"Jeez! I'm freezing!" A young girl of seventeen years complained while looking through the library window.

Her eyes landed on a heavily falling snow with the fog that reduced the sight to as short as ten meters, and with the wind whispering sharply on the outside.

The world has drastically changed and become completely irregular and no scientific explanation to define this.

The temperature across the world has drastically dropped to the point of freezing the oceans and the seas, and threaten the acquar life. Even the deserts were now flooded by the freezing ice, and sunbathing isn't a thing anymore.

Even the length of days and nights had been affected as sometimes, the nights would be elongated to upto fourteen hours while shortening the daylight. And the sun might even shine for as long as twenty hours that didn't make any sense at all.

People could have painted the blame to the greenhouse effect but, even them are brave enough to understand that such effects would have taken place at a slower rate.

This all had taken place just within three months, that made people to fear for something mythical to happen soon; maybe the dooms day, as most christians have been preparing for the second coming of the Messiah, and so do other religions doing the same in the best way they could.

"You know, Physics say if we allow ourselves to get close enough to the point of making contact, we might..."

"Amra, if you dare move even an inch close to me..." The girl spoke while cutting short the black haired boy as she grabbed a pen from the table, and give him a dead stare.

"I was just stating the fa... Forget it, I hate Physics anyways." Amra muttered while returning to his reading, but of course disappointed for missing yet another chance.

The two, Amra and Aniwah could be described as the best friends in the entire world and always fated to end up together.

It was like they were destined to always be together no matter what.

They were delivered at the same date and time in the same hospital with not even a second elapsing.

They went on the some school ever since from kindergarten to now, and even the high school they were in, they subconsciously selected the same school and ended up together, on which they "hated it."

Generally, a lot of coincidental events had been happening in their life that doesn't have any meaning, or explanation.

The two are bonded, and their bond is way stronger than those of twins. But unfortunately, the two can't last five minutes together without fighting, and yet they won't live without each other.

"But seriously, you don't..."

"Amra, if you utter anything else I'm gonna cut your b@lls and feed them to you." Aniwah muttered with her eyes still locked on her book.

"Oh my goodness!" Amra muttered.

"You really have a dead wish, don't you?" Aniwah furiously spoke while turning to Amra.

However, she found Amra's concentration wasn't even on her. Instead, he was looking through the window with his eyes poked out like he was staring at the Grim Reaper.

Curiously, Aniwah turned and look towards the window, and what she made her to gulp heavily with her heart skipping a beat.

From a distance, a shadow of cloud could be seen approaching furiously and rapidly.

It was so dark that it could be seen through the fog, and it did had the lighting of all seven colors of the rainbow zigzagging across it with the thunderous melody rumbling within the cloud of shadows.

Everything it touched seemed to tremble beneath it, and with how fast it was approaching, it didn't give a chance of escaping.

But even then, where could one possible run that it wouldn't touch

But at this situation, logic seemed to have escaped the students' head as they started charging around while creating chaos at the top floor of Elton High school library.

"The end of days is real!" A student screamed while running.

"Shut up! I don't believe in such nonsense!" Aniwah screaming and quickly silencing the student.

But even then, she couldn't help but wonder what was happening around, and the only way of finding was going through.

With the shadow touching the walls if the library, the windows screamed as the glasses shuttered to million of pieces, and making the library to be freezing as an entrance had been granted to the cold breeze.

But it all lasted to just a minute and everything changed the moment the whole library, or world was enclosed by a total darkness.

Everything went silent, like the entire world was on mute and not even a single heartbeat could be heard at any corner of the world.

People were breathing heavily, but certainly not loud enough for a person an inch away to hear, and they all felt like they have been touched, simultaneously, by some mythical strange hand that altered something within them.

As that happened, a golden screen with bluish writings suddenly materialized in front of every single living creature in the entire universe, in the language that they could best understand.

The screen lasted for just a minute and everything that happened next made every creature to curse the day of their birth.

They all experienced unexplainable amount of pain, more like something had hit them hard in the ribcage and knock the air out of them, and forcing them to crushe on the floor in pain.

That wasn't the end of it though. They also felt like their bones were being melted down while reforming at the same time, that placed under a total agony as their selves were being transformed.

The screen displayed again a short while after.

It was just about thirty seconds but it felt like thirty good years of living in hell.

"For some reasons I feel like that was way better than living with you." Amra muttered while standing.

He looked around only to see the top floor of the library almost empty with the cloud of shadows long gone.

"Tonight," Aniwah gritted her teeth while standing, "while at your deepest sleep. I'm gonna do something to you that would hurt you forever!" She spoke while stomping her feet using every single strength of her fiber.

As she did though, the ground beneath her feet suddenly cracked as a hole had been created beneath her that swallow her and sent her to the lower floor.

"Great! And now she's strong, and mean!" Amra complained after witnessing this.

He couldn't help but got surprised by Aniwah's display of strength. Even though she had always been stronger and bested Amra at everything single fight, she certainly was never that strong to kick a hole through the ground, and Amra could only guess this had something to do with the cloud of shadows.

"What are you doing?" Aniwah spoke after regaining her footings and looked over to Amra who had a displeased look. "Jump over and let's get out of here quickly. I feel like something is wrong!" She commanded.

"Ahhh... I'd rather take the stairs.!" Amra muttered while turning around.

But just as he took the next step, something, a giant rat, suddenly shot from the ceiling of the building and landed on his face.

Amra was caught completely of guarded and before he could even react, the rat had already dipped its claws deep in his eyes, and sunk it even more deeper.

"Ahhhhh!" Amra screamed while falling to his back, but he didn't meet the ground as he landed on top of the table that they were previously studying on.

He rolled around the table while wrestling the giant rat off his face, but it was all effortless.

By luck, his hand landed on Aniwah's pen and Amra didn't hesitate to grab it and using all the strength of his fiber to thrust the pen on the rat's neck.
