Kingsly Scott exited the meeting room early in the morning after wrapping up a session and instructed his accompanying secretary, Helen, "Reschedule the afternoon meeting for tomorrow. Have the Deputy Manager handle the documents that need signing... I won't be at the office this afternoon."
"Understood."
"Also, cancel all business engagements for the next few days." Walking into his office, Kingsly glanced at his wristwatch before leaving.
After a brief hesitation, Helen asked, "The CEO of LIO is arriving in the city tonight to discuss reconciliation with you personally. Should that be canceled as well?"
LIO's CEO, Thomas, who leads the largest real estate group in Jakarta, wouldn't have flown in personally unless there was concern about Kingsly. If Kingsly stood him up again, even someone as patient as Thomas might have to confront him about it.
Kingsly didn't break his stride, responding coolly, "Cancel it."
