As the morning sun cast its golden light through the crystalline walls of the Celestial Sanctuary, it seemed as though the heavens themselves were blessing the journey ahead. Akira and Yue stood ready, their destination set for Draken, the Land of Flames—a distant, perilous place that couldn't be reached on foot.
"We'll take the Crystal Train to Draken," Yue explained, leading Akira out of the sanctuary. Her golden eyes sparkled with excitement. "It's a vehicle powered by ancient magic and technology. It can traverse any terrain, from frozen tundras to molten lava fields."
"A train that travels through lava?" Akira repeated skeptically, though his eyes gleamed with curiosity.
Arriving at the Crystal Train Station, Akira froze in awe. Before him stood a train that looked as though it had been plucked from the pages of a fairy tale. Its black metallic base gleamed like polished obsidian, exuding a sense of strength and resilience. In stark contrast, the upper structure was crafted from shimmering, translucent crystal, reflecting light in a kaleidoscope of colors, like stardust made tangible.
"Is that… the Crystal Train?" Akira asked, stepping closer to the marvel. He reached out to touch its cool, smooth surface, marveling at the engineering wonder before him.
Yue nodded with a smile. "Yes. It may look delicate, but its black base is made from Magma Solidified, a metal forged from lava itself. It's heat-resistant to the highest degree while remaining as cool as ice. That's what I read in a book."
"Unbelievable…" Akira murmured, his fingers still tracing the smooth surface of the train. "It's like it was designed to connect two opposing worlds."
The train whistle blew, signaling its imminent departure. Staff dressed in golden uniforms embroidered with crystal patterns began ushering passengers aboard. Akira and Yue followed, stepping into a finely furnished cabin. Plush, comfortable seats awaited them, and the large windows provided a clear view of the passing landscape.
As the train departed the station, the City of Faith gradually disappeared into the distance. Through the window, Akira watched the vast, white expanse of the icy tundra stretch endlessly. But soon, the scenery began to change.
"We're approaching the boundary," Yue said, pointing to the horizon.
What lay before them was a sight Akira would never forget. The pristine white tundra gave way to a jagged chasm filled with roiling lava. Black smoke billowed into the sky, and the terrain transformed into a fiery canyon—a surreal version of Earth's Grand Canyon, painted in shades of orange and red. His gaze followed the black stone cliffs, their edges glowing faintly from the heat, while the golden auroras above gradually faded into the daylight.
"That's Draken," Yue said softly, her tone tinged with reverence. "A land where lava is life, fire dragons reign, and the creatures here have evolved to withstand the most extreme heat."
The train crossed a bridge spanning the chasm below, where rivers of lava flowed like molten arteries. Flames erupted in sporadic bursts, and strange trees with glowing red leaves stood defiantly amidst the heat. Their black, metallic bark gleamed as though forged in a furnace.
"Those are Eternal Fire Trees," Yue explained. "They absorb heat from the lava and store it in their leaves, allowing them to survive even in complete darkness."
"Incredible…" Akira whispered, unable to tear his eyes away. Though the intense heat seeped faintly through the windows, his excitement and fascination with this new world burned even brighter.
As the train slowed upon reaching Draken's main city, Akira was met with a landscape unlike any he had ever seen. Houses constructed from black volcanic stone lined the streets, their roofs emitting gentle streams of orange light from small vents. The air was thick with heat, yet the locals appeared entirely unbothered. They moved about in specialized heat-resistant clothing, carrying on their lives as though the scorching environment was nothing out of the ordinary.
"We're here," Yue announced, rising from her seat. "We'll rest in this city tonight. Tomorrow, we'll start exploring Draken."
Akira stood and slung his bag over his shoulder, his gaze wandering over the mysterious, fiery city. The air thrummed with an energy that promised both danger and discovery. He knew this journey would be far from ordinary, and the challenges ahead would demand everything he had.
As he stepped off the train, the heat enveloping him felt almost like a test—a fiery gateway into a world that held the answers, mysteries, and battles that awaited him.
