Chapter 5 - System, Give Me Points!
Renji Abarai and Rukia were stunned.
When they snapped out of it, they urgently yelled at Gilgamesh.
"Now is not the time to show off, run!"
"You just arrived, you don't understand. This place is nothing like the human world. Death is a common occurrence here, if you don't run, you might really die!"
Gilgamesh's expression remained unchanged as he looked at the five greedy men who had surrounded them. He spoke, "Do you know what my subjects used to call me?"
As he spoke, an indescribable aura burst forth from Gilgamesh.
This aura was neither Reiatsu nor mana but an indomitable will and conviction forged through countless trials.
Confidence, solitude, invincibility…
This was the will and conviction that Renji and Rukia could feel from his aura.
Their hearts were shaken.
The words they wanted to say to urge Gilgamesh to run stuck in their throats.
For a moment, they saw a glorious kingdom and a king sitting on the throne, basking in the adoration of his people.
The five men, driven by greed, were beyond reason.
Their only thought now was to kill and rob.
The gemstone ring on Rukia's hand was too precious in a place like Inuzuri. They had no intention of letting Gilgamesh and his companions leave.
If Gilgamesh and his friends spread the word about the ring, endless disasters would befall the five men.
Even if they banded together, they couldn't escape their fate.
So, despite sensing Gilgamesh's aura and feeling he might be extraordinary, their greed blinded them.
In their eyes, no matter how extraordinary Gilgamesh was, he couldn't be a match for all five of them.
Unless Gilgamesh was a Soul Reaper.
But why would a Soul Reaper come to a remote, backward, and chaotic area like Inuzuri?
Moreover, Gilgamesh was too young. They had never seen such a young Soul Reaper.
Gilgamesh originally planned to use his Noble Phantasm, Gate of Babylon.
The Gate of Babylon contained prototypes of all Noble Phantasms, human inventions, and treasures from ancient times.
But he reconsidered.
Using the Gate of Babylon to kill these men would taint it with their greedy, foul blood, something he couldn't accept.
Gilgamesh stretched his body slightly, then spoke, "The King of Heroes, that is what they called me."
"Although this body's power and skills are not at their peak, they are enough to rival the heroes of human epics."
"Renji, Rukia, watch closely."
Before Gilgamesh finished speaking, one of the men swung a scythe at him, laughing maniacally, "The King of Heroes? Kid, are you dreaming?"
Another man swung a long staff at Gilgamesh, "Perfect, you can die in your dream. Consider it our final mercy."
The remaining men laughed loudly.
"Does that mean we're kind?"
"Mercy? Yes, we're very merciful!"
"Hey, Goro, when did you get so humorous? I haven't heard such a funny joke in a long time."
Swish!
Bang!
Before anyone could react, Gilgamesh's figure appeared beside the man with the scythe, his small fist striking the man's stomach.
The man flew backward.
Everyone was stunned, instinctively looking over. They saw the man's face twisted in pain, his eyes wide with bloodshot, his face full of agony, and an unknown liquid mixed with blood spewing from his mouth.
He was barely breathing, clearly not long for this world.
How was this possible? He was only hit by a kid's punch.
The remaining four men's pupils shook violently, and they stopped in their tracks.
Goro, trembling, stammered, "Hey, Meiji, stop joking. Get up."
Goro, unable to accept reality, grew agitated, trying to hide his intense fear and anxiety, "Meiji, if you don't get up, I'll get mad."
But Meiji could no longer respond.
Goro wanted to speak again, but Gilgamesh didn't give him the chance.
Gilgamesh appeared in front of Goro and, without a word, dealt the same blow as he did to Meiji.
In the next moment, Goro lay on the ground, barely breathing, just like Meiji.
Goro finally realized Meiji wasn't joking.
Gilgamesh's punch was indeed heavy… too heavy, and it hurt so much… so much.
This was normal. After all, Gilgamesh's Strength attribute was C-rank, translating to a force of about four tons.
Such force was lethal to ordinary people.
Goro's consciousness began to fade.
He vaguely saw more figures falling beside him.
Goro understood they were his other companions.
At this moment, Goro recalled Gilgamesh's words.
Perhaps, it wasn't a dream…
Perhaps, he really was the King of Heroes…
With endless regret and unwillingness, Goro's consciousness permanently fell into darkness.
In the midst of the scene, Gilgamesh's not-so-tall figure stood and stretched. At his feet, Goro and his companions were silent.
It was Gilgamesh's first time killing, but perhaps due to merging with the young Gilgamesh template, he felt no discomfort, only an overwhelming calm.
Renji and Rukia were dumbfounded.
Their minds were blank, not knowing what to think.
Only Gilgamesh knew they had accepted him as their king.
Because the system prompt appeared before him.
[Detected important storyline character – Rukia has become the host's subject, gaining 10,000 Royal Points.]
[Detected important storyline character – Renji Abarai has become the host's subject, gaining 10,000 Royal Points.]
When Renji and Rukia initially agreed to be Gilgamesh's subjects, he noticed the Royal Points didn't increase.
The system informed him that merely agreeing verbally wasn't enough; they had to genuinely accept it from their hearts.
Gilgamesh hadn't expected Renji and Rukia to give him 10,000 Royal Points each.
Ordinary subjects only added one Royal Point each.
Renji and Rukia were 10,000 times that.
As expected of important storyline characters.
Without hesitation, Gilgamesh purchased [Reiatsu (Initial)].
Immediately, a new attribute appeared on his status panel.
[Reiatsu: 0.]
Seeing this, Gilgamesh thought, 'System, give me points!'
