Waking up early in the morning they were truly coming to terms with this.. Dire? No that's not the word. Yes, the existential peril of the situation was setting in. They were kids in the middle of a forest with monsters in a world clearly not of their own as they could easily deduce from the creatures and well for lack of a better term weird a** fruit and plants. There was no certainty that other humans even existed and if they did they might not be from the same planet or maybe they were still in medieval times. It was just too uncertain for anything.
"Pfft, you know I just realized you know a lot about plants and your name is Dahlia a flower and ended up with "Mother Nature" as your whole little super power that's so.. spot on haha"
Trying to lighten the mood Azadi tried to point out how on how on the nose her whole thing was.
"Well my parents were botanist so that's where I got my plant knowledge from although all these weird fruit I can't possibly tell if their poison or not so I'm just going off a gut feeling."
Azadi stood thinking for a second in the small enclosure that was made via her power.
"Gut feeling? You sure it isn't just your ability?"
Dahlia looking as if she just had a epiphany she opened her mouth:
"That… would make a lot of sense actually."
With a look of derision azhadi stretched and picked up his bag.
It was freezing as winter was fully setting in now which couldint be worse for the two but luckily they both had clothes made for the snow as it was also winter in the real world as well.
Before setting out they looked through the cracks to see if the creatures still lurked around but there were none in sight.
"Come on let's go Dahlia we have to atleast find some water"
His face grimmed slightly.
'I would love some water right now…'
Dahlia had a look of confusion on her face.
"Just make some? Y'know with that ability you have?"
Azadi looked at him coming to the realization that he is indeed a fool.
"Oh.. yeah that's true I mean all I need is food and I'll be a little tired but water probably won't cost much."
Azadi then thought back to a dream a simple one of where he was resting on top of a building drinking from a gallon of water which his brother always carried with him.
'Ha who would have thought that jug he always carried around would be so life saving…'
The black gallon appeared in his hands filled with water but taking up a lot more energy then he expected.
'Right it was made of metal wasn't it no wonder it took so much energy.. man I miss him.'
He started chugging it down a bit before offering it up to Dahlia.
"Here drink some you must be thirsty as hell as well"
He wiped his mouth with a bit of a smile on his face.
"Yeah.. I am really thirsty."
She grabbed and downed a good portion aswell before putting it into the pouch.
"What the hell!"
Realizing she never explained that they were basically bags of holding so she decided to explain now even though his confusion was quite funny to her.
"Oh! that's great!"
With these bags it would make food storage or well any storage a breeze and it seems that whatever item that is put in their gets significantly lighter than what it is.
"Come on lower the plant wall now. We should leave before nightfall."
Getting a bit annoyed at how man demands he's making.
"Yeah yeah, I get it"
She lowered the plant dome around them and once more they began roaming through the forest trying to leave. Then on their wander trying get out the cursed forest an fox jumped out. Well it was a strange one having Snow White fur and swirling blue patterns on its fur and the antlers of a deer. It looked at them with curiosity as if wondering how they made it this far onto the forest.
"Look an animal can't you talk to them? Ask it how we can get the hell out of here please.
With a hint of annoyance she asked:
"Hey there, do you know the way out of here? West? Which way is west we are very lost haha. That way? Alright thanks. Huh? Why? Payment? Umm okay.. sure."
Dahlia reached into her bag and grabbed out a coin and put it into the.. deer fox I guess. Yes that would be the word. A artic deer fox. Now equipped with the bronze coin in it's mouth it ran back into forest with a suprising amount of joy.
'Shit are those coin's important?'
But there the fox was long gone before he could- Dahlia could as it the question.
They continued to walk this time with far more reason behind their strifes because now they knew the way out.
"So how far did it say?"
Dahlia face paled slightly with dread.
"Umm I didn't ask.."
Looking at her like the idiot she is.
"That cost us a whole coin.. and you didn't ASK!"
Dahlia seemed to also shrink a little after being yelled at.
"Yeah.. sorry.. you think the coins are important"
He sighed before speaking once more.
"Probably but that's not important right now. We know the way out right atleast."
Her voice slightly more down in the dumps.
"Yeah."
They continued their journey becoming more paranoid at any noise that came the more the sun's dim daylight began to dwindle.
But slightly after the sun passed noon they did still could not find the forest exit instead all they found was a half eaten man in the middle of the forest it seemed the winter made it too where it didn't rot too much making his expressionless face all the more horrifying.
It was clearly human and the clothing it wore.. a black shirt and a navy blue coat so it was earth. They recognized the brand after all.
They stood their frozen. Not word coming out their mouths. After a while standing their in silence both with grim expressions on their face they started to walk towards where the exit was suppose to be.
If Dahlia had not made that shelter or if Azadi had not killed that onyx monster their fate would have been the same as the poor man behind them.
They walked, not looking back at the corpse of the man.
***
Only few hours before the sunset and their supply of food running low they reached it.
The exit of the forest.
They both ran toward the the end, finnaly being able to completely bask in the sunlight.
"Yesss! Hahahaha! We made it Dahlia!"
They both celebrated their escape of the cursed forest.
They looked around and there was a few important thing sthey noticed.
1. A river
2. Fruit trees
3. There were ruins far out into the distance
They looked to be ruins of modern buildings.
'Are we far in the future? Ah who cares I'm so god damn tired from that walking. I'll just make us a house to rest in and just pass the hell out from the energy loss'
He walks into the center of a nice open clearing before spreading his arm out in joy and his eyes sparked white.
"What are you making now?"
He laughed slightly.
"Well I was thinking how uncomfortable that makeshift bed was, no offense"
Looking at him with a hint of annoyance at the comment.
"None taken so what you making a little hut for us?"
He smirked as she said this and then responded.
"Nope I'm make my house hahahahah a full on house with two stories!"
Looking at him with disbelief.
"What? Wont you pass out with the amount of energy that cost like last time?"
Already knowing this he started making his house with electricity from a generator and all to get it properly functioning just like his home but he didn't just pass out. This was first exerted far more energy than he could possibly hope for. It was a rebound of his own ability. He felt a great chest as if it had bursted open and his arms fractured along with his ribs and multiple other injuries that would leave him crippled for days maybe even weeks once he awoke.
"That fucking idiot."
She looked suprised at what she just said.
"Wow he's rubbing off on me huh."
Though now she looked at the house in front of her it was a bit ragged but she payed it no mind and entered finding him passed out and horribly injured and decided to mend him back together with her hands and then collapsed on the bed as well.
"Well.. this is nice"
She let out a sigh and drank from the gallon.
'Ac.. and a fan.. staying here for a few weeks shouldint be too bad. Better than a hut and whatever the hell I make.'
She was tired no, she was exhausted after healing the idiot's wounds and huffing in air.
'So abusing your power does that huh. Best be carful I guess.'
Her whole body hurt a bit from healing him but it was fine. Just a bit of soreness that she'll feel for a while after today.
'Guess I'll explore'
The floor was made of tiger wood and the walls were a nice white color. The doors were white aswell with black door handles and on the outside the roof had a weared down reddish color and a beige exterior that was probably cream once.
She found that the place had electricity from the fact that the fans worked and lights but she didn't know from where.
After looking around in the mostly empty house she went to the basement and found a gas generator running.
'Ahh that's how. His energy amount must be insane to be able to make all this and not just die out right?'
She kept looking around seeing pictures of him and his family on the walls, after all this is a recreation of his house. She saw his parents and two older siblings next to him. The sister seemed to be the oldest and the brother was probably in the middle.
'I miss my family too..'
She was in kitchen and found the fridge and pantry with no food of course as well as no water running.
'Seriously how is he not dead? I know he broke or fractured most of his bones and there were a lot of muscle tears but still this should have definitely killed him. Well no use worrying at least he's not dead.'
She went back upstairs and of course found most rooms in the house besides the master bedroom were just empty, well except for the master bedroom's bathroom as well.
'Ahh so that how he didn't die he didn't add any detail to the rooms. It's like a new house but still working electricity is insane.. even with like no detail he should definitely be dead. Well whatever I'm tired and probably sore for a week or something so I'm hitting the hay and I'll completely heal him in the morning he still has a couple of tears that I couldn't finish healing but I got all the broken stuff and most of the fractured bones.'
She hopped on the only bed he created and got into the comforter after locking the doors and windows and covering them with whatever she found she finally drifted to bed semi comfortable in it but of course still on edge. Who wouldint be in this treacherous land brimming with creatures of the night.
Though She ended up sleeping nicely, after all she was exhausted from using her ability. Though she still had some lingering thoughts before falling asleep about the abilities they had that she noticed.
'It's weird it seems our stamina run out when we use our ability but when we run the thing we use to use the ability doesn't go down at all. So I can be dead tired use it and I won't get any more tired till my energy and stamina stare corresponding. What a weird system.'
With a drowsy look around the room she layed back down for her last thought.
'I guess even talking to that fox earlier had drained a bit of my energy. That's inconvenient. Well whatever we'll figure out more later I guess…'
With this last and final though of the day she drifted to sleep finally.
They made it out the forest in just under two days of being dropped here which was great and now they had a house with electricity which in of it self is phenomenal. Though the house is pretty bland besides a few pictures here and there and the table in the dining room the place is pretty comfy way better than just camping out in field with a makeshift shelter.
