The sun rose across the horizon bathing Taurus in its golden rays as he stood in their garden, swinging a wooden sword.
It was a plain, short sword that was nothing fancy. Just enough to get him through the basics and teach him the proper stances.
He was certainly talented in Chris' eyes with how fast he was learning. Yet, his uncle could see the boredom in his eyes.
He related to how fast Taurus was progressing since he believed the boy was not facing any troubles or issues going forward.
"Straighten your back, boi!" Chris shouted from the distance as Taurus intentionally altered his stance a few minutes later.
Chris took the chance and wanted to raise Taurus' morals and break his current state.
However, Taurus had his plan on the other hand. He took the opportunity and decided to execute his plan after going through the basics, which he already knew very well.
"Uncle, this sword is boring! Is there nothing bigger I can swing?!" He grumbled before throwing the sword on the rough ground with all he had, turning it into nothing but a couple of wooden shreds scattered all around.
Chris stood frozen, feeling amazed by the strength Taurus displayed. At this moment, he understood his sister was not joking when she described what they had to go through.
"What do you have on mind, Taru?" Chris asked, wondering whether Taurus had any knowledge about weapons since he could clearly read and write very well.
"Big axe uncle! I want a long, big axe!" Taurus spoke while spreading his arms as far as he could.
"You want a war axe? Hahahaha!" Chris burst out laughing, wondering whether Taurus knew what war axes were not.
"Your grandpa has—"
"I want both! A war axe and an executioner's axe!" Taurus cut Chris through his speech, revealing that he knew what both axes were.
Executioner axes were massive and heavy, with a wide, broad blade meant for attacks that dealt high damage.
Massive cleavers for short. War axes were smaller and more compact compared to the executioner axes.
They had double-sided blades meant for faster, more agile attacks while still dealing enough damage.
With Taurus' current stats, he could use both types without sustaining any problems.
Hell, war axes were suitable to him since he was used to the Golden Mane.
But when it came to his operations and massive battles, he preferred using an executioner axe.
"How clever! But I didn't come prepared for such a situation. How about taking your mother's permission and if she agrees, I will take you with me to get you a pair."
Chris spoke before sitting on the grassy floor, doubting his sister would allow her son to have such a weapon this early.
He believed the axes the boy wanted couldn't be dangerous to him, but to the ones around him due to their lethality.
'But the same could also apply to swords…' Chris' thoughts deepened, conflicting with his previous ones.
Fortunately, Taurus returned a few minutes later after getting his permit.
"Mama agreed, Uncle Chris!" Taurus shouted, causing Chris to shake his head in dismissal.
'Whatever, he's not my responsibility.' Chris stood before taking Taurus' hand entering the house to confirm for himself.
"Sister!!!" He shouted the moment he stepped in and Alexandra met him a second later.
"Are you sure about your decision, sister? I will have to take him with me to pick up whatever he likes." Chris asked and Alexandra nodded her head, then he explained why he needed to take him back to the Eastel's Dukedom.
"It's fine, I believe he would harm no one. Am I right, my little pumpkin?!"
"YES, I WILL HARM NOBODY!" Taurus shouted excitedly before nodding.
'Just some Abyssum scum and corrupt bastards!' Unfountaly, he had different thoughts in mind, ones he preferred to be kept secret from them.
"See? Just take him already!" Alexandra spoke as if their presence was a nuance to her.
"Do you mind if I told the family about his awakening?"
"No, do whatever you want as long as you can keep him safe." With Alexandra's confirmation, Chris took Taurus' hand and left toward the eastern gates of the Pendragon Lands.
"Uncle, don't you want meet to my friend?" Taurus spoke along the way as they neared his grandfather's residence.
"Oh, sure," Chris responded, wondering what friend could the child have at his age.
"Mammoooooooooot!!!" Taurus shouted before dragging his uncle to where the titan stayed.
"Woooow, how is that your friend?" Chris asked curiously, feeling the pressure of Mammot's presence the moment the titan opened his eyes.
'What an annoying voice, what do you want this time?' Mammot relayed through the soul link as he stared at Chris, carefully assessing him.
'Just a little help, It's about time I take the Golden Mane back.' Taurus responded before rushing forward to his grandfather's shack, bringing the old man a few minutes later to meet Chris.
"Thank the heavens thou art here, old bones. The boy desireth an axe, and thou art a wielder of such a weapon. Thus, I deemed thee the perfect candidate to train him and, perchance, to pass on the spirit weapon unto its rightful heir."
Mammot spoke and Chris had his mouth wide open upon hearing the titan speak for the first time.
Yet, he couldn't understand most of the words and ended up surging his shoulder as the two continued their speech.
"Over mine own corpse, Mammot!" Theodore Pendragon shouted before casually greeting Chris as if he was already used to such things happening frequently.
"What a comedy is your defiance! Thou knowest full well it shall come to pass, be it sooner or later, so why dost thou persist?!"
Mammot smirked, proceeding to remind Theodore of his words the moment they met.
"Thou art a most vile and foul old man. Dost thou desire the spirit weapon to fall wholly into slumber ere thou shalt believe?"
The titan continued, reminding Thedore how the weapon began acting irresponsive once Taurus' training began.
"I, Theodore Pendragon, seek no such vile trickery, thou rude beast!" Theodore spoke, raising his right arm high proudly before continuing.
"I swear upon mine honor to bestow the weapon, should the child prove victorious against me once I have imparted unto him all that I know!"
The old continued continued as Mammot nodded while Taurus acted completely oblivious to what they meant just like his uncle standing between them.
"Granpa! Mammot! What did you talk about?!" Finally, Taurus spoke moments later, breaking the tension between the two speakers.
"Oh, It's nothing important." The old man spoke before patting Taurus softly on his shoulder.
"Will you continue training now?" He asked curiously, intending to leave the place to avoid getting implicated.
"No, Granpa. I'm going to get a pair of big axes!"
"I see! No wonder Chris is here." Taurus nodded with a light smile, giving the old man a silent approval.
"Pardon us, we shall leave now if you don't mind." Chris finally spoke with a smile before bowing in respect.
He didn't wish to stay there any longer, he felt like nothing more than a child in the presence of those two.
"Guard the child well, human. Yield thy life if the need is dire."
"Of course, I will. He's my nephew after all." Chris responded sincerely to Mammot's words despite not understanding most of the second half.
"Feel free to head out, and don't forget to greet your father on my behalf!" With Thedore's approval, Chris took Taurus' hand before waving his hand.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the eastern gates before riding the carriage Chris had come in earlier.
