Chapter 20 - Part 20. Organizing the Escape Plan

"You don't believe me, sir?" asked Haisley as Lucas remained silent.

"If you could, why couldn't you fight back against my men who dragged you away that day?" asked Lucas, looking astonished at Haisley.

"How could I fight back if they pointed a gun at my father and brother? I wanted to run away and fight back, but they held my father and brother down. I couldn't fight back at all. Not to mention when they threatened to kill my father and brother outright if I ran away. So, I really couldn't escape from your men. Right now, you can handle it. So, I should be able to fight them," said Haisley, who looked at Lucas with confidence that she could fight the people who had kidnapped her.

"Let's make sure we can fight them first," Lucas said, and Haisley put her keys under the bed. However, she felt that it would be discovered, so she chose to put the key inside her bra. It was placed on her lower chest.

"What are you doing?" asked Lucas, his eyes rounded at what Haisley was doing.

"If you put it under the bed, they might find it. If it's here," said Haisley and held her chest. "They probably won't, I'm a woman, they shouldn't do such a brazen thing," Haisley said.

"What if they find the key?" asked Lucas.

"Well before they do, we need to get out. Don't you want to get out of here?" asked Haisley.

"Of course I want to get out of here, but we have to plan carefully. Because we are no match for those who are more numerous than the two of us," said Lucas.

"Don't think too much about strategy, sir. If we think too long about strategy, we don't know what the future holds. Didn't you hear what they said? We might not be alive for a while," said Haisley.

"You heard that, but why are you so crazy just because you're hungry?" asked Lucas.

"The last meal before I die, at least I can eat a good meal before I die. In the past, if I wanted that food, it took me several months to eat a piece of chicken or a burger. I can't cook, so I can only collect money and buy that food," Haisley replied.

Lucas fell silent as he stared at Haisley with a look of who-knows-what. "No need to look at me like that, sir. Actually, my father used to be a businessman, but the death of my mother made my father depressed, and he ended up not managing his business. His men lied to him, so his men's debts piled up and were in my father's name. My brother had to work to pay off the debts and take care of my depressed father in addition to taking care of me, who was still a baby at the time. That's why I'm repaying what my brother did when I was a baby," Haisley said and smiled.

Lucas was still staring at Haisley. "Sir," Haisley called out because Lucas was still silent.

Lucas immediately snapped out of his silence and turned his face away. They both remained silent, there was no conversation at all. Haisley finally chose to get off the bed and walk towards the direction where she could still walk. Her legs were indeed cuffed, but they were not cuffs that made it difficult for her to walk, so she could walk around.

Haisley was not just walking around, she was looking for something to do. She was a weak-looking woman, but her hobby was watching action movies, so she knew a little something. Haisley then noticed the chain connected to her leg.

"What an idiot," said Haisley realizing something.

She immediately took out the key and ran to Lucas. "What's wrong?" asked Lucas, surprised that Haisley was suddenly running towards him.

"We can use the chains, sir," said Haisley.

Lucas frowned, not understanding what Haisley meant. "My chain is not connected to the bedpost. So, we can use this chain to strangle them. Dropping the weapon by playing with the chain. It's enough to make the head leak if you use more force when the chain is hit on the head," said Haisley.

Lucas understood what Haisley meant. Haisley quickly uncuffed Lucas' hands and feet first. She tried to remain calm because if she was nervous, it would be difficult for her to find the key to the handcuffs. The handcuff key was supposed to be in a package, but it turned out that the handcuff key was not. Haisley really had to be patient.

She finally finished removing the handcuff keys from Lucas's hands and feet. Now it was Haisley's turn to help Lucas get the handcuffs open. "Just lock the handcuffs on the bedpost first, sir. Hands and the other leg later. The most important thing is to get the chain off," Haisley said.

Lucas immediately complied after he finished unlocking one handcuff on Haisley's leg. This time there was no resistance from Lucas to Haisley's idea because, in his opinion, what Haisley said was right.

Once the chain was off, then Lucas removed the cuffs on Haisley's hands and feet. The bodyguards really didn't enter the room, because maybe they didn't want to deal with Haisley, who was raging like earlier. They also still hadn't realized that their keys were missing.

The room's complete lack of windows left them with no other way out but the door where the bodyguards were surely waiting. "Let's wait on the bed, sir. That way they won't notice that our cuffs are off. When they come closer, we'll tie their necks and smother their mouths with a pillow or blanket," Haisley said.

Lucas paused, wondering what Haisley should do about it. There was definitely more than one bodyguard. At least two people would enter the room. There was only one chain, so how could the other bodyguards be dealt with?

"There must be more than one person who entered here," Lucas said.

"Yes," replied Haisley.

"Yes?" asked Lucas, staring in disbelief at Haisley, who only said yes.

"We only have one chain," said Lucas.

"There are still these cuffs, and the blanket," said Haisley casually.

"Most importantly, make sure they're close to the bed so that instead of suffocating them we can shut their mouths with the blanket or pillow," Haisley continued to say.

Haisley's words sound easy, but I don't know how they'll be executed.
