a new student from another school.
He is one of the best of our school as that he showed his unique superpower to us as soon as he came-he can go into others' minds and explore what they are thinking…
The teachers are glad they had this special boy, and they put lots of effort into him, trying to build a perfect agent that there had ever been.
I was jealous, and somehow I think there is a glint of evil in his large green eyes, and he has become my biggest competitor ever since. All I think about all day is just how to beat him at every subject and at every single project. But it was tricky; he is like a genius, and I'm afraid he will look through me and see the hatred I held against him. So I signed up for the class to lock up my mind, letting no one go inside my mind and see what I am thinking. But it was too hard, too hard; I am getting tired of shutting myself in; sometimes I feel I myself don't know myself now. And my ability to foresee has stopped ever since he stepped into my school! I don't know what to do…
It was a dark night, and I was stumbling on the way back to my hostel when suddenly I tripped and bumped into... HIM! Oh my! I opened my eyes wide and stared into his dark green pupil—a sudden light flashed through my eyes, and I blinked. He grinned darkly, and I knew that I had let down my guard; he had known my secret. I gasped and ran away.
The next day, he acted as if nothing had happened, and I couldn't help but just worry: What is he going to do to me?
Teacher Stan warned me to focus on my studies; it's the eighteenth time I've turned my head around to glance at him. I can't concentrate with him hanging around, knowing my worst secret!
I asked him after class what he had seen in my head; he shrugged and said it's something that I would never want him to know. I was angry and worried: "Why can't you just control your mind and not peek into other people's minds? That's illegal and rude!"
He seemed shocked and hurt: "I don't know what you're talking about!"
I burst out, "Just pretend! You think I don't know all the things that you've done? You took away all my teacher's attention from me, and I couldn't concentrate on my studies! It's all because of stupid you, showing off and boasting everywhere with your stupid superpower!"
After some time of silence, he opened his mouth and closed it again, then he said, "I'm sorry if I'm acting that annoyingly."
I ran away again; an idea flashed inside my head—I knew it; my vision was blocked, and the reason for my anxiety and stress was because the vampires had gotten control of my mind again! There must be vampires hiding in the school!
So I went to the principal's office and explained to him my troubles. Mr. Grimrose's eyes glittered with odd light as he heard the whole story.
"So, you suspect that there are vampires in this school? Miss Ginell, that's a very serious problem, but feel safe, for we have the best security in the school!" The principal smiled warmly.
"As for the signs you pointed out, be assured we will check the school," He continued, "You're a great student; maybe you're just working too hard, and your vision somehow got affected. I'll fix some agentia for you that can relax you. How's your occlumency do'in? That's the hardest subject ever!"
"Great, "I took the bubbling warm potion from him and forced a weak smile. Only the thoughts of practicing Occlumency made me want to throw up. Just as I was going to drink the potion, the office door slammed open!
My biggest competitor came in and looked at me with his clear green eyes: "Mandy! Drop the potion! Don't drink it!"
Mr. Grimrose no longer looked like a friendly normal principal anymore; he shot a fierce glance at the intruder, "Mr. Vissen, please explain your behavior!"
"Miss Ginell, take the potion back," he turned back to me, "Now, Mr. Vissen—"
I never had the chance to hear him finish that sentence, as the Mr. Vissen burst out, "Mandy! He's the vampire, and that's why your vision stops! Drop the potion; it's poisonous!"
Mr. Grimrose's face darkened. "You are indeed very kind-hearted, Mr. Vissen," he laughed so hard that I saw his fangs, and his eyes turned red.
I gasped at this horrible sight, "How come our principal is a vampire!"
Vic, I mean Mr. Vissen, stepped in front of me; he grabbed a tiny silver necklace with a cross on it and reached out to the vampire.
"What a smart boy! I should feel sorry for you, as no one told you vampires in this century aren't afraid of crosses anymore!" Mr. Grimrose, I mean the vampire snarled.
The boy and I exchanged glances and started murmuring spells that we had read in the forbidden section of vampires!
I'm not sure how the spell had worked, because I hid in Vic's chest. After a flash, it left only a weird-smelling smoke and me and the boy. I looked into his clear emerald eyes and for the first time forgot everything about the fights between us and the Occumency. I said simply three words-sorry, and thank you. He lowered his head to look at me and laughed, his red hair touching mine.
