I am happy that people like the character development. It was always the plan to make him a bit more confident throughout the story. My thinking was that someone pulled from friends/family to a world they don't really know with powers they barely understand would need time to adjust mentally.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I approached the dungeon I had just bought on the first floor; the entrance was simply a raised cave opening that led deeper in the ground. Walking into it I got a notification.
[Dungeon: Slime cavern (Easy) resets every 12 hours]
Monsters: Slimes
Boss: King slime
Rewards: Slime extract, weak healing potion, +20XP
"Hmm interesting" I say to myself "now let's see how this looks"
Walking through the dungeon it was quite simple, just natural looking rooms that kept on going in a straight line. The boss room was just a larger cavern that had a massive slime in it, it looked even bigger than the boss of the first floor.
"Let's make this a bit more interesting" I said as I pulled out some cheap swords and spears scattering a few around the dungeon "That should do it".
Moving to the third floor I followed the map marker to the dungeon opening, which really was an opening, just a literal hole in the ground in the middle of the rocky plains. Dropping down I received the notification for this specific dungeon.
[Dungeon: Scorpion den (medium) resets every 12 hours]
Monsters: Scorpions
Boss: King scorpion
Rewards: Chitin shield, weak healing potion, +50 XP
Unlike the previous dungeon, this one had tunnels going four different directions from the entrance. Taking each tunnel took a while but eventually found the boos, this one was bigger than the normal scorpions and instead of their black this one was brown. After leaving the dungeon I made my way to the fifth floor location of the next one.
[Dungeon: Goblin encampment (medium) resents every 14 hours]
Monsters: Goblin, Goblin warrior
Boss: Goblin chieftain
Rewards: healing potion, iron studded leather armor piece, +100XP
The fifth-floor dungeon was a lot different from the previous ones, like the first floor it was a raised cave entrance but that is where the similarities end. The caverns were obviously made instead of being natural, there were no separate rooms or tunnels. Instead the sections were separated by wooden gates with goblins guarding them. The boss monster though looked the same as the normal fifth floor boss except for some better armor.
Moving to the fifth floor I found He Tun hunting a few goblins. It seems he's gotten better at fighting; each strike of his sword is a lot more precise than when I last saw him.
"He Tun, I have something to tell you" I called out.
Quickly dispatching the goblin he turned to me "Callum what is it?"
"Follow me," I replied.
Leading him over to the fifth floor dungeon I explained what exactly it was and how it could be used to level faster then hunting in the open. I even explained the rewards that come with it, including the health potion I had used on his son a while ago.
"Do you ever intend to go to the sixth floor?" I questioned.
"I don't know, my family is safe and I can live peacefully in the safe zone with them, if I do go I don't think it would be permanent" is his answer.
"Fair enough, you didn't exactly come here willingly so I wont try and convince you to keep climbing, but if you do just know that I will lend some help"
"Why?"
"Why? What"
"Why help us so much?"
"Like you I didn't exactly come here willingly, and you were the first people I met, mostly I just wanted to be able to speak to people"
Turning to me HE Tun bowed deeply "thank you for your help"
"You are welcome" I replied, motioning for him to stand back up "You should also know that it won't be long till some of the fire nation make it up to the fifth floor, you should be prepared for that"
"I knew that would happen at some point but as long as we stay on the fifth floor we will be fine"
"Good" I paused, then I walked back to the fifth floor entrance. I sat under a tree near it and pulled up my main status page.
Entering the shop, the first thing I looked for was the other bending disciplines, there was even all of the sub bending which was good to know. Ever since coming here people have repeatedly commented on my appearance and even have mistaken me for a spirit multiple times.
"Search, illusion and shifting"
[Shop]
Illusion-200 points
Shape shifting-1,000 points
Dimensional shifting- 1,000 points
"Dimensional shifting?" I questioned the system.
[Dimensional shifting: this ability allows you to move between dimensions allowing for short distance travel and storage of items]
"So it's basically teleportation and storage space in one" I commented "How about shape shifting"
[Shape shifting: this ability allows you to change your form at will, your excess mass will be stored during this processed as such you cannot change into anything larger than yourself]
"Kind of disappointing but how about illusion"
[Illusion: this ability allows you to create visual changes to yourself or the environment these illusions cannot damage things or change things permanently]
"Alright that would work well, I kind of want shapeshifter but for now let's just save up for some bending and illusion" I said opening my current points.
[97 tower points]
"Well this could take a while, should have saved my points when I had them"
Deciding to fill my time with busy work I spent the next day or two searching around the tower looking up at the fire nation; who is now on the fourth floor; it seams that a lot of their people are still low leveled because unlike He Tun they are only allowed a certain amount of time to hunt. Honestly I am tempted to lead a firebender to the class stone as I don't know how it would react, if at all. Near the end of the second day, I did end up with enough points to choose one of my marked abilities or some bending.
[302 tower points]
"Alright let's get some bending" I said, pulling up the shop.
[Shop]
Airbending- 300 points
Waterbending- 300 points
Earthbending- 300 points
Firebending- 300 points
"I really want airbending but I don't think the show went into much detail about exactly how to airbend" I paused thinking "Purchase both airbending and waterbending"
[Error! Not enough points]
"At least I know that having multiple bends is possible", immediately after I said that I started laughing almost uncontrollably "Hahahahah, I could turn myself into the avatar".
It took a while to calm down after that but when I did I finally had chosen which bending to start with.
"Purchase Illusion" ultimately I decided to go with none of them, at least until I ask Zhao a question.
A book fell into my hands, this one was a light green with the word illusion across the binding. I quickly learned it feeling the new ability form inside of me. "Alright let's start off easy"
Holding out my hand a small rock appeared in my palm "That was easy?" I questioned, I expected it to be much harder.
Walking over to a small stream I looked over it and focused on my face and body watching as they slowly morphed into something more familiar, my appearance from my home world.
"I don't know why but this feels wrong somehow?"
Quickly changing my appearance again, I saw the illusion shift to look like Aang, then Soka, the Zuko.
"Wait Zuko is royalty even if he is banished"
[Invitation]
[Prince Zuko you are a banished prince in search of redemption, yet you are not yet strong enough to face an avatar. You have been invited to the tower where you will gain greater power than even your father holds]
[Map link]
'That should do it' I thought as I sent the invitation.
POV Zuko
"Uncle! What is this" I yelled as something showed up in my vision.
"What is prince Zuko?" Uncle Iroh responded.
"What is this thing in front of my face?" I yelled increasingly frustrated with his carefree attitude.
Finally looking towards him Iroh commented "I do not see anything in front of you prince Zuko" he paused "What do you see"
Describing it to him I felt crazy trying to make him understand what I was seeing.
"It is the stress prince Zuko, you need to rest you have yet to recover completely"
"I know what I see!"
"The eyes can play tricks Zuko especially in such trying times for you as these please rest"
Letting out a grunt I walked back to my cabin on the ship and layed down with the blue box still in front of me 'what is the tower' I thought. Eventually though I fell asleep and when I woke up it was gone.
POV Callum
[Your invitation has been turned down]
"Wait what? That can happen!" I practically yelled.
