Haylie POV
The coldness enveloped my body as I swam through the murky depths. My limbs grew heavy, and my lungs screamed for air, but ahead, a faint glimmer of light pierced the darkness. With every ounce of strength, I pushed forward, desperate to reach it.
As I broke the surface, gasping for breath, the air rushed into my lungs like a blessing. Relief was short-lived, though, as I realized I wasn't in familiar waters.
I found myself in an otherworldly cavern, the water shimmering with an eerie glow. I swam to the edge, the rough surface beneath my hands grounding me as I climbed out. Suddenly, a burning sensation ignited on the mark etched on my neck, radiating warmth through my skin.
"Liam."
His presence was undeniable, pulling me like a tether. He was close—closer than he'd been in what felt like an eternity.
