Chapter 1 - Crossing Over, Starting as Gilgamesh!
Surrounded by buildings with a distinctly Japanese style, Gilgamesh's face showed a look of confusion as he muttered to himself, "Where is this?"
"This place? Of course, it's Inuzuri."
A laid-back voice sounded in Gilgamesh's ear.
"Inuzuri? What is Inuzuri?"
Gilgamesh looked around, even more perplexed.
What he saw made him freeze in astonishment. His eyes revealed an incredible expression.
He saw none other than a living Renji Abarai and Rukia Kuchiki!
No, more accurately, it was them as children.
Oh, right, Rukia hadn't yet taken on the Kuchiki surname; she should be called Rukia at this point.
Wait a minute, does this mean this place is…?
Rukia, at that moment, grabbed Renji Abarai, who was about to speak again, and said, "He looks like a newcomer to the Soul Society; of course, he wouldn't know what you're talking about."
With that, Rukia smiled at Gilgamesh and said, "This is the 78th district of South Rukongai, called Inuzuri."
"You can think of it as a paradise or heaven."
Renji Abarai sneered at the mention of 'paradise or heaven' and said, "This is no paradise or heaven; this place is the chaotic Inuzuri."
Then, Renji's face showed a look of longing as he continued, "If there's really a paradise or heaven, it would definitely be there."
Renji looked toward a certain place.
Gilgamesh followed his gaze.
Though he couldn't see the place Renji longed for, he knew Renji was talking about the Seireitei.
Rukia looked a bit helpless.
Though what Renji said was true, telling a newcomer directly like that was too harsh.
Gilgamesh finally snapped out of his daze, his face showing disbelief as he exclaimed, "This is the Soul Society? Does that mean I'm dead?"
Renji, puzzled, responded, "Of course you're dead. You're a soul now. Humans can't come to the Soul Society."
Gilgamesh couldn't believe he had crossed into the world of Bleach and had started off dead, arriving directly in the Soul Society.
Knowing the Bleach storyline well, Gilgamesh understood the Soul Society was not a good place.
Especially for souls in Rukongai, where chaotic lawlessness was only the surface danger.
Deeper dangers included Aizen Sosuke, Hollows, nobles, the Wandenreich, and even the Soul Reapers themselves.
In such a place, countless souls died daily. Living safely and healthily depended on luck.
Seeing Gilgamesh's distressed expression, Rukia couldn't help but comfort him, "It's okay. Death is just a new beginning. Look at us; we're living well."
Rukia's comfort brought a smile to Gilgamesh's face.
Renji, feeling a bit jealous, said, "Rukia, why are you being so nice to this blond kid? Don't tell me you fancy him?"
Rukia's face instantly turned red, ready to retort, but Renji didn't give her a chance and continued, "But this blond kid is quite handsome. Even I…"
It was an unconscious remark from Renji.
He quickly covered his mouth, realizing what he had said.
Rukia looked at Renji mischievously, raising an eyebrow, "Even you what? Could it be you have feelings for him?"
"Renji, we've known each other for so long, and this is the first time I realized your tastes are so unique."
Renji, embarrassed and angry, shouted, "No way! My tastes are normal! I wouldn't have feelings for a guy!"
Gilgamesh took a slight step away from Renji.
For a moment, he felt a chill.
Ignoring the squabbling duo, Gilgamesh began calling out for his golden finger.
As a traverser, he should have some kind of golden finger. It made no sense if he didn't.
'System? Little system? Old man by my side? Data panel? I need points…'
After trying a series of calls, a text box visible only to Gilgamesh suddenly appeared before him.
[Congratulations to the host for successfully merging with the young Gilgamesh template.]
[The Royal System is now activated. Please strive to become the king of this world.]
Staring at the text box, Gilgamesh was stunned.
Before crossing over, he had been playing a newly released game called "Path of the King."
The core gameplay involved a chaotic battle of dimensions.
Players would draw a random young king character template at the start.
Gilgamesh had drawn an S-rank growth potential young Gilgamesh template.
It was quite fitting since Gilgamesh's name was Gilgamesh.
S-rank wasn't the highest; above it were SS, SSS, and EX ranks.
Gilgamesh remembered someone drawing an EX-rank growth potential young Emperor Arhat template and a Dragon Ball Zeno template.
Gilgamesh was content, as S-rank growth potential templates were rare.
Just as he was about to make his mark in the game, he had crossed into the Bleach world.
Gilgamesh never expected the character template he drew would come with him.
From now on, his name would be Gilgamesh.
As for the Royal System…
Gilgamesh checked it out and was pleasantly surprised.
The young Gilgamesh template had an S-rank growth limit, but with the Royal System, his growth potential wouldn't stop at S-rank and might even surpass EX-rank.
The Royal System's abilities were simple and crude: adding points and exchanging.
The prerequisite was to have Royal Points.
Royal Points corresponded to the number of subjects under Gilgamesh.
Each time Gilgamesh conquered an ordinary subject, he would gain one Royal Point.
If he conquered a story character, the points gained would vary based on the character's importance.
In short, the more important the story character, the more Royal Points gained.
With Royal Points, Gilgamesh could enhance his attributes like strength, speed, endurance, and defense.
As for exchanging…
Gilgamesh glanced at the exchange store.
He found an array of items, basically everything from the Bleach world.
It even included Zanpakuto, Hogyoku, and fragments of the Soul King.
Moreover, there were many young king character templates available for exchange.
Such as young Emperor Arhat, young Emperor Jun, young Zeno, and so on.
However, at the current stage, Gilgamesh could only exchange for items from the Bleach world.
Other items were in a grey, inactive state and could not be exchanged.
Once Gilgamesh went to the corresponding world, they could be activated.
Yes, Gilgamesh could traverse worlds.
In the exchange store, Gilgamesh saw an item called "World Travel."
As the name suggests, once exchanged, Gilgamesh could traverse worlds, moving to other worlds.
The prerequisite for the exchange was for Gilgamesh to first become the king of the Bleach world!
