Chereads / SSS-Class Awakening: World Breaking Anomaly / Chapter 20 - Controlling Space

Chapter 20 - Controlling Space

"Yes!" Taurus shouted, his courageous display rather cute to his family.

Although the skills were new, controlling them wouldn't be a big deal for someone who has vast experience like him.

However, he saw it as a great opportunity to be left alone with Mammot.

First, because he wanted to experiment with the two remaining skills and no one was more suitable, and secondly, because he feared harming them unintentionally again.

'What if I Restrict then Freeze? Would they overlap somehow?' Taurus drowned in his thoughts while imagining the possibilities, and soon enough, his father carried him back, breaking his train of thought.

"You will be staying with your grandfather until the end of this month, will you be a good boy?" Alexandra spoke and Taurus nodded his head in approval right given it was something he wanted.

"Will you promise me to behave yourself?!"

"Yes, Mama!" Alexandra asked and Taurus nodded his head once again, too excited to care.

The family was back at the house a few minutes later and everyone to their beds quickly, except for Taurus who stayed awake for about an hour, beginning his first mana meditation.

'Great!' Taurus thought once he was done with his first cycle, this meditation allowed him to increase his vitality by one and spirit by three every time he did it.

But compared to the remaining attributes, he found it a little more tiring.

'Is it because of the gap I created? But how? I didn't even move or do anything' He took some time trying to figure out the reason.

'Uhh, whatever! I can just focus on the spirit for the next couple of years.' No matter how much it took him, he found no logical reasons except the attributes gap, and soon enough he gave up and fell asleep.

In the end, he found it pointless to think about the matter any further, given it wasn't a major problem.

"Taaaaaaru, wake up! It's afternoon," Amelia's voice echoed into Taurus' ears like a loud alarm, causing him to slowly open his groggy eyes.

"Just five more minutes, sister…" Taurus meekly responded before closing his eyes once again, the fatigue still lingering around him despite the plenty of rest he took sleeping.

"No can do, they are already waiting for you!" Amelia responded before pulling him and shaking him a couple of times, knowing she couldn't harm him at all with his stats.

"Aah, fine, fine! But why are you still here? Aren't you supposed to go back today?" Taurus grumbled and freed himself from her grip effortlessly before asking.

"I'm going back later tonight, but I'm curious to see what you are capable of before leaving." Taurus smiled and stood up, treating her curiosity as something normal.

She helped him put a new set of clothes on before accompanying him to his grandfather's residence.

"You should remeber this path in case you wish to go back home," Amelia spoke as they walked through the lush gardens connecting the Pendragon lands, and Taurus smirked upon hearing her words.

"Heh, I already did yesterday!" Taurus spoke before bursting forward, leaving her behind as he made his way to his grandfather's residence.

She stood frozen for a moment, collecting herself before rushing behind him, fearing he'd lose his way.

Unfountaly, his speed was on another realm compared to her, and no matter how fast she could run, she wouldn't catch up.

It ended up with him eventually making his to Mammot as she arrived after him a few minutes later.

"Thank god, you're here!" She collapsed to her knees, breathing heavily as she spoke.

"But wow, seriously!" She continued, revealing how impressed she was with him remembering the way with how young he was.

"Thank god that you are here too, will you assist us or do we have to call the old man out?!" The titan spoke as their eyes met, his words clad in a threatening tone meant to push and scare her away.

"I will do that, is there a problem?!" Unfortunately, Mammot's attack was missed as Amelia took the words as a challenge, choosing to stand her ground.

"No no no, no problem at all. Let's begin then!" Mammot spoke before making his plan known a moment later.

"Listen, child, you will be doing the same thing you did yesterday," He spoke before pausing a moment, seemingly thinking about something before continuing.

"You will attempt freezing your sister without affecting anything around you, including me. Do you—"

"Why me? You should be the prime target given you are far stronger!"

"It doesn't matter girl, Both of us will get frozen a couple of times until he succeeds." Hearing her complaining, Mammot responded coldly, his words hitting her like a truck upon realizing the truth of the matter.

"I can't guarantee an early success, but if he does, then you are lucky. Otherwise, may just suffer."

"Aaah, it's fine!" Knowing she would be leaving soon, Amelia spoke. She didn't mind the fleeing stress and sensation brought by the skill as long she didn't have to go through it a lot.

"Can I start?!" Taurus finally took his chance to speak the moment the two remained silent.

"Restrict!" He shouted his skill a few seconds later the moment they nodded their heads.

[Restrict Activated!]

He ignored the notification and tried restricting the skill's field to his sister alone, but he surprisingly failed as he noticed the titan frozen beside his sister.

'Hmm, is there no way no way to cancel the effect?' He stood in his place thinking about a solution in case such a thing happened before.

'How about this?!' He finally nodded his head before rushing out of the area, checking everything around him while trying to cancel the skill.

Unfortunately, he received no notifications and ended up returning to them a moment later.

"Did it work?!" He asked, feigning ignorance as his sister frowned, wondering what he meant.

"What you are asking about is negative, how about trying something different this time?" Mammot took the lead before ordering Amelia to distance herself from both of them significantly.

Taurus nodded his head and did as told. Soon, Mammot stood frozen in place as he turned around, facing Amelia.

"Sister!" He rejoiced upon witnessing her wave her hands, signaling she was fine before rushing back to him.

Unfortunately, their celebration didn't last long as Amelia found herself freezing slowly as he closed in.

'Well, that's a little troublesome.' Taurus thought, his smile fading alongside his playful side.

'Time to get serious,' Knowing he did not have much time, Taurus choose putting more effort into figuring out the solution.

As far as he was concerned, he thought Freeze worked the same way when it came to stopping time.

In the end, he believed figuring out one would help him figure out the second way faster.

With that in mind, the process continued with Taurus freezing the space around them every few minutes, just enough to catch their breath.

The improvement was rapid and excitement was high until everything fell apart after wasting 270 mana points.

"CAAAAAAAAAAAAAN YOU STOP?!" Taurus' thoughts and resolve crumbled as the angry scream came from his grandfather's shack.

The old man left the shack a few minutes later, stomping heavily toward them, seemingly pissed after getting involved without his content.

"Take it somewhere else if you will do it every five minutes!"

"I'm sorry, we will slow down!" He simply responded, faking a cry upon witnessing his grandfather's angry display.
