Chapter 25 - Opening The Gates

Two former fallen angels were connected to him as his own summons were, to Cedric this meant only one thing.

'God had accepted them back and forgave them for their sins.' He wanted to praise God's infinite kindness for even those who betrayed him.

They knelt before Cedric and none of their sinful nature remained, They lost all their sins, and all their virtues. They were given a blank slate.

With a single order, both newly cleansed Archangels rose and walked behind Aurelia and Archangel. "Aurelia, These 3 will be your guardians henceforth."

Aurelia truly deserved protection, she had proven it. She might have been weak and sinful but she got rid of Pride, she had the potential that Cedric would never forgive himself if he let her die.

"These two fallen angels have been cleansed and once again are basking in God's Light," Cedric said with pride. After all, he was the one who brought them to God once again.

They were beautiful now, their sinful blackened wings were removed and replaced with the purity of white angelic wings.

Lucious now had long flowing white hair and deep piercing blue eyes, her expression soft and pure.

Rayn had similar features, but his eyes were silver and his hair was white and short.

They were far less robotic than the first Archangel he summoned, perhaps because they had fallen before they were returned to the light.

Aurelia looked at them with suspicion, just moments before they were trying to murder her, and now they looked like obedient pets.

Their former resistance was completely gone, it was surreal.

She had learned that Cedric was capable of feats that would turn the nations upside down.

In Aurelia's eyes, the man couldn't do anything wrong, every feat he had had a purpose, and every strike was with an intention.

While Aurelia felt unsure about having former enemies as her bodyguards, it did not matter. Since Cedric assigned them to her then it was the right decision.

Her trust in the great hero was easily overpowering her doubts.

"Sir Cedric, Are you sure It is ok to leave these two to walk freely? They were enemies just moments before."

"I assure you, princess. They are bathing in God's light now." Cedric spoke with confidence.

He felt the connection with newly cleansed Archangels, he felt their emotions, he felt their intent, he felt their very souls, they were identical to his summons.

They belong to him, God had granted him both of these Archangels to serve God's will and God's Mission.

"Aurelia, I will go to the gates now. Once I shatter them I want you and Archangels to Destroy any possibility of resistance!" Cedric ordered, his orders were clear and straightforward.

'I'm not used to being one on receiving end of orders, but I could definitely get used to him ordering me around.' Aurelia couldn't help but fantasize, her face blushing uncontrollably, but it wasn't the time or place for it.

"I understand, I and my squad will patrol the town and destroy anyone capable of offering resistance." She saluted before she could even speak anything more, Cedric disappeared.

"Why does he keep disappearing like that... I want to stare at him for a bit longer!" She shouted at the Archangels, only receiving a mild chuckle from two new recruits.

"Lady Aurelia, [Creator] trusts you and that is why he left such an important cleanup to you," Lucious spoke, her voice much softer than when she was about to slash her with thousands of razors.

Fortunately, unlike her previous Guardians, the former enemies weren't completely robotic and seemed more human like her. Perhaps she could even befriend the new Archangels.

"Let's not disappoint great hero then!" She turned towards her back to the squad before cheering.

***

To say that Cedric was having a wonderful day was an understatement, not only had someone he thought a spoiled princess full of sin proved herself capable.

Now he had been given a right to purify the Fallen Angel, "God truly is great!".

With speeds surpassing what the eye could see he rushed past the panicking populace, the Human army was almost here.

And with the Army being here, the Demonic Fighting force had been defeated.

The populace was afraid, they feared humanity.

It filled his heart with joy, and yet the best was to come. The human army would march and slaughter these demons.

Perhaps some Fallen could be cleansed, but alas God had allowed the duo of champions to plead and so they were allowed to return to the right path.

He made his way past the panicking civilians, despite the town being engulfed in panic not many combatants remained.

Once the gate was shattered the army would march in. 'If I'm correct grahm should be about 15 minutes of marching away.'

He thought about his next move. Soldiers wished to gain glory by fighting, but due to his and Aurelia's actions, the town would be handed to them on a silver platter. They would need to slaughter some weak civilians and install a human government, and it would be over.

With a thump he landed in front of a group of terrified demons, their bodies shaking as they saw a heavily armed man appear out of nowhere.

They attempted to run before they were cut down, These demons would have died in the next few minutes anyway.

Minotaurs, Harpies. Dozen were cut down before Cedric turned his attention towards the wooden gate.

He gripped Equilibrium before taking a swing, no skill was needed to shatter such a mundane gate.

SWOSH-

Blade cut through the wooden gate like it was nothing, it was like it passed through air as the gate was split in two.

The gates had fallen, and he had seen some demons running away. But that was a necessary sacrifice that he had to make to fulfill God's Mission.

He stood in front of a broken gate before stabbing Equilibrium into the ground, it was time to pray, God would watch humanity strike back, and he had to make sure to plead for God to grant infidels success despite not following one true faith.
