Unfortunately my dream of climbing up the tower that was Nova had forcefully come to a bitter end. Supposedly her blade had been chipped in the battle against the holy army and she wanted to fix it as soon as possible, I was well aware of how precious that sword was to her since it was a gift from her deceased mother.
It also made me realize that the only reason for joining me in the bath was just to spend time together. The thought made me feel warm although I still felt as if cold water was poured on my head, I was looking forward to spending some intimate time with Nova which left me in a state of irritation.
"It's been a boring day" I let out a soft sigh as I walked through the grand hallway.
There were chandeliers hanging from the celling every dozen or so feet illuminating my surroundings. It had been an incredibly monotone day besides a few moments, I had returned home and then spent hours finishing up all the work that I had abandoned.
'I should have made Kai do it….' I clicked my tongue while promising to push tomorrow's duties onto him.
What good was a competent subordinate if you didn't put them to work.
I continue forward with my hands in my pockets making my way toward the northern side of the palace. I would have already reached my room if i didn't go out of my way to see if Dawn was still lying in the garden, She was nowhere to be found which meant she was either already in her room or being lazy somewhere.
All of my wives had their own separate rooms and traded days when they would spend the night with me. One might think that it's weird that a husband didn't sleep with his wives every night but I wouldn't take complaints until you've shared a room with multiple women, It's torture that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
It was more beneficial for all of us to have our own spaces where we can relax if necessary, Although Gianna and Nova rarely spent the night away from me.
'What should I do with tomorrow?' I wondered in my head trying to find something that could entertain me.
I got closer and closer to my destination and It was already late in the evening so I didn't expect to see anyone besides servants walking around. Yet I raised an eyebrow when I saw another figure walking in my direction just up ahead, My pace slowed down as a slim man with medium length golden hair came into view.
His skin color was a shade slightly darker than Gianna while a pair of pointy ears poked out to the sides. It was obvious that the man was on the skinnier side although he looked very agile with his long limbs. His hazel colored eyes only added to his appearance that bordered more on the realm of feminine, it was to the point that most woman would find him attractive especially because he was a rare elf.
"Tch" The dark skinned man soon noticed me and I could hear a subtle sound ringing out.
'Did he just click his tongue at me?' I felt my eye twitching but I held myself back from cutting off his head.
'He's lucky Gianna is his sister…' if anyone else showed me such disrespect they wouldn't live a second longe.
"Gio" I came to a slow stop in front of him as I saw his expression morph into one of annoyance for a split second.
"Your majesty" Gio bowed his head shallowly as the golden locks swayed.
"You're out late tonight" I made the type of awkward small talk one did to the sibling of their significant other.
"…." Gio on the other hand didn't even bother hiding his dislike at having a conversation with me.
"Yes well my sister seems to think that I need to train until I can't walk" He muttered in irritation while rubbing one of his shoulders with a bitter expression.
'If didn't visit brothels so frequently she wouldn't care what you did'
"Gianna only wants what's best for you" The words I thought and the ones I spoke were very different.
"Yes…." Gio frowned and bowed his head once again as if he was trying to quickly escape.
"I'll be off then your majesty" The dark skinned man met my eyes one last time with obvious discomfort in them.
"…." I watched him walk away with narrowed eyes until he disappeared from view.
'He could at least pretend to hide his dislike of me' I thought but in all honesty I didn't really care that much.
There were only a few people who would dare to even breath wrong in front of me which is why I thought it was actually refreshing. Gio was Gianna's younger brother so I saw no reason to get into conflict with him simply because of his attitude, Although I was pretty sure Gianna wouldn't care if I didn't beat some respect into him.
'And I did kill most of his clan….' I kinda felt bad which is why I hadn't forcefully corrected his attitude yet.
Unlike Gianna who didn't blame me Gio undoubtedly held hatred for the person who had slaughtered and imprisoned his race. At least he was smart enough to know just how far he could go before he shared the same fate, There were many people who didn't understand their place in the past who had found bloody ends.
