Chapter 30 - Golden Aura? (2)

"What did you do now, you brat?" The old man turned around facing his playful grandson before asking with a serious face.

He found it annoying since the purpose was testing the aura's strength, but now he couldn't even touch his grandson, rendering the entire game pointless.

"I used my second skill and ran away!" The old man face palmed himself upon hearing his answer, knowing that already.

He took a moment to think in an attempt to figure out a solution to the current problem.

"Well, Taurus," He eventually gave up, choosing to explain his intent clearly.

"We can't know unless I'm able to land a hit on you, so will you stop using those skills?" The old man spoke and Taurus rubbed his hair in embarrassment.

'How is that my fault, old bones!' He thought for a second before nodding his head, choosing to go along with the old man's requests.

"Fine granpa, but I have a request!" He grumbled, acting annoying before pausing.

"I don't like the idea of allowing someone to hit me. So, can I defend myself?" Taurus continued a smug painting his small face.

"Oh you brat, but I still have my current turn to take then we can change it how you want. Is that okay?" The old man asked, prepared to go along with Taurus even if he disagreed.

"Em, granpa!" Taurus nodded as the old man struck the ground with his feet, sending himself flying toward Taurus who warped his arms around himself in a defensive stance.

The old man arrived, his punch accelerating toward Taurus once again before hitting his arms.

"What? Why forty?!" The old man's eyes widened as the small number appeared before his face.

He questioned knowing there were only two possible explanations for such an outcome.

Either the difference between their strength was too high or the aura Taurus had was incredibly strong.

'Why not both?' The old man thought, noticing the fact that his aura crumbled upon making contact while his grandson's aura remained intact.

"What is your strength attribute, brat?!" The old man asked, finding it the best way to know.

"Six hundred, granpa!" The old shook his head upon hearing Taurus' words.

What Taurus claimed could at most drop the number by thirty percent at best, but the drop he experienced was nearly eighty percent.

"Can we do what I wanted now?" Taurus asked excitedly, shaking the old man's thoughts.

"Yes, but keep your physical limit at 200!" The old man shouted before raising his left hand, clenching it into a fist before punching Taurus once again.

Taurus folded both of his hands before pushing them forward.

The massive punch connected with Taurus' hands, the backlash pushing the old man a couple of steps back

'Am I getting overpowered by a child?! What a joke!' He thought before rushing forward once again, finding it a laughable and worse, an embarrassing matter.

"Why are you smiling, granpa!?!" Taurus asked upon noticing the old man's facial expressions, guessing he was really enjoying their time together.

"Does it matter boy?! focus on the fight!" The old man's face changed, shouting at Taurus as another punch shot forward in an attempt to break his aura layer.

Taurus nodded silently, his punch meeting the old man's before sending him flying.

"Ouch, why didn't you control your strength, boy?!" The old man asked upon noticing the -640 before his face.

Compared to Taurus' previous attacks, this one is significant since the old man's health was about four thousand.

"Sorry, I'm back at this…" Taurus spoke, acting as if he couldn't control his strength properly.

His action was an attempt to put an end to the fight since the old man should have figured out what he wanted by now.

"Can I take some apples now?!" Taurus continued, intending to push the old man forward to teach aura blades.

"STOP, TAURUS!" The old man shouted as Taurus turned around before walking to the tree, intending to punch it.

Yet, what his grandfather did was something different.

"DON'T BREAK THE TREE!!!" The old man continued, shouting his lungs out as Taurus turned around with a grumble.

"But I want an apple, Granpa!" He muttered before striking the ground with his feet, causing it to rumble from the sheer force.

"Ah, stop! I will get you an apple!" The old man raised his hand, his sword appearing once again before coating it with his aura.

He swung it as the thin, shooting a cobalt blue line toward a thin branch, cutting it down alongside the apples attached to it.

"Wooooooow…" Taurus widened his eyes, acting impressed by his grandfather's act.

Although he could replicate it effortlessly, he guessed doing such a thing would make him suspicious more than he was.

"Time one is a little complicated, and it may completely depend on your talent." The old man spoke, raising his head proudly as if the trick he used was something complicated.

"I'm smart and talented, granpa. I will learn it fast!" The old man laughed upon hearing his grandson's words before nodding his head repeatedly.

"Fine, get your axe out, first." He believed the same would apply since Taurus was able to learn the basic aura technique easily.

Taurus nodded and did as told as the deep blue axe appeared in his hands.

"Remeber what you did you previously to form the aura layer? Rebeat it again but focus the mana on your axe!" The old man spoke before sitting down on the ground.

"My god, how?!" The old man's eyes widened the moment Taurus' axe was coated with a golden layer.

He could contain himself any longer and covered his face with both of his hand, given Taurus did it less than a minute later.

"Like this?" Taurus asked, acting deaf and oblivious to his grandfather's words and reaction.

"Granpa?!" Reciving no response from the old man, Taurus shouted with a louder voice as the old man shook his head.

"Yes, that's it you brat. Now cut off your mana and swing your axe!" The old man ordered as Taurus stood frozen for a moment.

He rubbed his head acting as if he was thinking about it, then he smiled brightly before facing his grandfather.

"What are you doing now?" Notcing his creepy smile, the old man spoke as Taurus prepared to swing sword.

"I'll swing my axe!"

"Not at me!"

"But I want to test my aura's strength!"

"No, this is risky!"

"I will control it, granpa!"

"Nooooo!"

"I beg you, granpa!" Taurus begged and the old man refused no matter how hard he tried.

Although Taurus' success wasn't guaranteed, the old man couldn't trust his safety to a child after all of that happened previously.

"Aim for the damned tree, boy! You have the floor, the rocks, and much more around you. Anything else but me!"

The old man screamed loudly, tired of going back and forth with Taurus.

He raised both of his hands high in a begging stance.

"I will spare you this once, granpa!" Content with the old man's reaction, Taurus turned around facing the tree before finally swinging his axe.
