Chapter 3 - Chapter Three: A Dangerous Secret

Zara felt a blush creeping up her cheeks. "No, it's not that," she stammered. "It's just... it's a lot to take in."

Zane nodded understandingly. "I know. But trust me, you'll be okay. We'll figure this out together."

He paused, his gaze softening. "And don't worry about scaring your aunt. I can control myself. Besides, I'm not the only one who can shift."

Zara's eyes widened. "What do you mean?"

"You, too, have the ability to shift," Zane explained. "It's a part of your nature, a part of you that you've been suppressing."

"How do you know? I don't even know myself'" Zara shook her head. She was overwhelmed. The idea of transforming into a creature of the night was both terrifying and exhilarating. She didn't know if she was ready for such a drastic change.

"I don't know if I can do it," she admitted, her voice barely a whisper.

Zane reached out and took her hand. " Zara, I'll be there to guide you every step of the way."

He paused, his eyes searching for hers. "But first, we need to find out more about your parents. Perhaps there are clues in their past that can shed some light on your heritage."

Zane could sense that she is a werewolf, but she is also something else. Something that he himself could not point out what is. It makes him want to know more.

Zara, her curiosity piqued, decided to change the topic. "So, what's your business in the bar, anyway? And who was that other guy with you?" she asked, her eyes narrowing slightly.

Zane chuckled. "Well, the bar is a place where supernatural creatures like us meet and discuss matters of importance. As for the other guy, he's a member of our pack."

Zara nodded, trying to process the information. "A pack, huh?"

Zane smiled. "Yes. We live in a pack, where we look out for each other."

"Interesting. So, why am I not in the pack? Or why are my parents live out of the pack?" Zara was thinking and did not realized she was saying her thought out loud.

Zane just keep silent, letting her process the news for now. That was something that he himself is wondering. What had happened to her parents? Why weren't they live with their pack?

"Zara, we will find the answers. You can not do this alone. I hope you can trust me to help you."

"Why?" Zara asked, she felt her heart beat faster after blurting the question.

He paused, his eyes lingering on her face. "You know, I've been watching you for a while now. There's something about you, something captivating."

Zara's heart skipped a beat. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper. She had never seen him before, but he said he had been watching her for a while? Creepy alarm just blinking in her head.

Zane leaned in closer, his voice low. "You're strong, independent, and incredibly beautiful. And there's a wildness in your eyes that draws me in."

Zara felt a shiver run down her spine. Had he really been watching her? The thought of someone observing her without her knowledge made her uneasy. She tried to shake off the feeling, but it persisted.

"I think I should go," she said abruptly, pulling away from him. "I have work to finish."

As she stood up, she couldn't help but glance back at Zane. He was staring at her with an intensity that made her skin crawl. She forced herself to turn away and walk out of the bar, leaving Zane alone with his thoughts.
