Chereads / White Star: Convergence / Chapter 3 - The Forest (2)

Chapter 3 - The Forest (2)

The beast lunged forward to strike at his neck but he rolled to the right behind a tree. Though he had escaped its attempt at his life the creature had not let up and immediately twisted itself towards him began bounding at him once more but before he had the chance to go for another strike Azhadi raised his left arm towards the creature and thought of the most destructive thing he could think of in the heat of the moment.

'Fire, no no an explosion! I need more fire power! I need a powerful blast to kill this bastard!'

Dahlia then turned around to see if he was alright but all she saw were orange sparks inbetween the hands of Azadi and the chest of the beast that was but a mere hairs breath away from having it's meal and not even a second later an explosion erupted between them sending her tumbling back slightly.

Azadi was a fool, although he did indeed think of an attack that could kill the beast he did not protect himself from the blast at all. His left arm was desecrated leaving only about half a bicep in its place. The rest was gone, his side was singed and burned and the part of his arm that wasn't gone looked grotesque.

He was sent flying back tumbling on the ground, he used his remaining right hand to grab onto the earth and slow his tumble. His adrenaline was pumping so hard that he could barely feel anything at all but with what he did feel it was an almost unbearable pain from hell itself.

He then looked up from the ground at the creature that had been launched into a tree with its chest bursted open from the explosion

but horrifically the beast had survived the initial blast. This was possibly one of the worst outcomes for them. Once it overcame its daze from the blast it would be enraged and garuntee that his death would not be by his lonesome.

He launched himself forward desperately trying to reach the creature before it could react to anything and luckily enough he was finally able to grasp its throat with his hand and right before it could come out of its daze another boom was heard echoing through out the forest garunteeing its death but it did not come without cost, he had lost his right hand as well. Though the beast was almost certainly dead he kept stabbing the creatures head with his right hand bone in rage.

"Eeeeuugghh! Bastard! Die! Die! Eugh! Eugh! Eugh! Eugh! Eugh!"

After smashing the creatures head into nothing but pulp and his heart pounding far past the healthy amount he finally. stopped bashing and got up and with gritted teeth and pained breaths he stumbled to tree finally resting.

"Aaaaaagghhh! Fuuueehhhh! This hurts like hell!"

His adrenaline was running thin and the pain was rushing to his brain and he began sobbing and groaning in pain, although the sobbing sounded almost like hysteric laughter than anything. The pain was fogging his mind making it harder to think by the passing moment but he had to maintain focus after all his ability relied on the mind.

'I need to heal.. how to heal.. can I heal? If I can't heal I won't have my hands anymore… Do I even have enough energy to be able to heal? No it doesn't matter I'll do it anyways!'

Before he even began thinking of a way to heal himself Dahlia had gotten up from her dazed state and ran towards Azadi in a panic.

"W- What the hell did you do! Your arm! Your hand!"

She frantically tried patching him up and in her desperation tries something unusual as if it was the most natural thing in the world. The plant began to grow and wrap around him and started to emit a dim glow.

"I- it's healing you! The plants! The plants! They are healing! They can heal you!"

Though what she said was true that her plants were indeed healing him, the ability to regrow his limbs was well the idea was far fetched to even them who had in the past hour experienced lots of impossible and unusual stuff.

He was right they weren't regrowing the limbs as suspected. So he thought of him self regrowing limbs the same exact way he caused the explosions, wings, and sword previously in a attempt to regain his limbs. It was working slowly but it hurt worse than even the injury it was healing itself, if the explosion hurt like hell this pain now was worse than anything hell could dish out. Bones sprouted and regrew and nerves shot out and grew longer exposing itself to air causing a electrocuting pain rip throughout his entire body. The pain was awful but atleast he was getting his limbs back.

"Eeeeeugghh! Gaaauhhhh!"

The plants were helping as well helping reattach ligaments and muscles but before Azadi could fully regain his limbs his screams of pain stopped along with the regeneration.

"Come on Azadi wake the hell up!"

Her hands emitted a glow as well the same glow emitted from the plants only far stronger. It healed almost three times as fast as the plants did but took almost four times the energy aswell. She was able to repair him the best she could but there were still plenty of scars left on his left arm but his right hand had been completely healed. She could only heal him by reattaching and mending she couldn't make new flesh for him herself.

"Stupid son of a!- never mind I need to get us to somewhere safe first."

She grabbed his unconscious body and put him on her back and started carrying him out the forest.

"Huh suprisingly lighter than I expected."

She moved through the forest for about an hour picking any berries and fruits or whatever seemed edible to eat and put it into the bags they had been mysteriously equipped with which for some reason seemed to have more room than they really should. She was fitting far more in the bags than should have been possible and was a great help to her when she stumbled across a fruit tree.

She finnaly stopped to rest after carrying him for so long and put Azhadi next to her and then grabbe the bag and took out some food. She ate half the loaf of bread they had left and some of the fruits she had picked from the tree.

"Hope you don't mind that I'm eating this haha.."

In her curiosity she tried it again, she tried to make the plants grow the same way she had before and to her delightful suprise the bud she was focusing on bloomed on the spot.

"Haha! Awesome! I wonder if I can make them grow more?"

She spent another hour working on her ability to manipulate the plants and managed to actually get a small dome of plants around them making them a small shelter right before nightfall.

"Woah that really is exhausting aughh"

Azadi started to stir from his sleep. Now ontop of a makeshift plant bed made from Dahlia's ability he awoke and layed there trying to clear his fogged mind.

"Aughh where the hell?"

Dahlia who had been resting on a makeshift bed next to his quickly turned to him.

"Ohhhh look who's awake? Here."

She threw him the remaining half loaf and some fruits.

"What the hell type of weird ass fruit is this?"

Dahlia who had already eaten the fruits assured him that they were not poisonous which Azadi then proceeded to eat the fruits and bread in the dimly lit room.

"How long was I out?"

Dahlia who was looking through the small gaps in the plants to look outside told him:

"Not any longer than like an hour I think. It is night now though so I managed to make this little room for us and some beds so we could be safe for the night."

Azadi who was now also looking through the gaps of the plants curiously.

"So you can controll plants and heal? How useful."

Azadi finished his bread and fruit before he just layed on the bed.

"Yeah it is pretty useful let me patch you up pretty well."

Azadi looked at his scarred hands that had previously been completely disfigured or just straight up gone. His hands were shaking and he couldint stop the shaking no matter how hard he tried. Even though the pain and damage from the explosions were gone, the trauma of dealing with that much pain as a child had not left his psyche unscathed.

"Thank you…"

Dahlia looked back at him and then looked at his shakey hands.

"Yeah… sorry it left some scars but umm.. atleast you have hands right?"

Azadi let out a laugh at her remark.

"Yes atleast I have my hand hahaha."

Before they could continue their conversation they hear something from outside the plant dome. It was movement, rustling and the sound of running. They both peeked outside and what they saw shook them to their core. Under the moonlight they saw multiple horrid monstrosities throughout the night hunting.

"Thank god your made this shelter or else…"

Before he said anymore he erased the thought of them being feasted upon my such creatures and tried to sleep but he kept hearing them move and growl and fight. It kept them both up for more than two hours before they could finally sleep.

This forest although bland looking was truly terrifying.

'We need to get the hell out of this damned forest tommorow..'

With this last thought he drifted to sleep.
