Chapter 6: The 5th named (3)
Light slowly traversed Nero's body, flowing through all his blood veins, brightening the darkest corners of his internal body. Nero follows the illumination throughout his body, finally returning back to his heart where the elemental mana core is.
"Now that i've confirmed that it's flowing through my veins… how do I-" The mana core crackled, pulsing with energy, a signal that it's generating mana cells.
*pulse*
One after another, the speed of repetition increases, at some point finally it suddenly stops. Mana cells that were suspended in his blood stuttered, the core shining a purple hue, discharged rays of lightning in all directions. Swiftly avoiding the lightning, Nero saw as the lighting connected each mana cell to another, like a coil wrapping around a magnet, they all starting rotating around his blood cells simulating a electromagnet generator.
Nero, who felt a tingle in his body, turned to electrifying pain as if his feathers were being plucked, returning back to reality, his eyes glowed a purple hue as he found himself still in the middle of Zeus's rage. Pain continued to spread all over his body, from his heart to body and all the way towards his brain.
"Fuck!" Nero screamed in agony, his bones searing hot like melting iron burning his tissues, blood rushing through his body at abnormal speeds, his heart pumping increasingly faster to match his mana core's generation.
The mana cells within his body were coiled fixed to his blood cells and spinned, current rushing through every part of his being causing Nero to toss and turn on the ground in agony. Using all his might he crashed his head into the ground, discharging the current into the ground. Cracks began rupture as abnormal lightning emerged from the ground where Nero grounded his body, sending shockwaves lashing in all directions. Nero started to mutate, adapting to his new mana core, his body grew larger, stronger… feathers started emitting a purple hue at its end, his once greyish thin legs reshaped to razor sharp claws.
A final shock wave was discharged from his body, the unended storm clouds of the forest of thunder cleared up, scared crows flocked away from the shockwave and a earsplitting strike could be heard all over the forest. Small black feathers were snowing down from the sky, amidst the black snow, a purple glow was seen… then disappeared, as it zapped into the sky.
…
"M-Master dick! Reporters from all over the continent has come to ask to have an audience with the baron" A butler screamed as he kicked open the door, his uniform still in chaos with his hair all messed up.
"I swear to… ha… Why is this happening?" lamented as Dick Coalson massaged the side of head in stress. 'Not only are we scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to maintain my status… but even the expedition to the forest of thunder was called off bec-'
"Ha… prepare me my horse butler, i'll go take a short break around my territory with my stead." He dismissed to his butler as he stood up, turning to look out the dust covered window, and sees the reporters crowding in front of his mansion's gate as guards pushing them back filled him with disgust.
Walking through the halls, the sound of reporters chattering could even be heard from the second story. Dick's annoyance started to rise through the roof when even screams of shouting simpletens called reporters yelled so obnoxiously loud that he could vaguely hear "what's the situation with the forest of thunder's notorious sunless sky?" This question was his final breaking point, steam was emitted from the top of his blond head as he stormed out the front door.
The reporters, seeing an appearance, all started pushing the useless guards harder as the relentless rotten zombie hoard called reporters swarmed the baron. Questions from left and right bombarded him, "what's with the noise in the forest of thunder" "did the loud noise come from your recent failed expedition" "How is your current affairs in ruling your territory" "how may you plan to solve this endeavor"... Random questions piled up, the fuse between his calmness and recklessness snapped.
Breathing in… "move… before i count to 3, unless you want to become a vegetable" Dick said with a wicked smile as he tilted his head, while cracking his knuckles. Like a puff of smoke, all reporters vanished within his field of vision, and Dick walked out of the gates of his manor. Leaping onto his stead, he rode off to the side of the territory for a break…
…
Speeding on his stead along the side of the forest of thunder, Dick Coalson looked towards the sky… in awe, Dick slowed downed as he turned his body towards the forest… the scent of the grass dissipates the closer you get towards the forest, replaced with the smell of burnt wood, the sound of the bustling town he rules goes more deaf with each step he takes forward. 'A forest of misfortune' an environment harsh towards the living but favourable to mon-
Being cut off mid thought, Dick blocks a surprise attack to his side, flinging him sideways along the rode as the horse was scared off. "This shit luck…an Abyssbear!" He complained…
Monsters… creatures of the impossible. Every Living creature in this world is born with a functioning heart protecting its mana core even before they're birth, but monsters… are animals that were born with a deformity before birth, born without a heart but instead solely a mana core. These monstrosities fix their mana, mutating their body into the 4 main elements. 'Hell' being fire, 'Abyss' being water, 'Tempest' being wind, and 'Crystallized' for earth. Similar to continent guardians, monsters could only use one specific element… unless… However unlike them, monsters lack the intelligence of any living being, rushing towards fellow animals and attacking pedestrians, simply put monsters are brainless bloodthirsty beasts.
With the thunderclouds that cause Zeus's rage, an 'unexplainable' magical disaster that keeps monsters from even being born within the forest is now gone, this heaven for monsters is what attracted the Abyssbear to mark its territory.
Unluckily for Dick, his empty hands unequipped with his specially made gauntlets, has no physical effect on this Abyessbear of water. Moving into a combat stance, whilst slowly backing away, Dick realized what's behind him… his town… the town he swore to protect even though he resents it… knowing this. His eyes calmed and his gaze was flexed towards the monster, determined…
Thunder suddenly crackled, but there's no time to worry… Dick thought, as the Abyssbear lashed towards him with bloodthirst, leaving a trail of water behind. Ducking to the left, Dick narrowly dodges its attack and throws a liver punch charged with 'reinforced 'mana. The pressure generated pushed Dick's power leg down into the ground, leaving him exposed.
'That's… enough right?' As the dust cleared up, Dick found his fist lodged within the Abyssbear's water body unable to escape. With that the Abyssbear twists its body and nails him right in the gutter.
Blood was shot out of his mouth with the monster's claws reshaped into a drill to continue the impact, sending Dick into the sky.
Descending back to the ground, Dick's body was utterly tattered, the skies turning darker and darker with each step the Abyssbear took towards him… He stood back up, with the town behind him, Dick's defeat is not an option!
Thunder roared… A violet light flashed in front of him, blinking his… the Abyssbear… stood there with a gaping hole where the mana core was located… before evaporating into thin air.
Relief, Dick's body dropped to the ground, goddamn blood was leaking from all his pores, he smiled knowing he protected it…
"Job well down, take a break, I'll talk with you when you wake up"
