Chapter 8 - CHAPTER 8

Inside the military base, several computers were turned on and people could be seen operating the computer in a fast manner. They were sending out information to the headquarters and digging out useful information on what was currently happening outside of the base.

Charles could be seen in the middle of the room. His hands were behind his back and his eyes were on the large super screen in front of him.

The large screen was displaying the full map of Baythorn state. Although Charles' eyes seemed to be on the super screen, his main focus was the red circle that was slowly approaching the military base.

He discovered the red circle immediately he entered the information room and it had slowly been progressing to the military base. Currently, the red circle was only a few minutes away from the military base and that was making Charles a little bit unsettled.

Charles' eyes were still on the super screen when somebody from the communication section stood up.

"Sir!"

He turned to face Charles and continued.

"We have got Commander Grayson on call."

The man said as he pointed the telephone to Charles' direction. Charles casually walked to accept the telephone.

He voiced out calmly with a hint of authority.

"This is base commander Charles Wesley speaking. Where have you been Commander Greyson, we have been trying to get you on call."

Charles waited for Greyson's response but he got nothing.

"Commander Greyson, do you copy? Do you copy commander Greyson."

He waited for Greyson to respond once more and he got nothing. Charles faced the man in the communication section, he wanted to say something when Greyson's voice rang from the telephone.

"Copy Sir. We just arrived at the battleground. We are currently dealing with some F-ranked rats. Once we are done with that, we will be heading to the heart of the battlefield."

At that moment, Charles turned to face the super screen.

"That is great, Greyson, but your objective has been changed. Alphacrest evaded our beautiful state with twenty ability users, among those twenty people is a summoner as you have seen."

Charles' eyes moved to the red circle which was approaching faster than before.

He sounded with full authority.

"Your objective is no longer to save the lives of the people currently injured, your objective is to find this summoner and put an end to him immediately. Good thing for you, we have his location with us. We will be sending you the location in your watch drive. Find this bastard and bring him down immediately!"

There was silence for a while before Greyson voiced out on his end.

"Copy that Sir, however, I will have to split the team into two. Group A would continue with the first objective, while I will carry Group B to end this summoner."

Charles' eyebrows pushed a little. He believes that would hinder the success rate of the mission, but then again, he wasn't expecting Greyson to win. His plan was to buy the base some time before the real taskforce from the headquarters would arrive, definitely Greyson and whatever team he carries should be able to do that.

"Permission granted, field Commander Greyson. Do what you must do, but ensure that the summoner is brought to the ground as soon as possible."

"Copy that, Sir."

Greyson ended the call on his end and Charles handed the telephone back to the man.

"How many minutes before the task force would be here."

Somebody immediately responded to Charles in a loud tone.

"Twenty more minutes Sir!"

Charles' eyes moved to the arriving time of the red circle, given the current pace. The enemies would be arriving at the base in twelve minutes time.

**

Greyson's facial expression darkened as soon as he ended the call. He gazed forward and the boys were done with all the giant rats in the scene.

"Gather up, soldiers!"

He called for everyone's attention immediately. Greyson received a notification from the smart watch he was putting on, the location of the summoner had just been sent to him, and it was pretty close to the military base.

He believed this was the reason Charles was calling him.

Jonathan and the boys gathered Greyson quickly. Greyson cleared his throat before addressing them.

"There has been a change of plan everyone. The task force would be arriving a bit late and the enemy is currently heading to our base. We can't allow the base to fall. It's the people's last hope of defense, if the military base falls, then the people's fate would go down the drain, we can't allow that, and we also can't allow these F ranked monsters to continue to devour more people, so I am splitting the team into two."

Jonathan was surprised that Greyson was labeling the giant rats as F-ranked.

The hell!

Anything F meant useless. F stood for failure in his former world and it definitely stood for the same thing here, given how easily he was able to defeat the giant rats.

Jonathan was only surprised a rat as big as that was merely F-ranked, making him wonder how big the higher ranks of monsters would be like. Damn, they could be a real Goliath in this world.

Greyson straightened his shoulder and declared loudly.

"I am only going to take the bravest among you guys to face off against these enemies, the rest would continue with the previous objective. We have to save the people currently injured, and we also have to stop the enemy from causing more havoc!"

Immediately Greyson finished, everyone saluted.

"Yes Sir!"

Greyson picked a ten men squad and asked the remaining twenty people to continue the previous objective.

"Let's go soldier!"

Greyson roared as he took the lead. Jonathan followed suit immediately, of course he was part of the ten brave men squad, where else would he be.

They ran for more than eight minutes before they finally came in contact with the so-called enemy that was heading to the military base.

"Stop!"

Greyson said as they blocked the path of the people that were putting on a military outfit that was different from them.

Their military outfit was silver in color, almost like their white uniform, but there were clear differences. In terms of quality and pattern of design.

However, the major difference was the military symbol on their right arms and on their chest region.

Their military symbol was a howling wolf, whereas theirs was the symbol of the moon.

Jonathan didn't need any explanation to tell him that these people were from Alphacrest. Their military symbol was the same as his former world.

'Those bastards!'

Jonathan couldn't help but squeeze his fist hard and he looked directly into their eyes.

"I see you have discovered us."

The tallest guy among the six people voiced out with a smile. He calmly took a step forward, making the rest to stand behind him.

"Should I call this game over."

He said with a smile again.

Greyson didn't respond to his words. He simply uses his longsword to point at the man.

"By slaying you here, the war between Alphacrest and Dreamway would officially begin. You made a clown of yourselves for letting your country use you as bait to start a war."

The man couldn't help but burst out laughing at Greyson's words. He spread his hands, pointing at the destruction behind him.

"You think my country had something to do with this. This is nothing but my handiwork. If my country were to attack Dreamway, why bother to attack the weakest state first? We will start the attack from Cloverhill, your so-called capital."

The man's cheeks grew bigger as he continued.

"Sometimes I wonder how you guys see yourself. Do you actually think you would be able to withstand the full wrath of Alphacrest. Alphacrest can take down Dreamway in less than a day. I merely came here to have fun. When I am fully satisfied, I will go back to Alphacrest until I am ready to come back again."

Greyson and everyone faces darkened at that moment. Jonathan's forehead folded completely. Baythorn state was truly the first state to be attacked by Alphacreat. That same day, he was leaving to the headquarters to receive additional training, but a report got to him and everyone that the intruders Alphacreat sent were killed.

Now that he was listening to this bastard, it seemed that wasn't the case.

Greyson eyebrows pushed down to cover his eyes. The brat was sounding like he could go in and out of Dreamway like he pleases, but Dreamway border was currently under a rigid lockdown for months, but then again, how did the brat manage to bypass those heavy security and found his way to Baythorn.

Greyson's facial expression darkened more, whatever the case, the brat was here already and it was their job to take care of it.

Greyson lowered his longsword and raised his voice.

"Alphacrest might have the mass and the numbers, but Dreamway has a heart. That is something you clowns would never understand. We will never lose to you guys."

Greyson took a different posture and continued.

"As for the blabbering you were saying a while ago. There is no going back for you and your men. You get to die here, in my hands as well."

He raised his longsword to point directly at the man's face.
